But when you go to DeviantArt, you've got to put some kind of filter on there because they're always doing something awful with Garrus, and, oh my God, just leave some clothes on that guy!"

Aww.... now I feel kinda bad about the shirtless, reclined Garrus drawing/painting I have in the works. :blush:

Edit: Realizing now what this fandom has done to me than I only now feel bad. :lol:

Something from the article I posted that I didn't mention but will mention here:

FAN SERVICED
"I look at fan art all the time" says Lead Artist Derek Watts. "I see if people have tried to do stuff with Lego -somebody built a giant Normandy and the Geth Walker. Thise things are hard; the Normandy's a pain in the ass to do .  But when you go to DeviantArt, you've got to put some kind of filter on there because they're always doing something awful with Garrus, and, oh my God, just leave some clothes on that guy!"

:blink:

What is he not familiar with Rule 34?

In any case, some of the best fanart are the more erotic ones. I don't know why, maybe its the passion, but some of the best, and worst art I have seen have involved nudity is some way.

Hmm, true, I personally think that 'Garrus and Shepard almost kissing passionately' are the best ones. :wub:

I'm not attracted to any other Krogan, but I was sort of attracted to Wrex at first, or close to it. I'm not any more, though some of his ME1 lines still make me shiver "Head back to the normandy, kid. If you stay here in the real world, you might have to learn something." I do not usually go for that type, either. But Wrex's perfect combination of world-weariness, wisdom, and snark was music to my ears.

this.  Can I just say that i'm glad i'm not the only one who was somewhat attracted o Wrex?  hnestly though, i do kinda go for that type. sometimes.

totally disagreed on the Salarians. though.... however i've seen some fanart that has changed my mind just a weeeee bit.

Also while we're on the subject, let me shamelessly plug my sister's artwork and her amazing female krogan. Posted Image

Don't do it.  You may like what you see, and at that point there's no turning back.

Well that doesn't look much like a krogan, and I don't think they would have breasts, but still a nice piece of artwork.

...sorry, i get a bit excited. um. yes. hi. Posted Image

Haha, I'm honoured. Posted Image

I try to leave my fangirl days behind me. It's got to be over ten years since I wrote a fanfic... I wrote a few good ones, but I think that sort of thing really creeps my boyfriend out. And I've probably got a bit of an obsessive nature to I try to keep myself in check. Posted Image

honestly, i have the most rediculously addictive personality there is... and i probably should try to keep it in check, ut why bother. if i don't let it get in the way of my life... then i'm fine.
and yeah, my boyfriend doesn't approve of fanfiction ... and i feel certain he won't approve of this. but i dont care, cause its my life not his. *shrug*  but each to their own, ya know?   i say go with what you want, just dont let it overtake everything. :D   and really, because of my fandoms, i've made some great friends.

and yes, be honored! ;D

and .... we leave SOME clohes on him.
i've got a shirtless Nihlus coming too. soon. like, WIP when i get home.

and i dont feel bad in the least. Posted ImagePosted Image

Unfortunately its not the same for Tali. All the artists either turn her into an elf, or a human. :(

Seriously...if the developers won't even show us turian *hands*, is it any wonder we want to overdose on the skin in our Garrus fanart? I mean, Thane was bare-chested and Grunt had bare arms, and those were both "textures"...so what gives? :P

Addictive personalities or not... I say, if you've found an excuse to be creative at all, go with it. Never turn down an opportunity to make something, right? There are worse kinds of addictions than the ones that make art happen.

@kglaser.... I like the way you frame this. Feeling much more justified. *snerk*

oh I LIKE where these Calibrations are going.   :D

and i thought she said something about his Thannix cannon?  i dunno, either way its kinda hilarious.  i would never romance her anyway.  ew, asari.

You Tube has failed me... someone must know! Posted Image

And ditto. It's more their personality I dislike, they know they're attractive, so it puts me off. Same for Miranda and Jacob. Tali I would if I swung that way. I'm not quite sure what I find so endearing about Garrus, I mean he certainly isn't attractive in the the conventional way. Mind you voices do it for me. Starscream... Posted Image

Another thing that annoys me about asari is that they're hitting on you left and right and there's nothing you can do about it.  Well, you can with Liara but everyone else that hits on Shep, they just stand there and smile. <_<

What drew me to Garrus was that he was compassionate but reckless and also has snarky/witty comments.  Pretty much all of my favorite characters from any series have those personality traits.

Exactly. They're far too forward. I know it's part of their culture or whatever but I don't have to like it. Posted Image

I wish more women were 'far too forward' with mePosted Image

I didn't crush on Mordin, but I did find him extremely interesting and engaging. Even when he was too busy to talk, he at least had something interesting going on. I accidentally got his 'let's be friends' speech on my first ME2 playthrough just because I hassled him so much.

'Barefaced son of a krogan!' Love it.

Mordin really was a genius character.  He was hilarious most of the time, however talking with him on his loyalty mission sealed him as one of the best written characters of all time.

Second only to my brotastic bro Garrus, of course.

Mordin's combat lines were genius.
My favorites were, "Not difficult!" and "Thought I was harmless, did you??"

The conversation right before the suicide mission cemented Mordin for me..... him calling his favorite nephew..... i loved that.... dear gods i loved that. brilliant it was. Mordin is a pretty close second to Garrus in my favorite characters list.

Sweetheart, trust me when i say ur definitely not the only one with a "rediculously addictive personality". I think u have caught glimpses of the fandom at work in the skype chats XD I myself do get...somewhat obsessed when it comes to my interests as a fangirl, but of course i dont let it rule my life. But at the same time, its who i am, and yes! I too have made great fantastic friends due to this *hugs all*. I love that I can come here [& other fansites, but here especially]  and can all chat about characters, storylines etc., with such passion for it & not feel out of place or anything ^_^

And theres NOTHING wrong with being "curious" about turian anatomy......
Thats what sparks the inspiration behind all these shirtless turian fanart images after all Posted Image
and woo! shirtless nihlus! Obsy i love you! cant wait to see it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the past pgs i read something about how ppl want Garrus & Shep to be more intimate towards each other. I want to comment on this. Everyone who has a LI want this. We've only seen the beginnings of such romances and their "consumate" ending scene like a -confirmation that the romance it definite- scene. Only romance we saw "progress" was the VS....and it progressed alright- down a cliff it did. Obviously ME3 willl be the first REAL chance we get to see the romances actually continue, seeing as its a handful of months after me2. I want to see more interaction. The tone of speech towards each other, slight movements and glances during scenes. Make it so that we know that their a COUPLE!! And i forgot who said this - someone mentioned that there should be more intimate moments throughout the game, and not just some one random scene. Ive always had this in mind with my many "scenarios" for me3. Im sure itll happen, and BW knows we want some more Garrus loving. No hardcore p0rn or anything - nuzzling and passionate hugs are a must.
though the fangirl in me SCREAMS at least one Turian french kiss.....Posted Image
