Unfortunately less action.  Apparently Mass Effect 1 brought in the crazies and Mass Effect 2 brought in the angries and that made the crazies angry and now this place is a sexy warzone

FPS types would stick with FPS games.  You probably saw more Japanese-centric gameplayers get into ME. 

Granted Gears of War did quite a bit to further the cause of the third person mechanic but htat is still foreign to Western developers (quality wise)
