The XBox 360 was released on November 22, 2005, and plays this and EVERY other 360 game just fine.
How many of your PC's bought on that date are capable of running this game? I'm guessing zero.
XBox 360 wins just for this reason alone.
Not even close what you have with a console is a toy and that is all it is. Now i will agree if cost was the only factor then the consoles would be superior. I have a PC i just put together last month and yes i spent a considerable amount of money to put together the best PC i could afford, the total was around 2500 dollars. These are the specs;
Intel I7 930
Asus p6x58d mainboard
12 gb kingston hyper X ddr3 1333 mhz ram
Kingston 64gb SSD (where windows 7 is installed)
Western Digital 1TB 7200 sata 6.0 hard drive
Coolermaster atcs 840 full tower aluminum case
Corsair 1200 watt single rail power supply
Asus 23 inch LCD led backlit monitor
Asus gtx 480 (fermi) video card
This machine crushes DAO at 1920 x 1080, AA 8x, AS 16x, every detail turned on or on high it will according to fraps give me 100 to 160 FPS, no lag at anytime. I am actually considering another gtx 480 in SLI configuration just so that at my next lan party i can claim the biggest penis in the room.
Now i spent considerably more money than any console would cost even with the extra controlers, hard drives, etc, but can your console show me the game as good as i am seeing it? That is not only a no but a hell no, and when you consider that DAO for the console gamers is what is is as opposed to DAO for the PC which is what ever i want it to be by the mods that are avaliable and i down load. Plus if i had the skill i could make my own mods, hell i can even use my machine to access the web so that i could find the information to teach myself how to mod the game. I can even use the machine to check on the real world occasionally by going to CNN or FOX. You have a toy limited in function, limited in the ability to upgrade, and no matter what you want your games will always pale in comparison to what i see, what i can do, and what i can play. On top of the fact that your games cost 20 to 30 dollars more per title than mine do in the short term consoles may be the way to go but in the long term a tool is better than a toy.
