Overall, I thought the battle was fun, but it was fairly frustrating that the knights defending the upper pass weren't smart enough to stay out of the fire trap from the oil found in the city. I can set my own party members to stay out of dangerous AoE, but it sure seems it would have made sense for the NPC's to do the same...especially considering it's a trap they set! It was so bad I tried to put the fire out with a blizzard spell, but that didn't work. Here's hoping a future patch will adjust NPC AI for that fight...

You can lure all undead into / through the pit. Just use bows / crossbows to provoke them and have them approach one by one or 4 by 4. But you are right: AI (not only in mass battles) could be way better and should serverly be improved with an upcomming patch. All kind of traps are a serious danger if you don't manage your party one by one.
