Fex, have you gotten the patches since then? After the last update patch, when I did a new run through, I had no issues, went straight from Origins to Awakenings with all present patches in.

Ok, I can confirm that issues are gone for me, game is back to normal. I had same issues as NightmarezAbound and ChaosRaident, but after I reconnected to Dragon Age servers they're gone. Checking save data takes 2 seconds, loading times and performance are back to normal and no freezes in about 6 hours.

So, game is alright after 3.40 update for me now. Let's see if everybody will have the same result.

Well, it appears it's not that bad. What about NightmarezAbound? If his game is back to normal as well, we may consider that issue resolved somehow.

Yes mine is all back to normal, no glitches and actually no framerate issues for me at all during the Final Battle, including the Battle with the AD and using the circle of Magi with 2 spellcasters in group. no freeze. all seems good.

so it happened the one time,

I've been reading about problems with this firmware on other forums and thought I'd better check in here before I tried it myself. I think I'll give it a few more days to be on the safe side. Let a few more of you test it out for me first...

My dwarf gained 5 levels since update. Those who wait can wait more, of course)))

I updated via PC method this morning...no problems so far...

Don't update via wifi and take out your disk!  These simple rules will make a huge difference....they really should just say this as part of the guidance for the update...but they don't:P

Lol I was gonna start playing DAO again for the Leliana DLC. If the game is crashing again then it should be easy to fix for Bioware as they dealt with the same problem like what 3 months ago. Hope they do something about it

okay seriously, I nearly cried. Two days no issue. Then WHAM a freeze, last time I saved was 5 hours ago and I didn't have auto saves on. -sigh- Looks like i'll have to turn them back on.

You have firmware 3.40? Hm, strange... Still no consistency it seems.

The game will occassionally freeze on its own you know. If it were freezing due to 3.40 it would be freezing consistently.

No... I've played 300+ hours without freezes, so if it freeze something is broken.

No, no it's not. Before the whole mess with 3.30 I played hundreds of hours and had 3 separate freezes. A freeze does not automatically mean that 3.40 (or 3.30 or 3.50 or 3.xx) "broke" something.

If, however, the game freezes consistently (like say, every minute or hour like with 3.30) then yes, you could say something was "broken". One occassional freeze however... is probably not due to 3.40 or 3.30 or whatever.

have had no freezes since the one I had right after the latest update. Awakenings even running just fine.

and considering he was 5 hours into the game since his last save, I am thinking he had been playing for many hours at the time the freeze happened. which could have been a hardware issue, not knowing how well he maintains his system or how much circulation it is getting.

I had the occasional freeze before the dreaded update last time, those were easy to fix, and DA isnt the only game that has freezes.

I updated via WiFi and accidentally kept the disc in, no probalems yet, but I kept thinking to myself "Damn, should've taken the disc out" so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
