It would be great if the new gunnery chief in the Normandy had trouble calibrating the guns. So the new XO Vakarian tells him to step aside and five minutes later he returns to Shepard:

Shepard: Calibrated?
Garrus grins: Calibrated!
Epic maximum human/turian bro fist.

My male Shepards would totaly romance that.

They're not giving him a ship. It's just the old Normandy with blue paint and more toys. Which Shepard obviously steals from the Alliance when the reapers attack

Which is even more likely if indeed the VS is also a Spectre (as has been hinted at). Kaidan outranks Shepard regardless so there is also that.

Still.. I want to see Garrus fill a bigger leadership role some where.

Yep, Kaidan is a full commander while Shepard is a Lieutenant Commander. Or something similar.

Yeah, he was promoted up two ranks since the Battle of the Citadel whereas Shepard was listed KIA. He's a staff commander when you meet him on Horizon. But rank probably won't matter if the Spectre stuff is all true (and given the screenshots of his new armour, it seems likely).

Personally I would rather see Garrus being Shepard's right hand, officially or no. He has the experiance and talents in his leadership skills to lead the crew, even in Shepard's absence. (eg: The suicide mission)

yeah i suppose spending two years dead is a good way to not gain rank.... i can see Kaidan always kinda subordinating to her though..

And for those curious.. Ashley's new rank is Operations Chief (just looked it up). I don't think Kaidan's rank will mean much since he can be dead in many playthroughs.

Anyway.. that turian at the top of the page is ADORABLE and I want to hug it so badly.

Ranks schmanks. If Shep is a spectre (and personaly I don't see any reason not to be one) he/she doesn't have to care about such details anymore. Put the trusted, skilled and generaly cool Garrus on the job as XO instead. The right man on the right place is what realy couts.

i do too! it really brings out the feline in their race.

I'm not sure that when you're Commander effing Shepard, rank matters much anyway. lol. when you've saved the galaxy 17 times over.... its really hard to have a rank top that. though there are those that will try.

speaking of the VS which one are you guys going to be meeting first in ME3? I've struggled with this import decision mainly because I'm torn ,on one hand I want to see the dramatic love triangle and on the other hand I want to experience the garrus romance first without the "cheating subplot"attached to it . What to do what to do. I didn't intentionally romance kaidan by the way, but kept the save to see possible future drama.

I'm going with "cheating subplot" first because.. yay drama! But working on a Garrus-loyal version of the same Shepard as well just to see the differences (and it's a good excuse to work towards hitting level 60 in ME1). Going to be a few playthroughs before I get to see Ashley (still haven't seen her Horizon appearance actually).

He blew up a system? And since his trial is on Earth, logically Shepard had his Spectre status removed.

I'm going to play my Kaidan romance/switch to Garrus in ME 2 playthrough first. I intentionally romanced Kaidan in the first game because I didn't know Garrus was available in ME 2. I want to see the drama first and then experience the purely Garrus romance second. But I'm a bad news first kind of gal.

hmmm I think I'm gonna go with drama first then , although I wish I had actually played out the kaidan romance properly on that save to give it some meaning. It was really tacked on , I spoke to him once and then he showed up in my room, I turn him away but got a picture on my desk anyway. But I can't be asked to redo that shepard again , she's my test subject shepard not my canon.

TBH, I don't want Garrus as Shep's XO. I would never do that to him. But I do want to be able to acknowledge, further, him being Shep's Second, and her closest confidante. You can kind of do that in ME2, but I'd love to see it taken further.
