I've seen the threads on ATI crashing. I just got the game, so haven't tested myself, however, I can suggest one thing. Go into the 3d Settings in the CCC, and disable the 'Catalyst AI'. World in Conflict crashed repeatedly with this option on. Once I disabled it, everything was fine.
Not sure if this has been tried...figured I'd toss it out there.

I have an ATI 4870 card, and after I updated my motherboard's drivers (nForce 650 SLI), the game seemed to be more stable.

ATI 4870 win7 touch wood no crashes atall after 50+ hrs.

Also, as stated in the older thread, underclocking can solve, or at least ease your problems. I underclocked my 3870 by 8% and had no crashes since then, compared to crashes every 5 to 60 seconds.
