afer sending a few e-mails back and forth with GAME they have stated that the standard edition of 'Dragon Age: Origins' will not contain the Blood Dragon Armour or the DLC Stone Prisoner, below is the E-Mail i recieved: -
------
Hi ,
Thank you for your email.
In the product details for Dragon Age:Origins (standard edition) on GAME's website clearly state;
'As the spiritual successor to BioWare's Baldur's Gate, one of the most successful role-playing games in the industry, Dragon Age: Origins represents BioWare's return to its roots, delivering a fusion of the best elements of existing fantasy works with stunning visuals, emotionally-driven narrative, heart-pounding combat, powerful magic abilities and credible digital actors. The spirit of classic RPGs comes of age, as Dragon Age: Origins features a dark and mature story and gameplay.
Dragon Age on PC Features:
Epic Party-Based Combat - Dragon Age: Origins will introduce an innovative, scalable combat system, as players face large-scale battles and use their party's special abilities to destroy hoardes of enemies and massive creatures.
Powerful Magic - Raining down awesome destruction on enemies is even more compelling as players apply "spell combos," a way of combining together different spells to create emergent unique effects.
Deep Customization - Players will develop their characters and gain powerful special abilities (spells, talents and skills) and discover ever-increasing weapons of destruction.
Your Story, Your Way - With its emotionally compelling story, players choose with whom they wish to forge alliances or crush under their mighty fist, redefining the world with the choices they make and how they wield their power.
Origin Stories - Players will select and play a unique prelude that provides the lens through which the player sees the world and how the world sees the player. The player's choice of Origin will determine who they are and where they begin the adventure, as they play through a customized story opening that profoundly impacts the course of every adventure.'
The Stone Prisoner Quest/extra Character and Blood Dragon Armour for DAO and ME2 is for theCE Edition only.
There is no mention of of DAO's or ME2's. There is no mention of these extras on the EA website either.
I am very sorry for the dissapointement caused and if you would like to continue with cancelling your order please confirm that you would like to do so and I will action your request for you.
Apologies,
Naomi
The Team at GAME

As you can see, thay state that they are ONLY for the Collectors Edition.
Can EA or Bioware make an official statement about this?"

Have cancelled my pre-order and will now be picking this up second-hand.
Disgusted with the way EA handles the UK market yet again.
**edited to clarify

I thought that was the whole point of buying the CE. I've pre-ordered the standard edition from Game and will end up buying all the DLC anyway.

Yes, the CE does have a number of special bonus items not included in the standard version, but Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor DLC codes were supposed to be included in ALL new purchases of the game, retail or digital, for free (Bioware's incentive to persuade people to buy the game new and not second hand). And as far as I know now, they do in all other countries. Except in the UK EA messed it up again...Fodder007 wrote...
Why would the standard edition contain any extras??

See also the remarks to the left on this page: http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon
And see the discussion thread on this on the Bioware DA forum.

"Every new retail box of DA:O contains a promotional code on a promotional code card which when redeemed provides a free download of The Stone Prisoner. Digital purchases of DA:O will have the code emailed."
Which is more likely - that Bioware are engaging in fraud, or that Game do not know what they are talking about?

Yes. People have read the sticky. The problem is that the information given is only for north america, and they're in the UK.SheffSteel wrote...

Any version - normal or CE or Digital Deluxe includes a code for:
- The Stone Prisoner
- Blood Dragon Armor (for DA & ME2)
The CE*, has the above PLUS:
- 3 CE bonus DLC items
- Plus the actual CE additional physical goodies such as the case, Making Of dvd, map, wallpapers, soundtrack, etc
* There are differences with some countries/regions, such as UK
Of course, that's a quote from the sticky thread covering this exact topic... which is where, if anwhere, we will get the next official message.

Can we pick the third option and assume that as a developer, Bioware doesn't really know what their publisher will do. Bioware did state that the Warden's Keep DLC being included in the digital download was to make up for the missing tin can and map that people buying a digital version wouldn't get, yet the UK collector's edition contains neither tin can or map and still doesn't have Warden's Keep.
Two large retail stores (amazon and GAME) and EAStore UK all claim that you ain't getting Shale with the normal version. On the other hand you have a Bioware page saying that you do. Which side you choose to believe is your choice of course, but the silence from Bioware's side and consistent denials about the codes being included from companies actually involved in the UK distribution don't really paint a pretty picture.

Someone needs to get their f*cking act straight in the producer/retailer department.
EDIT: I checked Amazon.de -- their page for the normal version of Dragon Age specifically includes a mention of the Stone Prisoner and the Blood Dragon Armor, whereas the Amazon.co.uk page does not. What the hell is this?

I'm going to consider alternative ways of buying the game, I note the EA site does list the dragon armour as in the standard edition but not the Stone prisioner. A pity really it's only the stone prisioner I'm after but I'm not paying extra for it when non UK customers get it free.
I also am going to wait for confirmation it works ok with windows 7 as I'm upgrading tomorrow since they refuse to offcially say, although I would assume it does as Window 7 and Vista are not that far apart.
