Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q701 Laptop

This is fresh install. I did full format of my hard drive before installing Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.

System Details:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7350 (2.0ghz Dual Core)

4GB RAM

Nvidia Geforce 9700M GTS 512MB VRAM (Driver version 8.17.12.5721)

Realtek Sound Adapter (Driver Version 6.0.1.6132)

Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium (6.1, Build 7600)

Direct X11

Problem Details:

The game funs absolutely fine initially. No graphical glitches or sound problems. I got through the entire SR-1 destruction sequence, the Lazarus reconstruction sequence, and all the way to just past giving Wilson the medigel and the screen goes completely black. It happens every time I try to play the game. I get a loud looping sound, and I'm forced to do a hard reset. CTRL+ALT+DEL does not work. The only games that have shown this problem are Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2, and The Last Remnant. They are all Unreal Engine 3 games so I'm assuming there is some sort of conflict with UE3 since all three games have the same symptons. I playing ME2 via Steam.

I deleted and reinstalled all of the games, not just the ones in question, and ME1 runs now albeit with the occasional minor graphical glitch. It's most readily apparent on Vigil. All the areas that should glow white are black. ME2 still has the same issue though, I still can't get through Lazarus Station without a major Black Screen of Death Crash. Only my UE3 engined games show this behavior. I've tried my other Steam titles and they play perfectly fine.
