Guys, one question. I've been thinking about this romance scene with Garrus. BW announced, as we all know, that there will be "sex" in ME3. So what do we want from Garrus? Do we really want a faid to black scene and a headbutt? Or do we want something little more extreme?
I personally wouldn't mind the sex scene being tastefully done with a simple fade to black. If BioWare can pull off a scene showing a bit more than we got in ME 2, e.g. shirtless Garrus & Shepard, it would be great, sure. It just would be the worst thing if they happened to ruin it somehow, make it too uncanny valley (happens easily in video game romance scenes).
What I definitely want more is little intimate moments all along the game and not just at the end scene, just Garrus touching Shepard's arm, and hugs and lovely things like that.Their relationship (if you choose to continue it, as we all probably will) has developed to the point where Garrus is going to be more confident and they should manifest their feelings more freely.
As for the wine thing discussed in the previous page, I thought it was a gift for Shepard, with Garrus just going through the motions of a "proper human date" along side with the music and all.
I agree that intimate moment throughout the game would be great. I would even like a scene or two where maybe some Humans or Turians have negative things to say about the relationship so Shepard and Garrus can defend it. That's probably asking a lot though.

Yes, I would love for there to be little moments, like you said. Somethings like checking each other's armor before a mission, significant glances in cut scenes, little inside jokes in dialogues, the tone they use to talk to each other, and hugs would be nice. Especially after Shepard gets back from a really dangerous mission. I'd also love to have different characters reacting to their relationship. Heh, I've said this all before and I will probably say it all the way up to release day!soft black stars wrote...

This, this and this! I was somehow disappointed about the ME 2 romance scene.. I was expecting maybe a make out or something after the headbump, but like you said, maybe in Mass Effect 3 we will see something more, because they will 'be more confident and manifest their feelings more freely'. <3soft black stars wrote...

*ahem* I think people often make the mistake of thinking us garrusmancers want really graphic romance scenes when we ask for "more than a head butt". As if there was no happy medium. The truth is I think most of us just want to see garrus and shep act like a proper couple finally, since ALL we've seen so far has been build up with none of the closure (at least the irrefutable, satisfying kind of closure). We can say they only really became a couple riiiiiiiight at the end of ME2 and even that can be debated by people. I mean Garrus FINALLY reaches out to her then BOOM fade to black, as adorable and sweet as that moment was, that’s ALL we got since there was not that much beforehand.
Out of everyone, Gar and shep have had VERY little physical contact, and I'm just talking about the affectionate kind here. Hugs, hand holding, face caresses, kisses, that kind of thing. Frankly I want ME3 to make up for that lack of content and ESPECIALLY make up for the fact there was no proper epilogue with him either.
With Thane you KNOW his involvement with you was that of a meaningful relationship but they still give you a beautiful letter to read in LotSB to confirm it anyway. Jacob gets dialogue after the suicide mission to confirm he's in a relationship with you and Garrus....well he gets amnesia. Now of course I didn’t expect things to get wrapped up that fast, I wasn’t expecting to talk to garrus after and hear him say “hey I love you” I just wanted some acknowledgment that SOMETHING happened. It could have been the most subtle thing so that the deeper development could be saved for the third game.
We were kind of left hanging and combine that the little to no coupley moments that happened between them and we were pretty much left starving to see more.
Sure a shirtless garrus would make me VERY happy but honestly I just want them to act like a couple most of all and for their relationship to develop into love even if they don’t say it in a cliché way. I like the tender and sweet nature of the relationship that was shown at the end of ME2 so if “that” kind of scene does happen in ME3 I hope they continue to present them in that way, it just works for them.
I have to say if they actually DID show shep and garrus being intimate (in a very tasteful, can’t see everything kind of way) I will be very surprised and impressed with bioware for not treating this pairing different from the others just because garrus looks the most alien.

I mean, to each his own, but overly exotic "cool" names on characters who should really just be named Bob or Anna given their cultural background just slaps my suspension of disbelief into the ground with the force of two million calibrations.
That's right, two million calibrations. That's two-hundred thousand tens. And that's terrible.

I agree, the lack of physical contact leaves me wanting. Garrus' "amnesia" was most certainly disappointing (and disturbing). I hope Shepard and Garrus are given the chance to be an actual couple, no matter how exactly they do it.

also, my usual gaming names are Obsydian, Ayrea, and Serenity. i use those for characters all over the place. In a place where names like, Liara or Kaidan are normal? why should my Shep have a boring name.
I get bored with "Normalcy" too often. I myself have the most common girls name in the US for ten years running... and i've contemplated changing it forever cause its boring. *shrug* but thats just me.
2. Isn't it Runic?
3. so. I'm admittedly only on my second playthrough of ME2. *sad i know* but i wil say when I got to the ending the first time, i really really wanted SOMETHING. BioWare's usually so good at that sort of thing, and it was just.... nothing. like the whole relationship never happened. I agree. I don't want to see a gratuitous sex scene. Yes, I want couple-y things.
They did it in DA2..... the changing of the outfits... and I'm sorry, but that ending scene with Fenris, "Please don't die" I nearly burst into tears....
I mean... Yes... "i just want something to go right." then Shepard caressing his face... hyes that was damned sweet. I loved that and the headbump was adorable too. But they had so much opportunity... I really hope they make up for that in the next one. seriously.
MOAR HUGZ TIEM FOR GARRUS.

That's a great picture, but the name of the FemShep makes me cringe. Looked it up, and as it turns out it's a boy's name, and a variation of Aaron.
Those kind of annoy me, too. The most exotic name I gave any of my Sheps was Rowena, and that's because it was the name of a character in a book I had to read for a literature class. That way, every time I booted up ME2, my save file would be staring me in the face, reminding me to do my homework.I mean, to each his own, but overly exotic "cool" names on characters who should really just be named Bob or Anna given their cultural background just slaps my suspension of disbelief into the ground with the force of two million calibrations.
Yup. I am clever like that.
And I thought that meme had died. Thank you for restoring my faith in the internet. That's right, two million calibrations. That's two-hundred thousand tens. And that's terrible.
Anyway, for the sake of topic relevance, here is a gay turian couple that my best friend drew for me as a present.

1. Aeryn spelled many ways, can be a boys name or a girls name, Arcian. Spelled the way i did at the beginning of this, its in Farscape. Aeryn Sun. Erin is a very popular Irish girls name.

I like the name Aeryn. And I recognized the Farscape reference right away. I have an Avery Shepard, after all, one of those odd boy names I've been using since KOTOR for female characters.

Unless...
Anyone else think that Garrus' visor has x-ray vision? Especially when he is looking at Shepard like this:

Yup. Definately mentally undressing her.
