I think Garrus knows he's attractive... for turians, at least. But, after the rocket, he loses self confidence because of the scars.

See, I've said before and I'll say again, i find turians REDICULOUSLY attractive. but I'm into the alien look. I also find Briareos attractive. Thats just me. And thats probably why i'm not too into asari. too human. I like humans, don't get me wrong... but something about the turian race. *shivers*
Nihlus has to be the most attractive being i've ever seen. no lie.
And yes. dat voice.

The only asari i actually LIKED in ME1 was the consort. she made sense to me.

I'm still annoyed with Liara for ninjamancing me in ME1 and making me have to start over my canon PT (unromanced, of course) halfway through the game. <_<

Aria, Samara, and Tela Vasir don't.  Coincidence that they're my favorite asari?  I think not <_<

I don't think it's the scars, I think it's Shepard that makes him nervous.  He's awkward because it's interspecies, and it's SHEPARD of all people who's into him.  So. Cute. 

Now I want to write Garrus/Shepard fluff again.  God knows I need it after all the DA2 angst I've been writing.

So many things today, Garrus thread! Have any of you other ladies gotten your ladies' Garrus tee yet? Mine came today. I am delighted!

Also, I had sort of a random musing today. We've heard Jacob call Garrus a cuttlebone. But, are there any insults that turians use that we know of, race-based or otherwise? I can bring to mind the scornful use of 'human,' but that's about it. I wonder what a turian would consider most insulting? Calling loyalty into question? A remark about thin hide? "Fringeless son of a defector"?

honestly moon... all that comes to mind are almost like samurai insults...  towards loyalty or honor...  i can't think of any from the game.

also i have NOT gotten my tee.   have been checking the mail like 3 times a day. lol. cause ya know, maybe i missed it.

On attractiveness and aliens:

For me, Turians aren't even the most attractive aliens. Salarians are... mmm those curves. I mean wait, what? At the same time, I didn't crush on Mordin, because he didn't seem like he'd be interested in that kind of thing.

I'm not attracted to any other Krogan, but I was sort of attracted to Wrex at first, or close to it. I'm not any more, though some of his ME1 lines still make me shiver "Head back to the normandy, kid. If you stay here in the real world, you might have to learn something." I do not usually go for that type, either. But Wrex's perfect combination of world-weariness, wisdom, and snark was music to my ears.

I wasn't attracted to Garrus at all in ME1 (too self-righteous and arrogant), but he grew on me. While out of character I know that the romance had to go right, in-character I was half expecting an inter-species awkwardness thing. I still wonder what his skin actually feels like... ahem. It's more his loyalty and respect for me that make him so attractive and tempting.

As for insults, I'd say "barefaced spawn of a Krogan" might be pretty bad. We have barefaced as an established insult meaning dishonest or dishonorable.

I didn't crush on Mordin, but I did find him extremely interesting and engaging. Even when he was too busy to talk, he at least had something interesting going on. I accidentally got his 'let's be friends' speech on my first ME2 playthrough just because I hassled him so much.

this.  Can I just say that i'm glad i'm not the only one who was somewhat attracted o Wrex?  hnestly though, i do kinda go for that type. sometimes.

totally disagreed on the Salarians. though.... however i've seen some fanart that has changed my mind just a weeeee bit.

If I found myself within the Mass Effect universe I would admit that I wouldn't turn down interest from a female Turian. (Even if they looked like the atrocious Dark Horse version...) There is just something about the Turians as a whole that is attractive to me. It might be the discipline, the order, their cutlure... But it might just be how cool they look and sound.

However Quarians are still my favorite. (Unless they get a face that is 'too human,' then they will drop a few pegs.) Quarian culture, language, and art direction are just attractive to me.

Awww Well, with any luck they'll release some other kinds of Garrus merch sometime other than this. Like, the figurine I wanted in the first place before it was cancelled. Or, pretty much anything else. Are you listening Bioware? I have money, I'm ready to throw some (more) at you!

Haha, I'm honoured.

I try to leave my fangirl days behind me. It's got to be over ten years since I wrote a fanfic... I wrote a few good ones, but I think that sort of thing really creeps my boyfriend out. And I've probably got a bit of an obsessive nature to I try to keep myself in check.

I always think I find the most random characters attractive but I guess I'm not alone. It's kind of a nice feeling. I've been thinking though, about asari being too forward. Y'know I think I find Shepard too forward. I prefer a more subtle romance where things sort of play out and not one person initiates it. But I guess Shepard can get away with it, just for being awesome. But I play Mass Effect as if I was Shepard, I can't role play a type of character I just go with how I feel and I would never come on that strongly.  Still it's all good. I got Garrus and I'd been shouting at ME1 because I couldn't get him then. My boyfriend got Tali and we're looking forward to more in ME3.

Now I'm going to try to be less obsessed and get some revision done or I'll never pass my degree...
