Saren: *looks at MainShep* I can't believe you're the most sane fangirl of them all.
MainShep: Posted ImagePosted Image

MainShep wouldn't dare ask him to runway walk. She wants to stay on his good side. Earthborn Ruthless, however, would probably ask just to tease him.

Perhaps. But I can imagine it would be a very intense, posing glare.

With a pout. ;D

This needs to become fanart. I need this in my life.

Hell yes! Posted Image

I feel like a bit of a loser this being the only bioware forum I ever go one XD I'm just that obsessed with garrus plus I'm to afraid to go on the Dragon age fourms for fear of spoilers (I totally would have finished it by now if I hadn't started another ME play through teehee).

More Saren fanart would be nice... hopefully no one expects me to have the art skills to attempt it though. xD If I could draw turians (not that I've ever tried), there would be many cute pictures of Saren and MainShep.

You’re not a loser (because if you are that would make me one too lol) untill some ME3 details come out I've pretty much kept to this topic as well. If there isn't anything new to talk about well I can still have fun in the Garrus thread. Besides our discussions MAY have an influence on what happens with his character in the next game, you never know. Bioware is very very good and finding out what the fans like and want and since this is one of their official sites, we in the Garrus thread have an unspoken duty to discuss all things Garrus for the possible chance that what we say might actually get used.

Even if that weren’t the case there’s nothing wrong with talking about a character you like. If anything it’s a big compliment to the writers and creators of the mass effect series. The fact that we can talk endlessly about their work and their characters shows what an amazing job they have done.

Leonia, that's why passwords are great things! Hehe.

I'm going to try and avoid spoilers about Garrus reappearing in ME3, like I did with ME2. But now I'm always on BSN, that may be difficult...

I really hope he will be a squaddie in ME3, and that we do get some more romance scenes instead of the "omg we can die in a few hours lets sleep together!" I love how they did it in DA2 because it went further than just the romance scene. (and Anders' kiss. The KISS :3) Now I'm not expecting a kiss from Garrus (with those teeth? Yikes) But I want some depth. Bring the public post-FCW awkwardness and Papa Vakarian.

LOL my boy's been back from Afghanistan for these past two weeks, which is why i havent been around as much as i'd like to be... and i've been trying to be discreet about coming here. lol, is that bad??  i think that he'd flip if he knew i had such a crush on not only a FICTIONAL character, but an alien one to boot.  He never has approved of my obsessions.

but magnetor, this is the only one that I come on as well. Garrus is honestly the only character that i care enough about.  I've tried with others.

Also, I will attempt to make this fanart happen, if no one else gets to it first. Cause I NEED to see this too.    Oh dear, I need to play through this game again, I so need to see this runway walk....

I also wish that there had been more dialogue for these things, LI's or not.   The romances in a BioWare game are such a HUGE part of the game now, as opposed to any other game...  There is no other that really does that sort of thing and I think it really really adds to the story and to the character. I know that I've never gotten this into a game before, and its cause i could never really relate as much to the character as I can now.
But I definitly agree with Kim that it should be for LI's or not...  and they should obviously differ.

Hyrule, that comic is awesome.  Thank you for sharing. :D  I've been reading through "Spectre and the Archangel"  I didn't know she had another one too.

And I totally wish I was better at drawing Turians, *not for lack of trying* I would make so much turian fanart. I should totally draw more Saren. He's got such an awesome head-shape.  I can draw their heads pretty well now, i've followed so many tutorials and whatnot.  But I can't figure the bodies out, without armor. *shrug*  more practicing.  Now that boy is going again, I'll have plenty of time for making more fanarts, since I tend to obsess like its my job.

There, I think I'm caught up with what happened overnight. B)

I really do hope there is some relationship development in ME3. For all the LIs, really. The ME1 romances got put on hold throughout ME2 and the ME2 romances didn't really get a chance to become anything more. Of course, I especially want this for Garrus/Shepard. Garrus got to show a bit of his emotions in ME2 but Shepard never said much to him. It would be nice to get a bit more emotional depth to their relationship.

True, but at least (it seems) that the ME2 romances will carry through and will be developed. I can't wait to see Garrus' romance develop. Bioware have set such a great foundation for him and femshep.

And yeah, Shepard didn't really get to express her emotions much until LotSB. And even then, they weren't exactly the words my mainshep would have said. She wasn't bothered if the arms that she found peace in were of an alien or human. (Well, some of the aliens anyway.)

I mean hey, minds are like parachutes. They work best when open.

I need to play LotSB. I think i shall download it and play it tomorrow. Yes. Well, the rumors are that they are going to get seriously into the relationships and consequences of them in ME3. But these are just LJ rumors that may or may not be true.

Gods I hope they are.

There was that link that Admiral Cheez posted here a while yet where someone chatted to Garrus' writer. And he said that there is LOADS of his story left to be told. Brandon Keener has also hinted that only a small fraction of his story has been told too.

So I think his character is going to get a lot of development still. Which makes me hopeful for him being a squadmate.

ME3 can't come out soon enough. >_< I do have high hopes about Garrus coming back in a major way. Unfortunately I will likely remain clueless until the game comes out. I usually try to stay spoiler free. Although, I did look to see who the DA2 romances would be before the game came out. I could take spoiling that much for myself.

Is it wrong that the main thing I care about ME3 is whether or not Garrus is still going to be a companion/LI? Haha.

I think he's such a popular character that they'd be silly NOT to put him in there as a squaddie. I was talking to some random people at Gamestop the other day, and each one of them, without prompting was all "Garrus HAS to come back." :D

Garrus will almost certainly have a big role in ME3. He's one of the most popular and well-liked characters in the series.

Also, i hope that we'll see at least one turian-controlled world in ME3. We've been to Illium and Tuchanka, so I think it's only fair that we get to see the wonderful planet of Palaven before the trilogy ends :D

Mmm...as much as I like the way BioWare did the romances in DA2, and as good as the characters and dialogue are becoming, there is one trend with the romances that I really don't like: decoupling the romance dialogue from the rest of the game.

There's two ways in which this can be a problem.  In ME2, if you don't romance an LI (other than Jacob and Miranda who do have friendship paths), you miss out on large portions of their dialogue.  That dialogue may very well have nothing to do with romance, but you don't get it because you didn't put out <_<  The other problem is the one I ran into in DA2, where conversations would split between "romance" and "friendship" branches, and you could never get the information in both.

For example, Anders.  I really would've liked to talk to him about the Circle, my past as an apostate, etc.  But those conversation branches came up in the same trees as romance branches, and I couldn't do both.  WTF?  Just because I'm talking to this guy about actual serious stuff doesn't mean I can't flirt a little, or vice versa.

I'm not against more romance dialogue for the LIs, but not at the exclusion of actual backstory, character development, and discussion that should be available for EVERYONE, not just if you romance a character.

True that. Hopefully, we'll get some shameless flirting at the same time as Garrus tells his awesome backstory on how he became the legendary calibrator he is today.

Ooh, that drove me insane. Sometimes I would end up reloading just to see what I could talk to him about if I didn't flirt.

I hope in ME3 they have flirt options but that they lead to additional dialogue instead of cutting off other dialogue. I really don't want to miss out on informative conversations with Garrus just because I want to flirt with the guy. So, have non-exclusive dialogue tree branches. Talk to Garrus about his family/home/etc. and flrt shamelessly instead of either/or.

I haven't read through every page of this thread so I apologize if this was already discussed but...
Is anyone else concerned that romancing Garrus in ME2 may have negative repercussions? I was testing different dialogue options during one of the conversations in the forward battery and when I chose the "let's just stay friends" option Shepard said something to the effect of "I care about our friendship too much to do this cheaply". That surprised me and immediately I started to wonder if maybe the whole romance was a little hasty. I started to worry that it would screw things up between them in ME3. I thought that maybe if I opted instead not to romance anyone and just draw out the friendship for longer that in ME3 I'd be rewarded with some mindblowingly epic first romantic encounter. Not that the headbump was disappointing, it's just, maybe if  we wait we'll get to see Garrus storm into Shepard's cabin and profess his love. It might seem a little out of character but let's face it, Garrus and Shepard have been through so much crap together that maybe by ME3 Garrus will be tired of saving face, maybe he'll just swallow his pride and take a chance. Just to be safe I've completed two playthroughs with my MainShep, one where she romances Garrus and one where she stays single. :P

And what if you wait and then Rupert the janitor chef storms into you quarters instead? =P

I guess it's kinda hard to make the LI make the first move without making the whole team hit on Shepard or finding ninja romances everywhere.

Anders says hi.

Not that I mind

Love the fact that both Garrus and Anders are justice/vengeance twisted. Except Garrus is sane.

Rupert XD

I didn't quite think this through. Maybe Garrus would only storm in after a little flirting.

Either way, I agree with everyone else, ME3 needs Garrus hugs!

I think that was just Shep letting him down gently.  Also, no time to be hasty like right before a suicide mission where you don't know if you'll have a tomorrow to worry about, right?

Also, Garrus, take some notes from Anders.  Not in the crazy department, please, but in the SEXYTIMES department.  Garrus probably couldn't pull off the Anders kiss, but he could at least push FemShep up against a wall and run his hands through her hair or something :P
