But yes, given that multiple births are more successful in the "live birth" species, I'd say it's an indication that turians do the same as mammals, it's just not proof positive.

If they are a live brth species... it would indicate that the females, at least, have no plating on their hips. Or if they do, it can expand with the rest of the skin.
Well, turian plating isn't completely rigid. The Wiki compares it to tough skin, so I'm guessing it would be able to expand under given circumstances. The plating also doesn't seem to be uniformly distributed (none on the neck, for example), so it's also plausible that they don't have any in the stomach/hip area.
