Wow, thorns out today, huh? I meant no disrespect with what I wrote.ciaweth wrote...

I'd love him as my XO, but I'd be totally fine with just having him as my Vice Brommander.Eradyn wrote...
TBH, I don't want Garrus as Shep's XO. I would never do that to him. But I do want to be able to acknowledge, further, him being Shep's Second, and her closest confidante. You can kind of do that in ME2, but I'd love to see it taken further.I think I can speak for all of us when I say we all love him for being the awesome, sniping vigilante that he is. But the incredibly important thing you're not taking into consideration is that Garrus needs to grow as a person. His issue with bureacracy is something he needs to accept, because its such an integral part of day-to-day life that he won't be able to live in a normal society if he continues to reject it. Just look at where it got him in ME2 - he went to the most lawless hive in the Terminus Systems, waged war against the three largest merc groups on his own and nearly got himself killed had it not been for Shepard's nigh-divine intervention. Even though the population of Omega venerated him for his efforts, he even remarks he barely put a dent in it. His anti-regulations, vigilante persona is self-destructive and it will kill him if he doesn't change, to absolutely no ones benefits, the very least his own.ciaweth wrote...
Garrus as XO? With all the paperwork that incurs, I think he'd hate it. I was fine with having Miranda as XO in ME2 because she was clearly good at it. Whoever's good at their job, that's who I want in that role. Garrus is good at sniping things and leading teams, bad at bureaucracy, so he's coming with me into the fire.
Letting him adjust to the position of XO - not seamlessly, of course, he will fight it in the beginning - would be an excellent example of character development since it shows he's starting to be realistic about his place in the galaxy and the extent of his influence - that you can't put a gun to the head of the galaxy and force it to abide by the law, and that lawlessness against lawlessness is about as good as fighting fire with fire.
Uh, thanks, Arcian, I'm familiar with that concept, having talked about it about a thousand times in this very thread over the past, oh, quite a while. I didn't say I was going to glue him to my frigging hip. I said that he doesn't belong as my Shepard's XO. In my view, that would be the same overshadowing nonsense that the Shadow Broker mentioned in the dossier.
You're of course entitled to your opinion, but please don't dismiss mine as a failure to consider some details that are obvious to bloody everyone.
EDIT: TOTP tiem.
