Just trying to read trough every Rated: M - English - Romance - FemShep & Garrus V. story ^_^

12 down 166 to go !

wish me luck :P

Heh, feel free to skip mine. It's been on hold for the last few months (and it's still in the early stages). But if I get enough motivation.. maybe. I'm just super shy about writing fanfic since all of the characters belong to someone else (minus Shepard but even to a degree she isn't mine either).

Hmm Cheez you're a fan of Muse? Can you possibly get any more awesome?

*is still catching up on the last two pages*

@Cheez: Ah yes. I REALLY hope for that too. About time Garrus shows the fruits of his labor, and see him shine. He can finally show that Shepards guidance has paid off.
So much in fact that he actually helps Shep when he/she is down this time around, instead of the usual vice versa. [and yesh- i sneaky. heh]

the "tweets"

@SSJ_5 -
@CaseyDHudson Having in mind that Garrus returns as a squadmate, will he be given more dialogue, cause he was calibrating half the past game.

@CaseyDHudson-
@SSJ_5 Well he did have a lot of calibrations to do. By #ME3 I'd think the SR2 is calibrated enough that he should have some spare time.

^^^WOOOOO! More "spare time". ^______________^ *is giddy*

btw- LOVE turian bartender. Thats just incredibly hilarious, and yet so true. *hugs moonecho* Btw talking about the darn dossier from LOTSB. I hated that particular part. I felt like it was forwarding something horrible in the future. I hope to see Garrus reach his leadership potential even while under Shep's command. He's taking baby steps @ the start to regain his confidence, but the potential is greatly there.
Garrus for Fireteam leader Ftw!

I dunno where I fit in with the prevailing sentiment of this thread, but I wanted it stated for the record that Garrus is muh dawg. If I don't get a bro hug from him in Mass Effect 3, I'll squirt some measure of disappointment all over these forums.

[Edit: No TotP pic? :D I'll remedy.]

You fit in just fine! B)  We all want hugs, whether bro or...more romantical-like.
(by the way, you don't even have to agree with everyone to fit in here...we're fairly chill. so don't be afraid to speak up!) :)

Indeed. The Garrus thread ranges from ethnographic discussions of turian culture to fangirl squees so high-pitched that only varren can hear them to pages and pages of bro-macros and Lagen-shades.

Pretty much everything and everyone is welcome here.

Did anyone else read Casey's other tweets?

CaseyDHudson
@Nashkt We avoid giving out information that will spoil the surprises in the story, so our E3 stuff should be spoiler-free but fun to watch!

@JA9777 @skx23 #ME3 will have relationships with new characters and old friends, some of it romantic. Beyond that, spoiler territory!

@OVictorFerreira The writers have worked up some new systems and techniques for how squadmembers interact and banter with each other.

More banter, possible new romances [i demand joker!], and a showcasing @ E3! Im getting happier and happier! XD

I want this. So much. Let the man reach his full potential. Let Garrus save Shepard's ass for once. And then.. they can celebrate with a glorious shirtless hug. Hell yeah.

So, you guys been busy!
Just wanted to repost this since its been a few pages.   And I need to state my love for Garrus hugs. Everyone needs Garrus hugs. True fact.
Also, Hyrule you are my hero for making this. It's absolutely your fault that I bought both this movie and the first one yesterday off Amazon.

Back to the conversation about pet names?  I think "Shepard" is a pet name in itself .... but is it sad that I almost have trouble seeing Garrus calling her by her first name?  I dunno it always felt weird to me.

No worries.

I'm still not entirely sure what it is lol. It's a library of music that people have uploaded so it's not "official" (or maybe it is?) copies of the music but I basically was able to add everything minus a few here or there that Grooveshark didn't have (which I got from YouTube and uploaded). It's basically a free playlist that you can share with others. Unfortunately it only lets one person create and maintain the list (I was looking for something multiple people could contribute to).

I'll go ahead and add Knights of Cydonia today but not sure if I want to handle maintaining it forever (can always change my password and give it to someone else if I get bored with it).

Yeah, of all the LIs.. he seems the less likely to go to first-name basis (not that the game would allow for it anyway). In my fanfic (that I keep forgetting to add to), it's usually just "Shepard". Sometimes I cringe when he refers to her by rank but then have to remind myself about turian culture and he doesn't do it often in ME2 (seems more appropriate in ME1 where they are still sort of strangers and she is his commanding officer more than she is his friend). Occasionally, when they are alone and being extremely open with one another, I will drop in the first name but that's extremely rare.

If you ever get tired to maintaining it, I could always just copy the songs onto a playlist of my own and continue updating it. Thanks for keeping it alive. I feel kinda responsible for it. ^_^;

I hope its not too late to give a voice on the Garrus morality discussion...
(btw hello Garrus community! first time i post but i have been reading for a while)

I know the D&D morality systems are used often to make comparaisons in character morality but i feel like 'renegon' is what characterizes best Garrus. Like 2 parts badass and 1 part compassion.

One of the quotes i really to show for Garrus morality is the one about the collector base. I dont recall it word for word but he goes saying you cant distroy it because it would be wasting the ten thousand human lives that were put in it. such a noble ideal. The voice really makes you feel he cares for those who died for that abomination and that repurposing it would be the bes thing to do to honor them. Hes really taking the usual renegade outlook and flipping it around.

Now my canon Shep is more of a 'paragade' (2 parts diplomacy, 1 part that ends now). She and Garrus have the same core but diffrent methods id say.  she always uses diplomacy when dealing with 'big picture' issues and helps the less fortunate when ever she cant. But she was happy when she got to kill the pirate leader who organized th raid on Mindor and the cerberus scientist that got all her team killed on Akuze. So i guess shes ok with vengeance, but she would not go and punish every wrongdoers like they had done something to her personaly (but she would not stop a member of a family who seeks vengeance to go after lets say a slavetrader or something awful like that).

All that to say, on Garrus loyalty mission, she talked with sidonis and made sure he was responsible for what happened, then moved out of the way for Garrus. I know this isnt a very popular ending from what i read from  you guys, specially for a paragon Shep but it gives a diffrent idea of a relation with Garrus. One of a paragon Shep who admires how far Garrus would go for his ideals and will not blame someone for wanting revenge when she did the same thing. They are both on the same page about what needs to be done and when Shep cant get it done her way she knows her favorite turian has her back and will get it done. Some ppl simply need killing on a very simplistic lvl (probably not Sidonis but lets say some crazy slavetrader captain). As a big picture it certainly wont change anything for the better. But a 'paragade' Shep likes having Garrus around to kick her into action. His hotheadness can be a very compelling force to get moving and not stare at the unfairness of things for ever, balancing endlessly whose fault it is like a perfect little paragon .

oh and someone talked about what nickname Shep would give to Garrus a few pages ago... i think mine would probably call him 'hothead' now and then. Not a 'bedroom' nickname but more of an 'in action' or teasing nickname. Just like when he calls her 'Commander' with that special tone of voice... its to die for

(oh lord i hope you guys can ready that wall of text easily. English isnt my first language so all my sincere excuses in advance for the spelling/grammar)

Your English is great, outmane. And this is one of my favourite topics. I'll try to dig up some of my old posts on another thread where we were talking about the loyalty mission since it might be relevant here.

Here's the thread I was thinking of, it's pretty long but discussion has stopped so it's a good time to read it without worrying about new posts:

http://social.biowar...5/index/7317405

Can't remember which page I jumped in on.. probably 15 or so. There are some other interesting opinions on there as well :)

I also play a paragade Shepard with a renegade Garrus (though I agree, he's more of a renegon with the whole "compassionate renegade" thing going on).

It's never too late for walls of text, not in the Garrus thread! If we had a thing against walls of text I'd have been taken out and shot on my first day.

I think a Sole Survivor background gives a different perspective to Shepard (it also seems to be the most popular choice), so I can completely understand your feelings about revenge. Sole Survivors and Revenge seem to go together like ice cream and cake. My Shepard is a spacer, so she has had very little pain and suffering in her life, and can still look at the world with the eyes of an optimist. (Spacer seems like an uncommon background for cannon Shepards, I wonder why that is.)

My Shepard is also almost sickeningly paragon, and so she tries to push Garrus as Paragon as she can, knowing he'll always be at least a Paragade, if not a Renegon. I can see Shepards with less of a white knight mentality allowing Garrus to make his own choices, and that's a way to go that is completely valid. In a lot of ways, even Renegade Garrus is still the best possible version of a Renegade or Renegon - one who is doing all of this for the right reasons.

(Also, I'm continually impressed by the English skills of non-native speakers on this forum. Seriously, you guys write better than some of the native speakers we have here.)

Just another song that makes me think of Garrus and Shepard

The song is written from two different perspectives. To me, the first part of the song is Garrus' point of view (self-depreciating while he praises Shepard) but once it gets to the "roses at your feet" verse, the song changes tones, and it becomes Shepard's point of view. I'm sure you guys will understand it perfectly. Gah, it's such a romantic song!

The Rose March

Slow poked and cross-eyed
Pigeon-toed to your railroad ties
Humpbacked and sugar shacked
Shotgun wed to the poison of our past

A little longer, a little longer to go
We've a little longer, a little longer to go
I just can't help say so
Can't you see me?
Can't you see me at all?

Interspaced and pie-faced
You catch the moon
I'll just stand here and run in place
I'm shell shocked and half-cocked
The universe is full of black holes and anniversary knots

A little longer, a little longer to go
We've a little longer, a little longer to go
we've a little longer to go
Can't you see me at all? can't you see me?
can't you see me at all? can't you see me?
Can't you see me, can't you see me at all?

I'll lay roses at your feet
'til you decide there is something great in you
I'll lay roses at your feet
'til you decide there is something great in you

We've only just begun to grieve the space

There seems to be a lot of that in Team Dextro. I know quite a few girls who only romanced Garrus on their femsheps because Tali wasn't available.

And if you had asked me which one I'd pick BEFORE I actually did Garrus's romance, I probably would have picked the adorable space gypsy.

Who can resist the unbearable cute Tali, and the undeniably bro-sexy Garrus?

In keeping on topic with Garrus, Turians are and always will be my favorite "alien" species in ME. I just love the design. Humanoid enough so you can relate and apply emotion to them, yet alien enough to satisfy my xeno demands. Unlike the Asari and Batarians.

Turians are also one of the few races that have their own biological *tic* so to speak. Those little fins at the side of their cheeks. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but those little fins do alot to add human relatable emotions in an alien way. Watching Nihilus' subtly react to the sovvy attack, or when he displayed jaw dropping surprise at saren went a LONG way to making me love the art direction of ME.

Gah, I really, REALLY hope Quarians are alien like the Turians. We need less humans, and more alien.

At least in my head-canon/fanfiction, Garrus calles my Shep by her first name when they're being affectionate in private, or when he means srs bsns and needs to get her attention immediately.  But other than that, it's just Shepard.  I know a lot of people find even the mention of a first name jarring.

MY pet name for him is Garr-bear, but I think he's just Garrus to my FemShep.  Occasionally "dolt" and "hot-headed idiot" when he does something idealistic and dumb ^_^  My ManShep's bromantic nickname for him is Hotshot.  Jamie Shepard nicknames all his crew members, it drives them crazy.
