The only thing that was a bit discouraging was the comment on female turians

“how do we design a female turian, throw on breasts? draw lipstick on them?”

You guys design male aliens that don't look like human blokes yet you can’t for a second imagine femaleness that isn’t stereotypically human ? Why does this cause such a brain fart with the designers?

This.  Seriously.

It's an alien species.  They could have claimed the females DO look exactly like the males, and just given some of them female voice actors, and it'd all be cool.  But instead, "lipstick, lol."

If female turians looks exactly like the male ones I would be totaly cool with it.

Edit: Top of the paged a third time in a short time? Oh well, here comes another Garrus drawn by yours truly:

Some may find a rocket to the face painfull, but to Garrus it's just a cigarr.

That is more quotable than Churchill. Jesus F. Christ.

Also, starting to really like your art style. Very unique, yet still easily recognizable.

Thank you kindly mr Awesome Glasses. To hear that I have a personal style does boost my self esteem.

Please do visit my DA page if you want to, there are some turians and other strange creatures there.

I keep thinking "Hey, why don't I go and see what's going on in the other forums" and then it's all like "Oh my god no why I am not touching that thread with an elaborate series of networked ten foot poles." Then I come back in here and it's like "Ahhhhhhh, home." Also, apparently can't type or be coherent this morning. I blame the grey skies.

I also agree that you have a style, lovgreno, and that it is a nice one. It reminds me a little of Akira Toriyama, and I mean that in a good way! Chrono Trigger era!

And here is a funny if slightly OOC comic I found on the deviantarts.

I'm always conflicted when I find a comic or story that is well-drawn and cute but feels slightly out of character. This used to bother me less, but I spent a few years writing stuff for pre-existing IPs at one point, and I developed this character voice and backstory sensor that is impossible to turn off. It's slowly eating away at parts of my brain.

Luckily I never really read or wrote fic, so it's not like it's a big problem. Unluckily, whenever anyone says "What would X say in Y situation" my brain reacts the same way it would if my boss came in and said "We need five new dwarven bartender dialogues, but you can't mention alcohol. Go!"

Thanks Admiral and Geek.
And the comic above is one of many starring Garrus and made by Anniezard on DA. I do recomend it for people who don't mind a slightly disturbed sense of humor. In other words the standard Garrus fan if I am allowed to make a generalisation based on this lovely thread.

Hi all, I've been lurking here for quite awhile and I thought I'd share something fun for the Garrus fans :D

I've just created a private painchat board for all the Garrus fans, if you're interested to join in chatting/drawing Garrus, you can go here:
http://www.takamin.c...p?userid=537074

Of course, I'm not limiting it to Garrus only art, it's all in good fun so you're free to draw anything you like :)

Here's some example me and some members have drawn:

That artwork, it momentarily short-circuited my brain. Did the artist lick a Drell before doing those?

YEAH! I hope we can collab again soon, some of the drawings are too hilarious XD

Garrus is too much of a challenge to draw without any reference though..

LOL.  I've got the same sensor, but I'm better at shutting it up when it comes to art/comics.  I'm willing to excuse adorable fluff as long as it doesn't take itself seriously.  When it comes to fics, though, I have the same problem.  Mass Effect fic fluff isn't so bad, but DA2 fluff breaks my brain sometimes.

This fandom is making me want to get a cintiq, but I can't afford one. I also can't find the pen to my old Wacom. Why does everything hate me!

Rock the vote, y'all.

Good. Different Drell cause different hallucinogenic effects. Mixing of effects can cause chemical isotonic bonding. Consequences....unpleasant.

I know it's old news and so, but I still wanna get it out there that it's a huge relief Garrus was the first non-VS, non-Liara character confirmed as a permanent squaddie. Jesus Christ, the things I would have done had he not been in the game. Of course, the likelihood of him NOT being in the game was pretty much non-existant, but still... the mind has it's ways.

Wait, this is old news? I thought we didn't know whether or not he was permanent. Is he? I MUST KNOW. O_O

Tell me about it. I was just having a discussion with a friend of mine last night about how scary the other forums are, especially the story/plot ones. Very SRS BZNS.

I'm not sure if he's confirmed as permanent, but every source after the first GI article mentions him as a squadmate without adding that it could be "to some extent". Then again, GI is the only magazine that mentioned temporary squadmates at all.

Nobody's confirmed 100% for permanent, as far as I know. Still, it would be pretty dumb of Bioware to lift his fans up this much early on, and then have him be a one-mission cameo. It's still technically possible, though.

And I used to be ok with the plot forums. We used to have some larfs there. I met cheez, wrote some good essays on writing and game design, did some good analysis of plot stuff. Now, though everything turns into a "blah blah Bioware hates everyone blah blah they suck" back and forth. I'm waiting on some stuff I need for work to arrive in the mail, if it doesn't come on monday I may try to start or bump a few old "safe threads" in that forum.

Also, I might try to paint either a Garrus or my shep. I have a few canvases somewhere...
