I love Dragon Age and the whole universe but I was so put off by DA:A that I sopped playing about a month and a half ago and I haven't gone back.

It all started with when I transfered my DA:O character over and the game started with none on my equipment  or weapons and had to watch the opening with my character in his underwear.

It continued up until I tried to make Sigrun a Grey Warden and it jumped to the end of game. It sucks that I spent all that time developing my character to have it unplayable.

I hope when DA2 comest out I can bypass all my awakenings and go from the end of DA:O to DA2Posted Image

Did your character start out with Warden Commander's Armor? That would explain it. DLCs state that this armor set will not carry over onto the expansion. In fact, no armor or weapons save for what you find in Return to Ostagar will carry over. It is important that you remember this, if you don't know it already.

IF, however, you know about this, and you are wearing a normal armor set that just happens to not work at all, then I send you my condolences, for I do not know any other possibilities beyond the Warden's Keep explanation.

I didn't have on my Warden Comander armor I had on my regular non DLC armor. My weapon was DLC.

It must have been pretty funny to the darkspawn seeing a Grey Warden with not cloths running at them trying to kill them with his bare hands.

It's a good thing naked is a +2aromor rating

My warden was naked too at the start, but I had a laugh and then just moved on since I had Wade's armor or some other set in my bags.

Don't kill the broodmothers in Kal'Hirol, there is a door deep into Kal Hirol that leads up to the Knotwood Hills, that is sort of a cheap hint to say, dude something big could be happening up ahead, here's you chance to turn back and not end the game prematurely.

I think I got to the point where the fustration won. I would play for half an hour then it would freeze then I would restart again and it would freeze again then it would jump again.

I think if they waited and tested it for a little while longer and not been greedy for the $39.99 I paid for it. I would have enjoyed it a lot better.

The game freezing and jumping is pretty severe, yea sounds that's pretty much unplayable. This is probably wishful thinking but, the upcoming patch might cure some of the issues - http://social.biowar...index/2966587/1

That door to Knotwood is a cheap hint, I knew there was something to it, but I went and killed broodmother as well, after completing the game, I just reverted to an auto save and not kill the broodmother too. I like Awk plenty, but it does give off the feeling that it was rushed, like it could have used another 10% more polish. (... ok ok percentage debatable)

you know there is a 3rd party fix that allows DLCs to transfer into awakening.

That's just for the PC version though isn't it?

When I started Awakening, my back pack was loaded with all the goodies from Origin...The only weapon who didn't make it was Starfan...I'm playing on PC.

Damnit! Lol we got far too many people assuming everyone is playing the PC!!
Perhaps Dragon Age SHOULD have been only for the PC...... :?

known or not..the fact DLC items don't xfer to awakenings is absolutely asinine. a nice thank-you from bioware for ****ing supporting them and purchasing it.

I don't care how fast you find replacements for it...it's ****ing unacceptable.

I wouldn't waste my money on a bugged DLC, despite the fact it's cheap. Not when there's so much free modded game content out there.

I already posted this elsewhere but I need an answer fast.  I also have the PC version of DA:O and want to know whether it's worth it to get Awakenings or go for Red Dead Redemption.  Thanks!  I LOVE this game and I'm sure I'll like Awakenings, but don't know if its worth the price.  I've had all the requisite technical issues with DAO that I've had a Dickens of a time trying to iron out, but that's the way with almost all PC games.  I really like Dragonage and don't want the adventure to end anytime soon.  But I've only heard negative things so far about Awakenings and I want to know if its just overall technical problems here and there or if the game just flat out sucks.  THanks!

Yeah, they should have stuck to PC only.  But the $$$ from consoles was too much temptation.

I'm playing Origins and Awakening fine on my PC.  Through mods, I've added 5 additional maps to the Origins game and now each play-through is over 100+ hours for each character.  I've successfully played 10 characters.  It's a hoot!!!  Posted Image

Feel so sad for the consolers (sp?) . . . well, not really.  Posted Image

I am a console player and I have to admit as much as I love the convenience of playing this game on a lesser system (I have a classic HP Pavillion POS-74-2D) I must say that if console systems were ceased, I am sure all the numerous bugs on PC would not exist. Pity.

BTW YES you SHOULD feel bad for console players, especially those who don't have a working PC.

Okay, I feel a twinge of guilt . . .

I mod games as well as playing them so my view is a little skewed. I cannot buy into a closed gaming system such as a console. I like being in control, on top as it were.

I am actually glad now that DA:A was not released for Mac, considering the utter lack of storyline continuation, lack of romance options, etc.  - I have no desire to play the game, what-so-ever. Considering that Awakening seems to be such a huge disappointment, I expect a DA2 title to be even worse. I do not expect Bioware to continue/expand upon the sheer excellence that is DA:O. No, I'm certain they will just put out some self-gratifying rubbish. <_<

I don't blame you because I stopped when I noticed that the sound drops and frame rate issues weren't getting any better. I think the new patch, though will help us out because it will adress some memory leak issues, but they are way too late in adressing these issues. I bet they had the patch all along, but were waiting for the stupid Leliana DLC to drop the patch...

Roleplayers are on top of the story, you should join the club :)

About consoles though guys. Would be cool if one day consoles were treated like computer units. That's pretty much what they are, in many senses. Might as well make custom modding programs for consoles as well, right?

Modding for consoles?? Get real - Micro$oft and $ony won't allow it. Or else, they might allow it but they'll charge you a fee to "register" the mod on their platforms. Money has to change hands somewhere in there.

well I first owned DAO and DAA on my xbox but yes when I started awakening I walked up to the keep in my undies while it was cold and rainy out made for a good laugh with the terrorize victim running up to you and your strolling down the driveway like no big deal ;-)

but a simple fix for this for the consoles is to just load your post coronation game in DAO and then go back to the camp equip all the gear you want to bring with you minus the DLC that doesnt transfer and if you want to get really clever then take the arms and armor off your party mates that you want to bring as well and place it in your bags then save the game and import again to Awakenings

basically the import just takes the last save so you should now start the game with full arms and armor unless ofcourse you tried putting on dlc gear that does not transfer (ie shale/wardens keep dlc)

however still after seeing the numerous bugs in the console version and seeing all the amazing mods being released for the PC version I went to my local gamestop and traded my 360 versions in for the PC versions (best move ive made) I enjoy the game so much more on my pc ;-)

but yes I can understand the frustrations of the numerous stupid little bugs hendering the game

hope this helps ;-)

if not my best suggestion would be to bite the bullet and go get the pc versions
