Modding for consoles?? Get real - Micro$oft and $ony won't allow it. Or else, they might allow it but they'll charge you a fee to "register" the mod on their platforms. Money has to change hands somewhere in there.
Did it really? For computers? What about Quinn's programs? Never saw them myself.
And yea, it isn't a completely terrible idea for modding on consoles. What makes PCs so special that the people are to be given special privileges that those on consoles cannot?

Umm, how about you need a computer to run the toolset?
Why not just use the same computer you play the game to run the toolset?

consoles would need entirely different toolsets. i don't think bioware is going to build three unique toolsets just to be fair. the toolset is a pc perk.Bahlgan wrote...

Yeah, they should have stuck to PC only. But the $$$ from consoles was too much temptation.
I'm playing Origins and Awakening fine on my PC. Through mods, I've added 5 additional maps to the Origins game and now each play-through is over 100+ hours for each character. I've successfully played 10 characters. It's a hoot!!!
Feel so sad for the consolers (sp?) . . . well, not really.
I am a console player and I have to admit as much as I love the convenience of playing this game on a lesser system (I have a classic HP Pavillion POS-74-2D) I must say that if console systems were ceased, I am sure all the numerous bugs on PC would not exist. Pity.
BTW YES you SHOULD feel bad for console players, especially those who don't have a working PC.
This entire statement makes no sense. And it's purely idiotic.
A: Consoles (until this recent generation) haven't had the ability to "patch" and therefore have generally contained many, MANY less bugs per game than PC games at release.
B: The PC version of DA:O has already received more bug support than the consoles.
Explain to me exactly how you justify your statement...

Life with a PC is always filled with bugs.
I've just started playing DA:A after completing DAO, my character transferred complete, though something happened to the Warden's Keep DLC so I wasn't able to play that part.
You complain about the price of this game. I played COD4 and completed it in 2 days it was the same price as DAO (I waited for the price to drop on Awakenings) - THAT is robbery. Not this game which you can play for months without getting all the achievements.

I downloaded the patch(Xbox360) and it does move a little smoother than it did but It doesn't help that I might have to go back and restart my game from the beginning to get the whole story.
They should have waited and tested it more maybe they needed the money to finish the Star Wars MMO .

Here is the current thread. New one will likely be added tonight or tomorrow evening. (Canadian holiday)
If you can wait for that one, it may change your opinion on the matter. Me, I'm in the same boat right now. Haven't touched the game in over 3 months. I miss it, but playing it in its current state is pathetic.

A perfect PC game, with no issues on everyone's computer, bearing in mind all the different variations making up those systems compared to a console - Yeah right!!!

Really? Troll much? Simple: Players don't get to fix their own problems on the consoles. Preventing console systems would give Bioware more time to focus on their supposedly now only PC system. Bugs wouldn't all be fixed and more would arise, but certainly if DA:O were only for the PC then Bioware would have less to juggle.

Don't overlook the fact that cross-platform development means hugely increased number of potential buyers and thus hugely increased budget for development. PC-only Dragon Age could not have become that epic in respect to the amount of gameplay hours, music, voice acting etc. etc.
A PC exclusive Dragon Age would have been much smaller in scale - and not necessarily better in quality.

...This might make a nice after dark adult television program. Watching nude ladies taking down darkspawn with magic or arrows is quite fine indeed. Ever saw Triple X, starring Vin Diesel, where he was staring down the woman shooting targets with those fancy glasses. With those he could pick off every inch of her

Having the DLC armor or weapons not transferable made me not buy Awakening. I did borrow it from a friend though, but quit playing a few hour into it because it felt like everything that was cool in DA:O was gone from Awakening. I am glad that I did not buy it.
*DLC items don't transfer*
*everything cool was gone man, it was all gone*
Awakening was awesome, some of the bugs were annoying though. (the only one that stopped me from playing was the Sigrun companion quest not working proper, I also had to use the console to go to Velenna's)
Ending was perhaps a bit abrupt, but I didn't mind.

I would also recomend that you start Awakening with a new character. You get the same good weapons and armor early the only real difference is that you are not the hero of Feralden so the people treat you different.

I would say the best idea would be to skip Awakening completly and go staight to the DLCs. Awakening has almost nothing to do with Origins except a few camios but nobody that could have been a love intrest except Alister.

I guess you haven't read about the newest DLC - Golems of Amgarrak - coming out next. It will upload your Warden from Origins or Awakening which means that decisions you've made will carry forward. A lot of players assumed that since Awakening did not have an endgame save file that it would not be uploadable - they were mistaken obviously.
I'm looking forward to this DLC - it's more like an expansion which continues the Warden's story. Who knows? It may even provide clues to some of your companions.
