So far we've got a flamethrower, missle launcher, freeze cannon, mini nuke, beam lance (Collector laser) and even a shock weapon.

A mini gun would round out the arsenal nicely.  Who can resist it's ability to reduce anything in its sights to confetti?

What say you?

I support this idea.

...and I know that matters to the devs. ;)

I wonder why they call it a mini gun :/

But yeah, i'd support it.

Because it was originally mounted on aircraft, and by those standards, was small.

i was thinking about this too, but i feel like it would be unusable, because look at the revenant's recoil, and imagine how much recoil an actual minigun would have. it would be ungodly.

If you look at the ME2 files, there actually IS one called "minigun DLC" or something like that. :D

I'd like something similar to the Mulcher in Gears of War 2; you know, a big Gatling gun that literally shreds people at close range. They tend to do that IRL.

The closest idea to a mini-gun and how it would work in the game is the big androids which shoot you and then always fire a missle after words. I could work just you would have to be able to duck in cover quickly if you where to use it on hardcore or insanity.

Yes, a mini gun that you can mount onto cover for increased stability and accuracy would be awesome for tearing apart Collectors, you have my full supportPosted Image

Minigun is good. Tougher and more enemies (and more aggressive enemies) then aswell

Yup, Minigun would be badass. And it would sort of make sense with Shepard too, because with his/her cybernetics he probaplyis is able to wield one unmounted and shoot it without falling over from recoil.

6000+ rounds per minute mayhem, yummy!

Through save editing it looks like a revenant (since it hasn't been implemented, and I believe you can implement it through save editing) but a Revenant firing that fast is like a seizure machine.  If they actually implement I wonder what it would look like...

Already in the game It's called the Revenant. Also the idea behind a multi barreled gun in ME's universe is kinda stupid, why would you need to cool the barrels, when the heat sink already does that.

It is a mounted machine gun where Revenant is portable light machine gun, and Revenant produces heat too. Dont quote me on this but LMGs barely hit 1000rpm where gattling type weapons spray death from 3000 to 7000rpm with surprising accuracy (something movies and games tend to get wrong). It produces heat many times more than single barreled LMG with only one barrel, so multiple barrels do make sense unless you want to constantly swap heatsinks.

Heh, 60000rpm sounds like fly fart. :) And 1000000rpm in the vid is practically 180 round shotgun.  :D Very nice prototype, though I have hard time figuring practical uses for it. Minigun and its offsrpings are already considered slight waste of bullets. :D

This weapon uses caseless ammo, so less copper used in manufacturing the rounds. All the rounds are lined up one right behind the other in each barrel and if one round miss fires the next bullet will just push it out the barrel. But the other though of using said weapon is anti missile/anti mortar/artillery projectile, even anti aircraft. Also you can have different barrels loaded with different ammo types so instead of reloading to fire certain rounds you just change the select switch and pull the trigger. If the weapon has four barrels barrel one might be loaded with stand rounds, barrel two might be loaded with rubber rounds, barrel three might have steel core rounds, and barrel four could have inciderary rounds. As for reloading it would reload via barrel cartridge making it a rapid reload weapon.

Now THIS video makes much more sense. My criticism was more pointed in that particular prototype in the vid, what practical use it could have.

I would hold off on heavy weapons for a while; seeing as we already have enough of an arsenal to impress even the motliest of heavy weapons guys. I would rather Bioware focus on rounding out the heavy pistol side of the arsenal; and from there focus on adding new sets of modular armor. After that's done, by all means go back to heavy weapons.

I personally could care less. The Revenant is fine and makes more sense than a MENNIGUNNZ in the ME universe.

I'll pass on another heavy weapon. I barely use them myself. I only use the Arc Projector on Haestrom and on the Alarei and sometimes I use the Cain in the Collector Base. And that's it.

If Bioware must give us a weapon I'd rather have them give us that M-5 heavy pistol, or anything else that's not a heavy weapon.
