I'm from Denmark; the retailer I pre-ordered from haven't answered my email on the issue yet, but they didn't list any of the DLC on the order description page. The EA site, however, only have the blood dragon armour included in the regular edition - but I don't know if my retailer offers the armour. :?
The box edition is $64 and assuming the DLC prices are the same for the EU, I'll end up having to pay $79/52€. Admittedly, it's almost the same price as the Steam offer, but they include two additional rings as well.

I'm glad there is a response from the devs and I hope they'll come back to us on this ASAP. I don't like the unequal treatment, but most annoying of all is that it's so hard to figure out what we're buying - I don't mind the DLC at launch, but when some retailers have this item, some missing that - bonus items for all kinds of weird stuff; well, I really don't like that. Just sell me the bloody game, okay!

This guy has it spot on. EA / Bioware has taken this trouble onto themselves, with all the pre-order bonuses and bull****.

I got so fed up with the "will it/won't it" that i basically begged anyone from the states to gift me the US DDE on Steam because it actually comes with the stuff we've been promised.
i'll then get a standard edition 2nd hand from where ever i can find it cheapest so that i have a physical copy. Even though i doubt that steam will be disappearing anytime soon, i feel safer having a physical copy. And as the DDE bonus items and DLC are tied to my bioware account (not steam), i can use the standard disc to install the game should anything happen to steam :)

Hmm.. Cancelled the regular and decided to fork up more for the collector's edition. Soundtrack might be good, and all those extra little thingies.. Yeah, it does suck, but atleast now I don't have to worry - I know what I'll get and that's that.

Having said that, the scheme and marketing tactics in this case are exceptionally disgusting, which just goes to show you that EA is never good for the gamer. For example, I am waiting for an announcement on the Nov 2nd that "Oh sorry, we decided to put Securom in after all."

Amazing that BioWare hasn't sorted this out yet, surely they must know what the SE & CE contain ?.......or is this all determined by what the average game shelf price is in each country ? ie. cut the content to get the price competitive !

Yes, that sounds about right. Bioware knows what they had originally planned for the game, and what they agreed on with EA (USA/Canada), but regional EA branches may have different opinions on this, as retailers (especially those who buy the exclusive rights to the CE) also have a lot of say over what ultimately goes into the box and what doesn't... and I'm sure the current (lousy) GBP exchange rates play a big role in this equation as well...

Thanks. Could you also get confirmation for the standard editions in other european countries?

And after that, I'd suggest an update in the Add-on section of the website, including the different deals and prices for DLC in different countries.

Tired of hoping for the best so I have pre-ordered the steam version which is better value rather than hope EA are shamed into showing their UK customer some respect.

I'm sure Bioware have to check with EA marketing to find out what they are up to.

UPDATE:

Hi, everyone. I received a response this morning
from DA producer, Fernando Melo, who's been working like crazy to get
this cleared up. Thanks to Fernando and Jason Leong for kicking this
issue further up the chain.

From what information we've been given, it looks like all versions of the game in the UK--digital download, retail box, collector's edition and standard edition--will have both the Blood Dragon Armour and The Stone Prisoner.

This
appears to be a simple miscommunication with some retail sites. EA is
now working to correct this misunderstanding by fixing the information
on the EA Store and asking retail sites to change the information they
have as soon as they can.

Thank you all for bringing this to our
attention. We hope this alleviates your concerns regarding the UK
versions of Dragon Age Origins.

Remember to stay tuned for the big DA announcement in just a little while!

This is great news. Thank you to Fernando Melo and Jason Leong for taking the time to clear this issue up, which, I am sure they will appreciate was a genuine concern to the UK customer base.

Bioware is one of the few game developers out there that do seem to care about their customers and I will continue to support them in the future becuase of this attitude ... oh and they do make great games too ;)

It is worth noting that Stanley has been very careful to only say how things appear based on the information received. Since appearances can be deceptive is probably worth waiting until the situation has been confirmed before deciding one way or the other.

after issuing a statement like that and EA seeing the outcry that went up from the issue in the first place i cant imagine them leaving it out now even if they did intend to in the first place.

Probably just a misconception or a matter of communication not getting across properly. Happens (nearly) all the time.

Yeah, assuming that we don't get completely ripped off on the price of the Warden's Keep DLC (it's $7 in the US, so let's say £5 here), you can get all the "real" content for £10 less than the Collector's Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition. Sounds good to me.

I suspect this misscommunication was why EA was able to get away with gimping the CE version of the UK CE.
