And lastly, is the composer of "Calibrations: A love song" around? I love that song! "Garrus, you've only got... six fingers~!" just gets me every time. I'd like to make a video for it if I can get her permission and figure out what clips to use.

I had no idea what you were talking about, so I looked it up, and...wow. That was the awesomest thing I've heard in a long loooong time.

But every time I head down to the main battery
Say, "Hey there, big boy, let's test my flexibility"
I don't wanna talk about guns or hear "Can it wait?"
I'm so ****ing tired of watching you calibrate

 This is so going on the Garrus playlist.

Also found this on deviantart. So cute~

And just outta curiousity... anyone heard from Kim lately?  or is that a taboo subject?

I left the forums for a while because no internet community is worth the annoyance.

And then I bought Evolution #4. Poor Saren.

You're back!  I missed you.  :D

I hope you're back. please?

So... comments since I missed so much.  The sad top of the page pic was rediculously sad. :( Made me cry, actually... beautiful and powerful though it was. *wipes away tears*  seriously.  I love that stuff...
Top of the page from this page is amazing.
Lime!Garrus is effing adorable. and needs now to be iconized. It = win.
MetalDragon.... that picture gets better and better every time. :D  Don't know if you saw my question before... and if you responded, i apologize...  i missed it. :(  but ... who's the OC in the picture? just curious.

Lastly.  I made a thing. I need help with it though... It needs a background... which is a thing I'm not so good at... but I need ideas for one.  help please? :D
So its Obsydian Shepard and Nihlus. And it took me way too effing long to do. Unfortunately my camara washed out the colors of the armor ....   damn. I need a scanner.  Maybe I can have staples or something scan it for me. Regardless....  Behold. :D

EDIT: Ok fine. Ninja me like crazy. Metal! that is beautiful. and I understand now.
Also, that other one made me squee. Involuntarily. :D

This is kinda where I'm at too, Cheez. I'm preparing an essay about the Turian Hierarchy and Feudal Japan, which, if completed, will totally validate my otherwise unused Psych/East Asian Studies education.

I must read it when it is finished.

(I'm also putting off finishing my Portal2 review. It's just... so hard to review that game).

Just answer one question for me:

Is it worth purchasing at full price?

@Arcian: Rage.  Arguing.  Hate.  Spam.  Can't have friendly conversations anymore, you know?

Cheez, just for you:
Is Portal 2 worth the full retail purchase price? Shortest answer: Yes. Short answer, Yes, if. Medium answer: Yes, if you’re willing to pay $40-50 for a 6-12 hour experience, provided that experience is one of the best you’ve had in years. Long Answer:blog.

And yeah, I've also noticed a distinct change in tone on these boards in the past month. First it was Arrival, Then it was the GI article. Now, who knows what's next? I wish I'd come here a month or two earlier. Ah well, maybe it'll make me spend less time on forums and more time getting stuff done. Or maybe it'll make me get that Kaidan loyal playthrough done.

It will be so hard to resist the Garrus, especially given this thread.

*sigh* I thought it might get like this eventually, but I didn't think it would happen so soon. It's the approaching release date that sets people off, and each new bit of info that makes it on here is like dropping pieces of ham into a piranha tank. It was especially nasty with regards to L.I.s in the weeks preceding ME2. Most of the fanbase drew their lines in the sand and banded together with other like-minded individuals.

At the end, camps were:

1) VS fans (who only became more volatile with disappointment)
2) Same-sex romance fans (who eventually merged with the Samara-ites)
3) Tali and Garrus fans (not necessarily the same thing, but they were shipmates due to similar circumstances)
4) Everyone else (as in, people whose favourite L.I.s had already been confirmed and who had no need to argue anymore, or people who just didn't care).

Those were...interesting times, in the ancient chinese sense of the word. Every thread which even remotely mentioned romance would morph into a flame war. Every single piece of new info was meticulously picked apart for clues to the identity of the L.I.s. Once Thane was confirmed it all came down to the coveted "last slot". It was either going to be a bisexual Samara romance or Tali and Garrus. That was the point at which I retreated into the Garrus thread to wait out the storm.

@jellobell That song always puts a big goofy smile on my face. The creativity of Bioware fans is awesome.

@Metal-Dragon-Kiryu I really like the light effects you achieved on Garrus' armor and eyepiece!

@Obsydian I only just started ME1, so I'm not sure if Nihlus shows up after the opening (I'm guessing not). How about aboard the Normandy 1? Or on Eden Prime before he goes off on his own? Wow, the detail you've put into his face paint must have taken you hours and hours.

@jellobell: Yikes. I am so glad I had no idea ME2 existed until after it was released...

Toooootally going to hide out here and dwell on how awesome Garrus is.

Random tangent: Think we'll be seeing Lorik Qui'in again in ME3? How about General Partinax? Solana Vakarian?

I really want closure on Garrus's family issues. I don't think we'll get them, and I don't think that it's rational to expect to get them, but man - I want to give Garrus's sister a hug and apologize for stealing him, and then I want to give her a million credits.

Yeah... heh, longer than I'd like to admit. Sadly... But thank you...Naw, sadly... no more Nihlus. Its rediculously depressing, as he's an awesome character.   Eden Prime could totally work. heh, nice simple background. I thought about the Normandy, but... i'm not sure I'm that good. lol. Thank you.

Also, it would be cool to see Lorik again.. or any of the random turians that pop up throughout the other games.

And I'm definitly a sucker for spoilers. Its a bit sad... but there you have it. I love surprises ... I gor a few big ones in DA2... and in ME2.  but I didn't come to the forums till well after I'd played ME2, so I was mostly spoiler free.  At this point, to me they're like breath. I will take any that I can get.

I got spoiled for every single ME release. I got ME2 before ME1 so I read the plot synopsis for ME and didn't notice when it crossed over to ME2. And you guys did a good job of spoiling LotSB and Arival for me:pinched: thanks guys :P

I really wish I hadn't spoiled ME1 for myself, it would have been awesome to watch the epic story unfold. Instead when I first saw sovereign I was like, "Oh look there's a big scary reaper! It looks like a cuttle fish ^.^" And knowing Saren wasn't a bad guy made him sorta meh.

I'm going to try really hard to go through ME3 without spoilers so I'll be avoiding the forums in the months before release.

Yeah.  I totally wouldn't mind palling around with Sol for a bit.  I went so far as to make up a spot for her in ME3, where she's part of the ground troops you run into during the seige of Palaven.  If Garrus is in your party, she drops her gun, runs over, and gives him this huge hug... and then b*tches at him for getting his face shot off.

If he's dead, however, when you introduce yourself as Commander Shepard, she mentions how highly Garrus thought of you and asks if you've been in touch with him lately.  You have the option to lie and say you haven't heard from him (in which case you can tell she knows you aren't telling the whole truth, but doesn't press the issue), or tell her that he died fighting the Reapers' pawns (in which case she's absolutely devastated, but manages to force it down enough that she can keep shooting Reaper mooks).

Solana with live Garrus: epic banter and a few truly touching moments that finally rap up Garrus' issues.
Solana with dead Garrus: makes you feel depressed and guilty enough that you go back and do the SM properly.

Personally, I find the turian governmental system fascinating, even though it's heavily autocratic.

To me it seems like the perfect society.

If ME didn't have me stuck as a puny human I'd totally be playing a turian supremist.

This.

"Those humans think they are SO GREAT with their 'democracy'. I have dismissed that form of government."

A page late to a conversation about what Garrus tastes like, and nobody said mesquite? C'mawwwn...

I hope we see Lorik again. He's one of my very favorites. <3

Metal, that piece is lovely! All of that detail work is marvelously executed. Tremendously done!

Obsydian, if you're taking suggestions for a background, I'd generally suggest somewhere kind of bright for contrast, or at least with a bit of bright space behind them. Since the two foreground figures are mostly darker colors, the contrast could help define the figures a bit. It depends mostly on what you what story you want to tell about what they're up to, though!

Why is it that all my BW LIS have sisters? Alistair has a sister...Fenris has a sister...I haven't played LotSB, but I saw the codexes for Solana.

Must be something about having a family that makes them attractive to my characters.

Not being North American - can someone describe to me exactly what does 'mesquite' taste like?

@Obsydian - nice drawing!! I wish I could draw turians - they're so darn... spiky!

To be fair, humanity probably would be under Turian governance if the citadel hadn't stepped in.

I saw that too, about the mesquite.... I figured there'd be a link up there to the twitter page. lol.

I hadn't thought too far ahead honestly.  It was inspired by the Appleseed gif that was floating around here so many pages back.  (i tried to find it... but i cant.)    But that is very good advice... hehe, see, this is why I don't usually do backgrounds, cause I never really think abou this stuff... and my people just float in white space forever.

Thanks Buggirl!  lol, at this point i think I draw turians better than humans. too much practice on them and only them. lol.

mesquite is very smokey flavored...  a bit like bbq.

Well it depends what part of the Mesquite you're talking about. The wood is used for smoking and barbecue. However the bean pods, when ground, have a sweet, nutty flavour.

Okay, not really.  Being occupied by pompous space chickens in uniform wouldn't be fun.  I'd probably still find them fascinating and incredibly attractive, though.

I find turains much easier to draw than people. I suppose they're more angular and since they don't actually exist there's some room for artistic interpretation in your picture without it looking weird.
