I bought Awakening the day of release back in march and everything was fine, only glitch I encountered was the Vigilance and Sentinel bug. Ever since I downloaded the patch to fix the PS3 3.3 firmware update debacle, my game will no longer start. It loads, but it NEVER gets past the "Checking save data" screen. I've scoured the forum but I cannot find a definite answer to this. Are there any PS3 users w/ the retail version of Awakening who have gotten it to work or is the game broken by yet another faulty patch?
Awakening will not play at all.

From what I know is... (if you have a retail DISC)
When you first install dragon age awakening, you need to install a patch for "dragon age origins" (that patch is on the awakening disc which is not the latest ps3 1.02 patch). You then install game data for the awakening.
But it sounds like people have trouble, after they install the latest ps3 1.02 patch first. I am thinking maybe you have to install Awakening's patch before this 1.02 patch for origins.
One solution can be deleting the all the game data utility, disable the network connection on the PS3 and then reinstall both the Origins and Awakening, then get back online and get the latest 1.02 patch for Origins.

I have the exact same problem and I'm getting pretty frustrated because I haven't played this game once since I bought it due to this issue.
