There are some parallels between Garrus and Anders, but unless you seriously ran him down the renegade path, I don't see Garrus doing what Anders did.

I don't either, honestly. The only trait I can think of that they have in common is determination, which.. is kind of vague, a lot of people have that trait.silentstephi wrote...

In other news, CHIMMY. IYOU. THANK YOU FOR THE NEW BANNER!
PS: Lyrium tattoos and turians? We are of a like mind.

And quite frankly, it would be a worse case of character derailment than ME2's pre-LotSB Liara.

Frankly, DA2 ruined Anders for me. He was great in Awakening, but in DA2 he made me wish I'd romanced Fenris.

I agree. Completely.... I wanted to like Anders SO MUCH! but.. he was just this whiny, irritating person who overdid it. *shrug* i ilked him..... but only superficially and nostalgically. made me sad. i don't see the comparison really either.
honestly.... favorite BioWare character? gods. too many.... Garrus, overall i think. But ... Minsc, and Fenris and Joker and Zevran.... I'd have such a hard time choosing.
And gods I hope Legion is in ME3. I freakin love Legion. Something about him is absolutely adorable.

First, apparently the way they're getting around the variables regarding character death is by having temporary squadmates only along for certain missions, and it sounds like many of them will be of this variety. That way if you got that squadmate killed, then they've got a replacement (likely generic, or perhaps one of the others will work their way in there), without having to do a ton of scripting. Which means we may only get Garrus for certain parts of the game as opposed to having the turian batman with us at all times. I am praying that's not true. T_T
Also I read something regarding 'species loyalty', that Shepard must earn to get a certain species as allies. Listed among them were quarians and salarians. You know what that means: We're probably going to get a turian planet. Oh yeah.

Probably. I just want to see him around other turians for a change, I really liked his interactions with Pallin in ME. There were almost no turians of note in ME2, and strangely, the ones that stand out (Sidonis, Kuril) made Garrus look like a model turian by comparison.Hyrule_Gal wrote...
The funny thing is since he's such a "bad" turian the visit might be very amusing. Maybe it will be more apparent how different he acts compared to the other turians who spend their lives on their home worlds.

We basically met the majority of the families, at least from the ME2 romance options. Jacob's father, Miranda's sister, Thane's son, Tali's father (even though he was deceased....) and her aunt, and Samara's daughter. Time for some Garrus family time <3
I wonder if his mother kept baby pictures...

I'm looking forward to meeting Garrus' family. And a visit to Palaven makes it seem more likely with this whole 'species loyalty' concept which sounds like a fantastic idea. I would totally get the turians on my side, they have the biggest military after all.
And then they have Garrus Vakarian...
Well, the Salarian homeworld was confirmed yesterday, I believe. So Palaven and Thessia can't be far behind.

Oh yeah and Shepard should make a total fool of him/herself by misunderstanding turian culture.Hyrule_Gal wrote...
That's what I'm looking forward to most. Experiencing turian culture with Garrus around to comment on it. I can picture him not looking too forward to going back but doing so because we need allies and he's the only go to turian shepard has , plus it makes a great set up for a side quest with his family.

Saren because he's intriguing to me in that I find him an extremely sympathetic character in spite of his violent xenophobia. I usually find various "-ists" and "-phobes" repugnant (truly, one of my main reasons for hating Cerberus like I do is their xenophobic stance) so to find someone for whom I felt sad who was also a "-phobe" was interesting. Even moreso is the fact that he redeemed himself without ever backing down from that stance. In the end he was still anti-human, and I'm sure had he survived the Nazara Incident, he'd have gone right back to
Yes, I still feel this way even after reading "Revelation."
Tali (and Prazza & Co.) were my first introduction to the ME universe and are who really hooked me. In the beginning, I wanted to play the game because I wanted to learn more about the mysterious dudes in gas masks. My
Quarians in general seem like pretty cooperative guys, seem to have a good sense of gender equality (I get tired of patriarchies and matriarchies both), are tech-oriented but still have a love for and appreciation of the arts, and so on...I also like their power structure and nomadic/tribal-ish ways (even though I wish they had a home.) I guess I just identify with them.
Garrus, just...Garrus.
Even though I know he's a synthetic and isn't supposed to have emotions, Legion just comes across as really kind, even-keeled, almost sorrowful over the Morning War. Plus, he's adorable. It's the head-flaps, I'm telling you.
Not even going into all of the minor characters I love and want to know more about...Nihlus, Kal'Reegar, Admiral Xen, Kar'Danna, Veetor, and so on~

Species loyalty, I'm going to be getting my dextrohomies taken care of first. Even before humans. Yes, I'm THAT pathetic.

Seikox, that art is awesome. I love how Garrus is all like "Yo, 'sup, FemShep." They look pretty relaxed and chill.
