What quenches your thirst? I’m a caffeine addict and am trying to lose the Coke habit. For awhile I tried Monster Energy drinks, but I found that even if I drank them at 9am, I’d have difficulty sleeping. I’m waking myself up with black tea with vanilla from the Republic of Tea lately and I also like Numi Golden Chai, but not only is that expensive, I have to make a trip across town to the World Market.

I also drink Oregon Chai, which is a box of liquid you mix half-and-half with milk.

I used to drink juices all the time, but now prefer ‘smoothies.’ I’ll mix a banana with milk and a scoop of vanilla powder and drink it in the morning. It tends to last longer in my belly than juice did.

What else? I like Odwalla’s ‘Superfood,’ which is a smoothie with juices, barley grass, and wheat sprouts. It thick, green, and tastes something like baby food might. Only my local supermarket doesn’t stock it (though World Market does) so I just by the store brand, which apparently has astronauts in it or something.

:o

I'll drink anything from my name to wines, to fruit juices to iced teas but I do not like:

1. Carbonated non alcoholic beverages- the cokes and fantas and sprites of the world.
2. Smoothies.

I reserve special dislike for Red  Bull (carbonated moose ******) and Dr. Pepper [Carbonated Muscle rub]. Or what I imagine them to taste like anyway.

While I've never snorted Coke, I have occationally shot it out my nose while reading imported_beer's posts.

As we're talking about our dislikes:
Beer, coffee, and rum. Nasty stuff.

This year, I discovered that tequila is a worthwhile alcohol. Yeah, I know, I know, but I don't drink much and always assumed it was crap due to the various associations.

I have two five gallon jugs of water delivered to my house every two weeks. I have no idea how much of it I consume alone and how much goes into teas.

Used to be Pepsi. Now it's water. I blame my doctor.

I love coffee but generally don't drink it. I find if I get started, usually I'm also the one who has to refill. Image IPB

On an average day I don't really drink... anything. Milk for breakfast and water or coke for dinner. I rarely eat or drink in between.

Usually I drink either green tea or oksusu-cha (which is a kind of Korean roasted corn tea. I also mix it with roasted barley tea, bori-cha), and when I run out of those I stick to hot chocolate with cinnamon and marshmallows in winter, pepsi or mineral water in summer.

Have you tried Mezcal? I was very surprised by how much I liked it if it is the decent stuff. It is a cousin to Tequila. Not as smooth as good sipping tequila, but it is smoky, sweet, warms your solar plexus, and doesn't `rasp' if you catch my drift.

I make tea in the cool months, iced tea in the warm months, and try to have wine at every dinner.

Gin, scotch, or bourbon when out; cognac after a fancy meal in. ;)

I'm physiologically unable to have beer. Not sure whether this is a bad thing.

Liquids are good for you. They reduce cravings, regulate your chemicals, and make sure your blood doesn’t get too thick. Your blood could be ketchup paste right now and you wouldn’t even know it.

I have not. I’m behind on my alcohol. There was also some new drink coming out of Mexico/South America I was interested in, but promptly forgot of.

Mezcal; I will look for it next time I’m in the market.

But it takes so much effort to walk all the way out to the sink. D:

I like ketchup paste. I fail to see the problem.

Two cups of India chai latte every morning with a dash of honey and milk. But to quench thirst, water. Also, I love very cold non-fat milk.

Like i_b, I don't like carbonated non alcoholic drinks. However, I do love dry apple ciders.

@Maria.

See if you can find some Añejo. Or aged Mezcal.

The White Mezcal tastes ...harsh.

Coffee in the mornings, herbal tea and water in the evenings. Wine just after work or at supper, the odd beer, the odd heated liquer.

If we ever end up in a restaurant together and there's a lack of condiments, my butter knife will be searching for a vein.

I sip it plain at room temperature. It will feel like it is raising your body temperature by a few degrees, so it would be good to wait until winter has really really set in.

Don't buy the ones with the worm larvae in it. It doesn't do anything as far as I can tell.

Just guessing, but I think it may be the local Korean grocery. :D If there isn't one near you, you may be able to get it online from here.

Juices and water. Rarely, on special occasions or if I feel like it, I like some kind of soft drink.

There's one tea shop where I live (Poland), so I basically tried everything they have there. There are mostly Asian teas, and those two I mentioned are kind of popular in Korea and Japan. Anyway, good stuff, maybe you'll find them somewhere
I also recommend Asian bubble tea. It's considerably easy to make, if you have tapioca pearls. I think there are several good recipes around the interwebz.

I am currently trying, once again to give up caffeine. So my drink of choice is water for now.

I don't drink alcohol of any sort very often these days, but my favorite drink is the Irish Car Bomb. After that it would be particular selections of i_b's namesake. Due to a bad college experience, even the smell of tequilla causes my stomache to churn.
