You know, there is a theory where there are infinite universes and we exist within but one of many. This is a theory that everything we have ever thought of, or will ever think of, exists in some universe. So somewhere out there in another 'verse, turians are real. And so is Garrus. Unfortunately, this also means there is a universe out there where reapers also exist.
So what does this mean? This means, if we ever find a way to punch holes through universes, we must find one with turians and without reapers.

I am very sure that Joker has been collecting xenophilia for many years now.Surmansuuhun wrote...
You know once Joker finds out about Shepard and Garrus he's going to watch some Human x Turian porn (if he hasn't already, for the lulz). His mockery will be so much more poignant with research.

Maybe he'll come and speak to Shepard to ask if he can leave the team and go back to Palaven. He knows that now they respect him, perhaps he can muster an army strong enough to take on the reapers. Shepard can choose to make him stay, and his loyalty will force him to, or let him go for the greater good. He walks off. If he's a love interest a paragon interrupt allows Shepard to tell Garrus she loves him. He stops and turns to face her. He tells Shepard that he couldn't have come this far without her, that he is great because of her. He says that he never thought he'd say this to anyone, let alone a human, but he loves her too.
He leaves the team and Palaven becomes loyal. And you can go and visit him whenever you want.

In fact, that kind of spells bad news. What if his family died when Palaven was demolished?

I don't want to be the wet blanket here, but Palaven is mostly in ruins in ME3. As much as I'd want to visit that planetary corpse, I don't think it'd do anyone particularly much good.

He's had everything he's held dear ripped from him over the years anyway. C-sec, the chance to be a Spectre, the achievements of the SSV Normandy all swept under the rug, Normandy's destruction and Shepard's death, the betrayal by Sidonis and the destruction of his squad on Omega... but he managed to endure. And his attitude is "I'll be here if you need me."
I think as long as he's got a team to fight for and with, he's got something to live for. This goes x2 for femsheps who've unlocked the "Headbump" achievement.

and this is why Palaven destroyed means terrible things. I mean we know he didn't get along famously with his father... right? but ... the rest of his family? damn. poor dear has really lost everything. ...and ithink that could either bring him closer to the Normandy crew. of course it coudl also pull him away... seeing as how maybe he wouldn't want to get close to anyone anymore for fear he might lose them.
so many possibilities.

Honestly, I don't think fear of being hurt is Garrus's style. His whole life revolves around taking the unreasonable risks. Living that way wouldn't make any sense to him, and that, dear reader, is why I love him.
I mean yes there's the snark and the grace and the voice and the loyalty. But when it all comes down to it, me showing up and saying "what's up laddie, maybe I'm an evil science zombie now but I don't think I am so will you throw reason out the window and come with me, because I need you?" and him deciding to come along is what makes him better than anyone else.
And then, falling for me despite the fact that I'm his commanding officer, a different species, and he knows that I have an ex that I haven't entirely gotten over? Yeah. There's no reason to imagine that might be a good idea. But he does it because it's who he is.
Garrus is brave. Stupidly so. I'm not going to say he's not afraid of anything, obviously he's afraid of losing people again, afraid of screwing up, afraid of letting his family down, afraid of all sorts of bad things happening and it all being his fault. But he doesn't let that fear rule him. He does what he thinks is best regardless of the risk, or wisdom, of doing it. Garrus isn't going to say "I've lost everything, time to pull back." He's going to say "I've lost everything, time to get something else good going so I can lose it too. What's life if you don't have a thing to lose? It's an empty hell."
Losing Palaven would hurt him, scar him, damage him, maybe. But stop him? Hold him back from committing himself? Hell no. That's not life.

I've been thinking about the first intimate moment I want for Shepard and Garrus in ME3.
Assuming that she still has her quarters in the Normandy, I imagine Shepard entering them after leaving Earth, tired and angry. Garrus is coming out from the bath (he has moved in to her room, of course), shirtless, and she sees him. He leans on the wall with a smirk and she forgets her anger. After that, I think he would lead her to the bed without stopping staring at her.
I don't mind what happens next, a fade to black or whatever. I just want this to happen
