I almost wonder if that first ten minutes should have been the last ten minutes of ME1; how huge of a cliffhanger would THAT have been?

From the moment the Reaper IFF was installed to credits was the single best part of the series. I enjoyed that so so so much. I couldn't believe how intense that was the first few times through. The suicide mission is still my favorite single level of this console generation.

* The reveal that Archangel = Garrus
(the launch trailer kinda spoiled it but I still liked those moments).
* The bridge section on Thane's recruitment (it's always fun to do non-standar kills by throwing people off).
* "Zombie" levels (End of Horizon, Legion recruitment).
* Meeting Wrex, best cameo by far.
* Tali's romance.
* The whole Suicide Mission sequence.
* The soundtrack, all of it.

* Legions loyalty mission
* Captain Wasea
* Collector base/suicide mission, the fast paced music + the cutscenes made it feel oh so epic, and then the final cutscene where the normandy flies away is just the cherry on top. still not quite as great as the battle for the citadel from Mass Effect 1
* The batarian bartender in lower afterlife
* The asari bartender in the eternity club
* Hell yea put more of the stuff in the thing more stuff goes in
* redesigned adrenaline rush (by far my favorite class specific power)
* Basically anything on Illium
* shooting Conrad in the foot
* punching the reporter...again
* blasto the jellyfish

The Normandy reveal still gives me goosebumps even after 400+hrs of playing.
The cinematic towards the end where the Normandy is destroying the collector ship does as well.
Not sure what it is about the Normandy, I love her, when shes kicking ass, its a narcotic feeling of bliss.
Snapping the eclipse merc's neck.
Setting that loudmouth krogan on fire.
Pushing the eclipse merc out the window.
Slapping Kelham around.
Taking Grunt to garrus' recruit mission, and watching Garm pop that vorcha's head off was classic.
Stacking weapon damage gear/Miranda, and cloak headshotting Harbinger with the widow.
Legion. I love this robot.
Joker/EDI. Both great.
Sound effects, and music is great.
I'm sure there is others, but these come to mind first.

Just glorious; one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had in a video game, if not the most rewarding.. How many people in the entire galaxy does Wrex call "friend"?
All the rest pale in comparison to that greeting, but they exist:
Everything from the Shuttle Ride To Nowhere onward. Ducking Collectors through the Normandy, Miranda needing someone to blame, and the whole ride from hitting the Relay forward. It's just awesome - and no elevators! ;p Sooner or later I'll even get more than one or two of them killed out of novelty.
"No, Prazza, you're working for me. If you can't handle that, you can wait on the ship."Well damn, girl, you grew up right, didn't you?
The look Shepard gives the Saren statue in Kasumi's loyalty mission, like she's waiting for it to twitch so she can drill him between the eyes.
Discovering one of the team was Garrus, which I had somehow managed to miss spoiling for myself (fortunately).
Basically everything Grunt says.
Getting back my Spectre status with the conditions I go away and keep a low profile, then beating a man in C-Sec custody, helping a dear friend assassinate a man, and otherwise making an above-the-law nuisance of myself in their house.

The way it flows and how it is structured is just perfect for some reason. Plenty of other moments that are great in the game but I always look forward to recruiting Archangel.

The one thing I don't like about the discussions with the Illusive Man is the inability to cut him off. "Are you calling in a report just so you can cut us off again?" "You know it."
*snif* I would give my finger for that option. (Not really of course but, you know...)

While not my favorites, I'm one of those sick people who enjoyed both of those parts. Scanning for enough minerals to last you the whole game - with retraining powers before any important mission - takes about as much time as the recruitment and loyalty missions for squadmates I don't care about, and it's not that hard by ear.Mesina2 wrote...

People who have problems with the Hammerhead think it's a tank. It's not. It's what we in the sci-fi nerd biz call a "speeder". You don't suck up gunfire in a speeder.

1) The trial at the Migrant Fleet
2) Meeting up with Wrex in Tuchanka
3) Grunt's quote, if you have him with you on Haestrom, when you dodge the colossus' shot ... "THIS is why I follow you Shepard .... big things!"
4) Legion referring to me as 'Shepard Commander' ... always makes me giggle on the inside.
5) The various Baldur's Gate references.
5 a) The space hamster ... Minsk from BG2 had a 'miniature giant space hamster' that he carried around and spoke to, it even took an inventory slot, when you tried to click to move it, it would squeak. It's the EXACT same sound file 'squeak' that plays when you examine the hamster in Shepard's Cabin.
5
6) Any and all things Tali ... or Garrus, but if i had to choose, Tali wins out hands down.
7) If you were nice to Conrad verner in his side quest in ME1, he appears in Illium, causing a ruckus in the Eternity lounge. If you go the renegade route in your first choice, it's quite hilarious. "Let me be clear conrad .... *Shoots verner in the foot* ... this is not acceptable!" .... priceless.

My favorite part is in the beginning when you go through the door at the top of the stairs on the Normandy, running through all the explosions with alarms going off, then you go through that door into the command deck to find yourself exposed to space and there is no sound but Shepard breathing. Amazing!
I almost wonder if that first ten minutes should have been the last ten minutes of ME1; how huge of a cliffhanger would THAT have been?
My god your so right. everyone would have freaked out for 2 years, and half the threads in this forum would have been speculation over Dead/alive shepard

-Finally seeing the migrant fleet and where Tali came from after all of ME1 and a good part of ME2
-Tali vas normandy line as they leave
-TIM Scenes just flow right that I love em for some reason.
-First seeing Garrus, after TIM leads you to believe he wont be found
-Legion
-The constant cliffhangers the first time through the last level expecting someone to die from every shot with out warning.
-Buying and then clicking on my space hamster
Although I think they could have done better when you first fly into the migrant fleet, as well as flying the to Alurei.It felt rather bland, and not very much like flying amongst the largest fleet in the galaxy.

-fighting through merc on Garrus's recruitment mission as a vanguard *Charges everyhting that moves*
-"How about goodbye?"
-"you talk too much" "see the human can't hit a simple target!" *bursts into flames*
-"Hunt Well Shepard, Tuchanka isn't nice and homey like Feros and Ilos"
and of course
-"Sneaking into the commanders quarters...a heavy risk...but the priiiiiiize"

The entire game was awe enspiring. All my favorites were already mentioned. The most heart warming parts was were defenatley reuniting with wrex. Wrex looked like he hadnt had any good news in a very long time, and when saw shep he instantly just stopped what he was doing and embrace shepard as his friend, just great.

Interesting question. This is what I can remember at the moment -- in no particular order:
* The whole opening sequence.
* Reuniting with Ashley with my male Shepard, who romanced her.
* The suicide mission opening, right after passing through Omega-4.
* Thane's first appearance scene.
* Pretty much any conversation with Thane, especially as a female Shepard.
* His romance scene.
* Certain interrupts, like the one with Cathka, and at the beginning of Miranda's loyalty mission.
* Dealing with Sidonis at the end of Garrus' loyalty mission.
* The hearing in the Migrant Fleet and hugging Tali.
