LMAO @ Steel.

OK, so it's an aphrodisiac in some instances. Just not on the sheets.

The CDN for today:

CDN sez...
A-listers are following the queen of asari pop in the latest charity trend: adopting turian children displaced by the Vallum Blast and subsequent war on Taetrus. Between reinventing herself, music genres, and everything else, Arah T’Hass adopted four children orphaned in the blast. Megastar Delilah Jordan followed suit by adopting a pair of twin boys, and recently, Columbia Rios and her husband took in a whole family of refugees. Said T’Hass, “I hope it does catch on! There’s so much suffering on Taetrus right now. It felt like the only moral thing to do. And having one dextro kitchen and one levo kitchen is totally not as hard as people make it out to be.” Asked for her opinion on the violence of the war, T’Hass replied, “The turians have their way of dealing with it. I have mine.”

Think that's a good arguement that turians have live births?

I'd say it is, yeah. I don't think egg-laying species have the phenomenon of twins. I've only ever heard it mentioned in relation to mammals.

And this whole thing about adopting turian children...do you think it could be a hint? Posted Image

Lol, sounds like Madonna.

Dunno if that guarantees live-birth. Two things of that ehhh yellow stuff in a chicken egg rarely results in living chicks as far as I know.

Chickens can have twins. It's just rare for both to survive. But if you've ever gotten an egg with a double yolk, that would have been a twin had one not "eaten" the other to survive inside the very limited environment of the egg.

But yes, given that multiple births are more successful in the "live birth" species, I'd say it's an indication that turians do the same as mammals, it's just not proof positive.

If they are a live brth species... it would indicate that the females, at least, have no plating on their hips.  Or if they do, it can expand with the rest of the skin.

Is it odd that I actually find it more interesting that the turians allowed the adoptions in the first place?

I can get them allowing an asari to do so, but "Delilah Jordan" and "Columbia Rios" both sound very human. More of that 'duty and responsibilty' attitude coming through? You can ask and you'll be allowed, but god help you if you don't live up to it? Verrrry interesting.

Don't think I've ever seen an egg with a double yolk. But yeah, as you say, survival rates would make it probable that they're a live birth species.

Well, turian plating isn't completely rigid. The Wiki compares it to tough skin, so I'm guessing it would be able to expand under given circumstances. The plating also doesn't seem to be uniformly distributed (none on the neck, for example), so it's also plausible that they don't have any in the stomach/hip area.

I buy organic, cage-free chicken eggs.  A few months ago I managed to get one of those double-yolked eggs.  My husband thought it was neat.

I'm just thinking the live birth thing might solve the innie/outie question.

So would a rifle, I would think... but not sure how that'd fit... nm, this is going no where sane.

Question.

Did Bioware even drop subtle speculation onto what Garrus' age is? I peg him to be about 23/24ish.

Yes they did. His writer said he wrote Garrus as a "young brash officer" and said that Garrus was "definitely" under 30. I'm not sure if his writer was referring to his ME1 age or his ME2 age, so at most he's 31. I myself would put Garrus at 25 or 26.

Ah, that would make sense. Thanks.

Link to the article would be nice as well, (Unless it's hidden in the Mass Effect 1 Platinum Editions special features). I have to be in the loop about Garrus happenings!

Neither would a shotgun though: they have really wide muzzles.

That's not the real problem though: kickback would HURT. Posted Image

My friend had a chicken that was really prone to have double-yolk eggs. They kept her around longer because we use to get such a kick out of it.

Smart bird.

Anyways, I'm still in favor of the egg laying...and some birds lay more than one egg a day. And some birds lay clutches. Some birds don't start incubating until the last egg is layed so everyone hatches on the same day. So laying two eggs is probably as rare as human twins. And seaturtles must do something similar, because that how we get those epic nighttime turtle documentaries with everyone making a dash to the ocean.

Aw man, I hope the turians aren't like that....

*baby Garrus struggling to get out of egg*

Mama Garrus: Can't we just pop that little part off of him?

Papa Garrus: He's no son of mine if he needs help. See? He's almost done.

*baby Garrus Renegade Interrupt*

Papa: He bit my claw!

I'd prefer the live birth. Because frankly the mechanics involving anything else would make a Shepard/Garrus pairing physically difficult if not impossible.

First, please tell me I'm not the only one who finds double yolk eggs creepy. I have both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Animal Science and for whatever reason.. I just can't stand them. I also usually buy cage free (not necessarily always organic, but definitely cage free) and aim for the smaller ones simply because they've been less likely to be doubled (in my experience anyway).

Secondly, I'd really prefer Turians laying eggs, but I'm not opposed to live birth. Live birth would give those "Turian wimminz should have boobz' sort some ammo.

Well, the turian in the Dark Star was taking care of business standing up.  So that, plus the twins... indicates a tab "A" and a slot "B" and live birth, to me.  No idea if those clues indicate such to Bioware, though.

Yeah.. no ducks.

There can be live birth but no need for glands like that.

And yes, the double egg yolks are freaky.  I'm also nearly always afraid I'm going to crack one of those things open and find a partial chick, but that's just my paranoia.

Offtopic (But Garrus/turian related):

This is where the awesome mask comes from:

There's also:
a random? turian,

an awesome Liara (aight, this isn't turian/Garrus related, but it's still great)
Posted Image

And a couple of Sarens! 1 & 2

And a looot more!

Kudos to the authors from here (if they ever see this), they're all great.

OT Edit-Addition: I wish I could find a group to cosplay with where I'm from. I once did a Clover cosplay (I was Oluha. LAWL), but it's rare to do Videogame cosplaying. And there aren't _proper_ conventions for gamers. It sucks.

And on this day, the wisemen of the Turian homeworld looked up to the stars and prophesized, on this day, the baddest Turian on the planet had been born.
