Hehe, I thought that Shepard had to be obvious. But at first, it seemed like an FWB thing for me. Then later, Shepard did get better about wanting him, despite all the barriers. That she wanted someone she could trust. I forgave her after that. Hehe.

Mordin's advice is brilliant for them all. Really funny. And I really liked Kasumi's lines. She is a great character, would have loved to have proper conversations with her.
And it really would have made sense for Tali to have a comment about femshep and Garrus...

Mind you, they know how close they are to each other. And that's enough for them. No grand gestures are necessary.

Same goes for my MainShep. I want the romance stuff to be there in ME3 but it doesn't need to be so in our faces and gag-worthy. Cheesy dialogue would really ruin it.

And I'm not the only one that thought Aveline resembled Shepard in that scene, yay.

Dialogue options would be great and would solve this problem, again, I think back to the Kaidan romance where I could role play a Shepard properly. I just want that with Garrus now. That way we won't be forced say something horribly rude "shut yer face and lets have sex" or something cringe worthingly cheesy "live with me...UNTILTHE DAY WE DIIIIIIIIIE"

I would love a bit better dialogue.. My main!/Shep is like me... heart on sleeve, emotional like woah. I mean, yes... "hey lets go at it like rabbits" is a fun option to have... but it would be nice to have other options. I mean, hell, DA2 had the greatest romances ever so far... they were cute and sweet, but not gag-worthy. At least I didn't think so.

Also, having different romance line options... like maybe a sarcastic but sweet option, and a "lets go have sex" option and a "sappy sweet" option... i mean, the romances are becoming a HUGE part of the game, so they should put more into them.

Agreed, DA2 was an awesome step forward when it comes to the romances.

The Garrus romance is my sentimental favorite. DA2 did go the right direction for romances though, and I hope ME3 follows that example. Also, no romance traps. Thank you, BioWare.

Let's also keep any backstabbing or rivalry out of our ME3 romances. It works for DA2 but I don't want to worry about tragic endings getting tied into my relationship with my ME3 LI. I certainly appreciate the more stable nature of the ME LIs over the DA2 ones.

I like crazy characters. xD But there already is some level of betrayal/romances not working out in ME2. Tali, Miranda, and Jack all have loyalty conflicts where they'll break up with Shepard if he doesn't choose them or use a persuade. Jack also has a Renegade "romance" scene, and will break up with Shepard afterwards. Jacob breaks up with Shepard if she tries to talk to him too much about his father. And let's not forget Morinth, who will actually kill Shepard if they get together. Those are basically the same as rivalry and/or backstabbing, with the only difference being that Shepard can't continue a romance like that while Hawke can.

My Shepard saw all the effort he made and  wanted to tell him how sweet he was being but  then her translator suddenly glitched and she told him to stop talking instead yes, that's what happened....

and DA2, man I wish Shepard got comforted like that, she bloody needs it sometimes. In fact Garrus needed a scene like that, I still feel the Omega issue was left unresolved . Sure Sidonis was taken care of but Shepard never got the chance to tell Garrus that it wasn't his fault and that he wasn't a failure. I mean when he tells you in a sad tone "I've seen so many things go wrong shepard...my work with c-sec...what happened with Sidonis" I felt a pang because I realized , at that point, he still feels like everythings his fault. 

If ANYONE could get what he feels like it's Shepard which is why it would have been so perfect if she was able to talk to him about her own mistakes.  Your shepard could have expressed her survivors guilt (akuze), talked about making the tough call knowing it would get lots of soldiers killed (torfan) she could talk about how virmire affected her etc. I think this could have been so poignant  beacuse Shepard would have shown Garrus that she isn't a perfect leader either. We know how much Garrus looks up to her so it would have been so lovely for Shepard to say "hey ,I'm not perfect either, I'm just like you and you're not alone".  Hopefully we get to have that kind of meaningful chat with him in the next game.

I know right? I loved that he stuck up for you like that. Garrus will hopefully get a well deserved hug in the final game, I joked before about the number of times ME2 made you THINK you were going to hug him. Even for the sheps that won't romance him in my imports (just one lol) I still would  want a bro hug out of him as well.

And yeah, I don't think any video game kiss will ever match up to the Anders kiss.  Love, passion, desperation, sheer WANT...it's all there.  And the NOISES.  Oh Maker, the noises.

That is so very cute, I can totally see Garrus doing that!

And yes, that Anders kiss has killed all future video game kisses for me, it was embarrasingly incredible.

I agree about Sidonis, but I would have liked all Shepards to be able to talk with him about it, not specifically as a romance dialogue. My Shepards all have such different feelings about the people they lost and different ways of dealing with it (well, revenge is a common theme among them), and it would have been such a great conversation. Shepard can talk to Kaidan (and Ashley as well, I assume) about survivor's guilt and losing teammates after Virmire. Shepard can also say his/her feelings about Virmire in the shuttle during Jacob's questioning. It would have been great if there was a moment like that with Garrus.

Totally agree, that was a great opportunity that the writer's passed up on, we can only hope for ME3 to deliver more. I really thought after that one e-mail (well actually there are two relating to Garrus, one from Dr. Chloe and the wife of one of his squad-mates) that we'd get some more dialogue options but nope.

Garrus is definitely the most loyal. And he's one of the most calm/polite in conversations with Shepard, probably second only to Thane. Even though I consider Tali as the second most loyal character, based on her joining Shepard when she had much more reason not to than Kaidan and Ashley, she does fire a bullet at the ceiling if Shepard sides with Legion. Not that it's without reason, but still. xD I like those kind of scenes though. Crazy makes the game more interesting.

@ Obsydian: The top is a screenie taken from Garrus' recruitment mission, just when he is doing his 'runway walk' to greet Shepard.

Now you guys have got that into my head. I half expect to see him turn on his side, strike a pose and say:

Now I'm thinking of all the turian characters we love in a runway show. xD Saren would probably just glare at anyone who suggested it (even though MainShep likes to watch him walk around in that tight outfit that he only wears to distract her).
