Casey Hudson basically just confirmed better bromance in ME3. Check his twitter.

Brokarianites rejoice!

*Fist pumps*

Hell yes.  My femShep may have romanced Garrus, but I'm glad non-romantic relationships are being worked on for ME3.  I have been waiting for this so long.

Edit: TotP - An oldie but an epic goodie.  In honor of epic bromances.

I've heard bad things about how the same-sex romance in DA2 was handled; I appreciate more dialogue with Garrus, but I think I'm going to get really unhappy really fast if he starts hitting on my MaleShep out of nowhere. It would just be out of character for both of them.

I'm hoping there will be new characters designed with it in mind and that BW won't go DA2's route and make every. single. person. bi.  I know some are speculating Vega might be an option and one (or some) of the as-yet unannounced new characters.  Of course, it's all speculation at this point. :P

I thought BW had confirmed that there would be no new love interests? Any romance options would have to be characters that have already been introduced to us.

It seems they have listened to the complaints about "unwanted" gayness in other games, since in ME3, characters hitting on you will depend on how you behave. You'll have to make the first move, and it's probably going to be a system that works well.

I like this update. <3

To be honest..none of the currently existing male love interests would really fit for M/M. The reason is that literally all of them had history with women already and all of their romances are quite tailored to females/female Shepard in the dialog. "Reach and flexibility" doesn't quite have the same feel to it when it's two dudes.

I'm premising/hoping that there will be some VERY CLEAR trigger dialogue, and if you don't trigger it there will never be any indication from the character that romance is possible.

To give a clear example (and also remedy the fact that there aren't any Garruses on this page yet), one of my favorite Mass Effect comics.

WTB actual "flirt shamlessly" dialogue wheel option!

From what I've been hearing, that actually isn't nearly as confirmed as previously thought.  Unless I'm getting confused with something else that came out.

You know Garrus is the nerd right? Outcast of his society, socially awkward, superhero sense of justice. He's a techie, more interested in calibrating the gun than talking to people. He even has the glasses in a way. Knew there was a reason that I found him attractive that was grounded in social norms.

If Garrus was a human, I could imagine him with glasses, but with some nice biceps;)

Speaking of calibrations...

This thread is horrible. It makes you gay. But that is a good thing, right?

Nice comic btw. Not everyday you see Garrus sweating:D

Haha, I once wrote something about how I consider Kaidan to be like the "sensitive yet manly popular guy" in a John Huges movie, while Garrus is the "nerdy best friend" type. In movies like that, I tend to ultimately prefer the nerdy best friend.

And he's not conventionally nerdy... just hollywood nerdy, which means he's actually hot and gets all the good lines, but isn't as "conventionally attractive" as the actual main love interest.

I don't know, I think Kaidan would be good in a  M/M relationship. It makes sense to me, even if he had a history with women. I don't recall him ever talking about being in a romantic relationship with someone (just that he loved that one girl in Brain Camp, feel free to correct me, I forget if he gave another example). And besides, even if he had a relationship with a woman, BioWare could still make him swing the other way. They did it in Jade Empire. Sky had a wife a kid at one point, but they made him bi (in all honesty that m/m relationship did feel a little forced). I think they could make it work with Kaidan. But, hey, I would love to see James Vega be a super manly gay man. I tire of the pretty boys at times. I'm excited that they're finally giving the option for gay Shepard. I'm going to have to make a single Sheploo for this express purpose!
