*shrug*  I liked what Adam Howden and Jennifer Hepler did with Anders in DA2.  And FYI, they changed it so Greg Ellis wouldn't be voicing both Anders and Cullen, who are central to the plot.

Whereas Thane and Tali fans in particular are the ones who mance them (not bro/sismance.)

Actually, Ellis was too busy filming Pirates 4 so he didn't have enough time to voice the large role of Anders. Which I am grateful for, because I love Anders' new voice...and his eyes...and his smirk....Hrm, if you'll excuse me.

As Sable already said, because ya just can't have Greg Ellis voicing both Cullen and Anders. There are scene where they talk to each other, after all. At least with Mass Effect when you have M!Shep talking to another character voiced by Mark Meer, there's usually some alien voice filter effect going on so it's not too obvious.

I'm not even going to get into what issues I have with changing writers. This is a Garrus thread, so enough about that. 

Hm. I wonder if they'll be bringing back Turians in light armor...

Do you think its because garrus is the only LI was designed NOT to be an LI that made him so appealing to both the crowds? Even Tali was designed to be an LI initially but they didn't follow through with the romance in ME1 because they didn't know what the response would be. In Garrus's case becoming romancable was a feature that got added to his already awesome character later. Players (regardless of gender) got to be his BFF first so there wasn't automatic hate from people like there is for the characters who were designed foremost to be romancable. The "This character wasn't made to appeal to me so I don't like them" attitude.

The mandible flare/twitch is so cute. It shows their emotion so well.

Also, that female turian on the last page... ignoring the fact that it's Garrus, I would have liked female turians to look more like that. I support fringe on all turians.

If Garrus had a different writer... I think they would do fine. He'll probably have some more character development over the course of ME3, but I seriously doubt they'd mess up his character. Anders was very different from Awakening to DA2, but he has a situation that would be very rare, and even so, it still seems in-character to me (considering the circumstances, of course). It's unlikely that Garrus will change so much. And I don't know that much about the individual writers, but Saren had one writer in Revelation, another in Evolution, and I have no idea who wrote him in ME1 - he was always in-character, and the character development over many years was logical. I believe they'll do a great job with Garrus either way. (Plus, didn't he have different writers from ME1 to ME2?)

I would probably only notice the voice actor change if it's too different. If no one told me that Anders had a different voice actor, I wouldn't have known. It wouldn't matter too much to me if the voice was different, but the character was still portayed well. I wouldn't like it if his lines started feeling forced, didn't show his emotion as well, or something like that. But I think Garrus' VA sounded like he would still be playing him in ME3, even though he didn't confirm it (as far as I know), with comments that there was a lot more to Garrus' story.

I guess this is mostly true... but even though I have Shepards to romance them, I still personally think of them as "friend" characters. xD

I have no idea Kim. That was what I heard anyway. Besides, Ellis voice wouldn't suit the new Anders.

Also, they won't change Garrus. Garrus already came back for ME2, why change him for ME3? All he needs to do is place his pretty ass in Ivy Shepard's bed and maybe cuff himself to them. Ain't no Reapers stopping the "calibrations" hehehe

Garrus did have a lot of character development from ME1 to ME2, but yeah, I wouldn't call that changing his character either.
