Nope, I haven't seen that.

At least for my Shepard, losing Earth wouldn't be that much more symbolic than losing any other planet full of innocent lives. She was a Colonist/SS, so Earth was never her home and she tends to be somewhat emotionally detached because of all of the tragedy in her past.

It really depends on the circumstances though. Like the 'military target' vs 'civilians' thing in ME2, or if saving one gave the Reapers any sort of tactical advantage over saving the other.

But as of now with no details, I'd pick the turians.

EDIT: Is that Nihlus and Saren? What's that from?

Yeah  "hard choices"...

Miranda: Shepard! We have to deactivate this control panel! The Batarians usually make 2 deactivation buttons to confuse the person trying to disarm it. If my calculations are correct the one on the right will stop the missile heading towards earth while the one on the left will just make you a  sandwich...clearly the obvious choice-

Shepard:  *while eating a sandwich*Pressed it already

Miranda: What!? Why did...wha...WHY DID YOU PRESS THE LEFT ONE?!

Shepard: *shrugs* I was hungry...hmmm...this could have used some mustard though...

Miranda: You just destroyed earth!

Shepard: You’ve been hanging around me for what? 2 games now? When have I ever given you the impression I cared at all about humanity? I leave all the human members of my squad behind, I screw turians , and I made myself queen of the rachni *points to crown* so yeah, **** Earth.  Now let’s go blow up Cerberus! Woooo!
MirandaPosted Image *watching her ride off on a Rachni*  This clearly has been the most stupid mistake a pro-human organisation has ever made

it is... its from this person from DevArt...   they have a lot of ME stuff.

and yeah, i see your point. I dunno. and I guess my viewpoint is a bit different...  being from earth and all.  I suppose 148 years in the future, its a bit different.   I dont know. without circumstances and details... I do know that my mainShep would definitly side with Garrus... but it'd be a hard decision. She's earthborn.

EDIT.  *dies laughing*   OH Hyrule.  i love you.  that is hilarious.  and yeah... i suppose when its put that way.   I did the same.

in fact, i'm trying to think of a situation in which i chose the humans. .........and i'm not coming up with one.

That is awesome! I wish I knew how to do that sort of thing. So much repositioning of Garrus and FemShep. So very much.

It would have been awesome... if there wasn't so many cut content. I've played almost all BW games and Atton was one of the fews LIs I really liked (Valen and Garrus are the other ones). Maybe it's the voice, Nicky Katt did a great job and I love those deep and manly voices

Or, maybe, I'm into bad guys. Kelly Chambers would be proud of me. Well, I think I like good bad guys, not the evil ones

I actually thought the KOTOR romances weren't great in comparison to later games. I'll always remember Carth for being my first, but BioWare has definitely improved the formula since then.

As for KOTOR2 romances... Eurgh. You couldn't really even call them romances since the game wasn't finished. Any romance that starts just falls off a cliff without resolution, literally. Atton will always be one of my favorite LIs even though he's not BioWare, because he was just so awesome, but it's a shame he never reached his full potential.

EDIT: I recommend picking up KOTOR 1 just for the story, though. It's one of the best games ever.

Yeah, its one fo the few BioWare games I never played, and have been told by MANY that I need to. I definitly will do so.

And yeah, I remember their romances from the days of BG2. LOL...those always made me laugh, even though I did them anyway. I miss BG2.....

I always thought that maybe Nihlus had a crush on Shepard. Does anyone else get that vibe? I even suspect that Saren had a thing for her too.

Yes, KotOR II was Obsidian's. Maybe that's why it isn't finished. Romance development was promising, but it never comes to an end. BW always ends its romances, at least in the games I've played. That's what gives me hope about ME3 ^_^

I'm sure we'll have a good Garrus/Shep ending

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this article here, but if you like Garrus, you MUST read this article made today about him. Just make sure you don't fall out of your chair laughing!

"9. His dad was a very down the line cop, also in C-Sec. I couldn't find any pictures of him, but from the way Garrus talks about him, this is a pretty close approximation."

Followed by a pic of Red Forman. I love Forman and I laughed my ass off

Well, except for Seb in DA2.  But Seb was DLC.

As for difficult decisions in ME3, here's where what my Shep would do and what I as a player want to do collide badly.  My Shep would make the most tactically advantageous decisions, always.  If that means nuking Palaven, so be it.  If that means nuking Earth, so be it.  If it means leaving her entire squad, including Garrus, to die, so be it.  It would kill her emotionally, but she'd do it.  That's her job as a Spectre--to make the hard calls no one else will make.

Hopefully BioWare doesn't make me do anything quite that awful, or I'll just go off into a corner and cry.

I never got that feeling from Saren, but I liked to imagine it about Nihlus. He's obviously been shadowing Shepard for a while. I'd think he couldn't help but start to notice and admire... things... after a while. :P

PS: I love your avatar. <3

@Sable Rhapsody: IC my character would probably do the same, but when it comes to Garrus (especially if his death is involved) I would always meta-game. I can sort out the IC reasons later. ::cough::

@Smilietime: That was hilarious.

worst thing that could happen in ME3 would be having to choose between saving Garrus or his family. You have to let him die or he'll hate you for not saving his family instead...
i dont think that would happen, but just the thought of it.....Posted Image

... Y U MAKE ME THINK THIS? :crying:

Now I'm imagining Palaven on the verge of annihilation and Shepard's shuttle is taking off with the Vakarians on board, but it's past its weight capacity and Garrus pulls a Sawyer and jumps out so his family and Shepard can live. Augh, angst.

So I was just thinking about this.... I think its cause I was dreaming about turians.
I'm probably rediculously late to the party with this realization, but oh well. Our three main turians cover the philosophical extremes.
Nihlus = extreme good. I get the feeling that he's the hero type who does whats right. I see him taking the moral high ground.
Garrus = generally sticks to around the middle of the road. Potential to go either way, but would never go the extreme in either direction.
Saren = ...I don't want to say evil, but he's pretty evil. Again, even before indoctrination, he definitly did not seem to do things the morally right way.

Thoughts? or am I reading too much into this?

Nice avatar, Obs :D  And that second pic...OMG, love it.  The only thing I'm not sure about is Nihlus being extreme good.  Samara talks about once having fought him, and in order to keep from being killed by her, he created a situation where she had to either kill an innocent as well as him, or spare the innocent and let him go.  As her code prevented her from harming innocents (which is rather ironic for Samara) she was forced to let him escape.  If one wanted to use the old D&D alignment system, I'd place Garrus as chaotic good with the potential to slip into neutral or even evil territory, Nihlus as lawful neutral, and Saren as lawful evil.

Nihlus was also trained by the best of the best: Saren.  I doubt they'd have gotten along well at all if Nihlus had been overly concerned with being the good guy.

I never got that impression, to be honest...He always seemed neutral, and treated both MShep and FemShep exactly the same.  All he cared about was that Shepard could do the job being asked of him/her.  Sure, he was friendly enough, but all that means is that he wasn't hostile towards him/her.
Now, Saren...Not one bit.  He wouldn't ever go for a human.  It's like saying that a prominent racist would prefer to date someone of color.  IMO, it doesn't compute.

It just seemed to me that toward the end Saren starts to really hear Shepard, almost like he considers him/her an exception to the rule regarding his hatred. I know that doesn't imply romantic feelings, I guess I just like pretending that's what it implies for my own amusement XD. You're right, there isn't any evidence to support that either turian was interested but I think in Nihlus' case there was, at the very least, some potential. I mean, Shepard definitely had his attention. Oh heck, I just love turians and I want them all to love my femshep XD

I was a million times more upset about Nihlus dying then Jenkins. First off, you KNEW that boy was toast the moment shep said "you have a long career ahead of you" after playing DAO I thought "yup you're those two blokes that I can't remember the names of". But Nihlus, he was cool, confident, for those few moments he was alive he was awesome. That's why I was surprised when he got killed off that early, but thankfully it was by Saren and it was a cool death. I mean how lame would it have been if he got killed by a weak-ass geth drone-Uh, sorry Jenkins LOL

Agreed. Atton was made of awesome, and I was always so disappointed that the romance never really got off the ground. I even named by Mabari "Atton" in his honour.

Garrus has got to be my favourite Bioware romance, which is weird because they never really intended for him to be a romantic option. All of the L.I.s that were supposed to be appealing never really did anything for me. Carth, Sky, Kaiden, they all felt way too similar.

Atton reminded me so much of Joker, all that snark and self boasting. But I liked the guy.

Still, Garrus is the best Bioware have done in my opinion :D
And I really liked Nihlus, I never picked the anti-alien dialogue choices with him. He genuinely seemed to admire Shepard as a human. So I can see what you mean that had Nihlus lived, he could have been developed more.
