OT, I love the way he moves: when he talks about going to hell with Shepard, when he headbutts Harkin, when he walks towards Shepard during Archangel mission... that's a very well placed camera

Yes, you're crazy. But then again, so am I, cause I find him extremely dashing, especially that fringe, Jesus Christ.Yunaito wrote...
@Aris Sorry! Sorry !XD
Then sorry but ... maybe I'm crazy, huh, but I find him very physically attractive! ^.^"
And i'm a man.
Pic related, it's the fringe:
While Garrus doesn't inspire me to feeling attraction to another man, I think I get why the ladies go ape over him.
Turians are this kind of proud martial race with avian features. They have the same kind of repose as a bald eagle; majestic and confident.

probably you men like Garrus because you want to be like him
The thing that makes me appreciate him is a comment he made in ME2 when you ask him about odds of survival.
"We're going to lose people, no way around that. Not a happy analysis, I know. Don't worry, I won't go spreading it around and I'm with you, regardless."
That's a true brother right there.

Garrus is damned sexy. I thought it from the beginning. But thats cause I had already fallen for Nihlus the first time I saw him.... so to fall for Garrus was only natural. Course, I had this fear that he would die in the next 20 minutes... but still. And who else nearly died when he one-shotted that merc holding the scientist in his opening scene?? the way he moved so damned gracefully....
damn.
Also, cause its been a few pages. Manditory huz tiem.

Here ... in my case, his voice has not affected.
I mean, the Italian dubbing is nothing special!
Then I heard Brandon ...
And there was light XD
And he always will be, at least I hope so. I'm from Spain too and I'm tired of some awful dubbings: Starcraft, Dreamfall or Age of Pirates Caribbean Tales (worst dubbing EVER). Nah, Brandon is great, I can't imagine Garrus without his voice. Besides, it's a good way to learn English

I love that too.
You know what is a bit worrying though? I have a lot of pets, one of them being a bearded dragon. His name is Genghis. If I've been playing a lot of Mass Effect I keep on accidentally referring to him as Garrus.
I mean it kind of sounds the same... it's a bit embarrassing. People are going to start thinking I'm obsessed.

Yeah, probably. For me it's his personality first and foremost. I'd never actively choose for him to be anything else other than a turian though. I think they're the coolest race in Mass Effect.magenator wrote...
On a related note do you think you would still be fawning over Garrus if he were anything but a Turain. Say a Human? Or a Krogan?

Hell yeah I can't wait for the legend of korra
At first I wanted to romance gar (when I saw all the pictures of male LI's online without playing the game yet) because he was the most alien and interesting looking out of the lot . Prior to my mass effect fandom I already loved strange pairings in shows and movies and rooted for the unconventional love all the time.
Then one day I found out not only was there a sci fi rpg made with a heavy emphasis on story, characters and cinematics (my favourite elements of a game) not only could I play a female character (awesome) but I could actually ROMANCE other characters! NOT ONLY THAT but I could pair up my character with alien men! Holy hell!
I got given a game where I was in control of the character shipping and I was so happy about that. So I see garrus's picture and go "yup he's going to be the first guy" just because he was the unconventional one. But as I played both games and got to know his character he went from "the most alien looking alien romance" to "garrus" , suddenly he was no longer the strange option anymore, in fact him being with shepard made the most sense to me and still does.

You are not acting like they think their potential female costumers should act like, of course they are afraid of you. It must be confusing and frustrating for the developers to see that dinoboy Garrus are still more popular than their carefully created fangirl baits Jacob and Thane. Nothing wrong with Thane, Jacob or their fans of course.Bolboreta wrote...

And to make it even worse us guys goes for the gasmask girl... Luckily BioWare are wise enough to just give up and give their costumers what they want.

The asari a forwards because the type of person they expected to play Mass Effect was one who would love women to be forward with them. You could romance the humans in ME1 because that's all they thought people would want to do. The asari look human though, and they're acceptable in sort of Star Trek standards, if that makes sense. They're neither male nor female and maybe they are there so that men would play female Shepard to have 'lesbian' sex. What they didn't count on was that their game was bigger than they realised. That is didn't just appeal to the stereotypical science fiction nerds, but that everyone could enjoy it because every game was tailored to the person playing it. When 2 came out they listened to what people wanted.
The game has always had a negative look on xenophobia, or brought it to the forefront anyway. Everyone hates Cerberus because they're pro human. I hated Ashley because she hated aliens. Terra Firma. The list goes on. It's always mentioned and always there. And to me that is one of the most 'real' aspects of the Mass Effect universe. It rings so true. And because Bioware did it so well we learned to love the aliens for who they were and not what they looked like. So we got to have romantic relationships with the aliens in ME2. You can look at in this way: Shepard has learned a lot through the course of the first game and is now comfortable enough in himself or herself to have these relationships. We all know the asari sort of brainwash people, they look human to humans, turian to turians etc and even Mordin mentions that it's odd that he finds them interesting, salarians have no sex drive. But now Shepard is comfortable enough to look past the outside and love whoever it is for who they are.
Maybe it's not just what we want. Maybe it's what Bioware want too, but they were too afraid to be scorned for making something disgusting. They must be happy we love their characters so well. They've done a great job of creating characters tha tare 'real' enough for us to love. Even if some of us love them a bit too much.

You got a point there Voice of Kosh, I was probably underestimating BioWare. They seem to realy love creating aliens and write about them. And now that they have seen that us consumers share what some may call a odd taste in game romances they can hopefully use their imagination more freely. At least I hope it's like this.
Well the alternative is they think we're all weird and we just get a head bump as fan service because they are too grossed out to do anything more.
