No storyline details, but it does state his overall role (eg. squadmember, cameo, or not appearing.) Here's a hint: it's good news.

Personally, I do think the information is incredibly spoilerrific in regards to how the game begins. But I figured Garrus fans would be glad to know he's confirmed in a role not of a cameo capacity.

As for not having him as part of the squad...You know...If him not hanging out with my Shep is how he is going to flourish, then I don't want him hanging out with my Shep.  It's like Tali.  As much as I want her to stick around for selfish reasons, if it's between that and becoming an Admiral, I'd want her to do what would be best for her and her people.  Same with Garrus. I'd hatehatehate not having them around, but I do care about the characters and want what'd be best for them.

Then again, I can play a "hang with my homies" Shep and an "altruistic, selfless Shep."  Thankfully it's just a game.

But still, many many manly tears at Garrus' Spectre ceremony.  IF it happens.

I missed some things on my hour drive home apparently.... Pacifien, you saw it?  I want it now. lol...  thank you though, for relieving some of the terror thats been sitting at the back of my brain.  you've made my night, week, month, year, etc. 

and technoquarian... forgive me... hehe, its just kinda odd to know that there are males on this board of predominantly femaleness.   you just made me giggle so loud i nearly woke my roommates.   i see where you're coming from though.  i would want Garrus to flourish and do his thing and if it had to be not by my Shep's side... then so be it. And I think she would see it that way too.   There would be MUCH of the sadness though. 

Also, i'm apparently sleepy so i apologize in advance for any strangly worded sentences. i sometimes devolve in my intelligence and grammar when sleepy.

The Garrus is so awesome that love of all sorts for him knows no boundary.  If there was a Bizarro Mass Effect universe, all of the Reapers would be hankering for some lovin', Vakarian-style.

its totally true though. I've never met a fan of the ME games that was like, eh, i didn't like Garrus. Everyone loves him. And with good reason.

Yay confirmation! Though we already sort of knew but it's still good to see more evidence. Let's hope we get more dialogue this time

I am also slightly amused that he is confirmed for ME3 but still, technially, not confirmed as a charater in ME2 (according to the official website).

Garrus for Spectre! Seriously, in ME1 they say that there are about 100 active Spectres. We have met 3 (?) of them besides Shepard. Just imagine the havoc 100 Spectres (+ Garrus) could do.

I'm too weak. I read everything about the article  and thankfully it wasn't THAT spoilerish. Well it does say how it starts but doesn't go into detail; it just gives you the gist. And that's fine (that's how I guessed it would start which was cool) but that's the most I want to know now.  I'll have to go cold turkey which will be extremely hard. It's interesting Garrus was one of the first few squaddies mentioned to come back, do you think this is a sign he'll have a bigger role to play in the game? (considering who else was in that list).

On my latest playthrough I "romanced" Kaidan (he's really hard not to romance in that if you miss the one "I don't like you" reply you're stuck with him) but didn't sleep with him at the end ... not sure if that changes anything seeing as he still popped up on my desk in ME2 ... oh well.
