I too have just played ME1 again after about 5-6 straight playthroughs of ME2. After playing the Overlord DLC I felt a strange urge to return to where it all began.

My thoughts were to record major plot events on YouTube so I could get to them easily for nostalgic reasons. However, I found out I was having a lot more fun as I went along. Combat at first was rocky (I kept throwing grenades and could not get used to space bar as the powers screen) but I soon readjusted. The ending of ME1 (Virmire onwards) is pure video gaming gold. The amount of customization for Shepard and your team may be a nightmare to some, but it was fun to return to for me. I'm a strange duck I guess.

I played it on PC though and I still get a lot of bugs though, but it was all worth it. Even if my Shepard looked like she was in another dimension when she activated Barrier...

haha yeah its awesome i was playing it on my xbox and for some reason it never updated it and it was buggy as hell as in kadian was phasing in and out of this dimension and I got trapped underground a few times as well on the ground being caught in a stasis field and not being able to move (ever) or even press start button as my guy just lay for a good ten mins (went away for a cup of tea) came back still lying on the ground lol but it was still awesome tho :D

I put down ME1, haven't played it for like 6 or so months now... I think the last I played it was on the 24th of January and just today I decided to pick it back up to make the perfect playthrough to stop the reapers in the 3rd game. and it just seems kind of odd transitioning back to the clunky combat of the first. everytime I want to cover I hit the A button like an idiot, and forget that I have to crouch first to get into cover behind low objects, its actually quite refreshing :P

My first play through of Mass Effect I did the paragon option to make Saren kill himself and was like "Oh, um okay. No final fight?" Luckily, Sovereign took over his body.

You mean there are other endings?? Ha - I just recently started playing the ME games on the recommendation of an online aquaintance (and, boy, do I need to remember to thank her for that). I've only played through ME1 once but that was the ending I got. She was such a paragonial Shepard: 'now Saren, you know what you did is wrong...' I need to try it again and see what's different.

Gary, you can get a character to 60 in one playthrough by doing all the sidequests.  Hope that helps.

Try playing as a Jerk and the game will be vastly different.

It's a proven fact that you can only get to level 58 if you push yourself really hard.  Can you tell me how you got there please?

btw sorry if that sounded mean, im not really good with words
