Even if I set everything to max, the graphics look pixellated. And no, I didn't grow accustomed to Mass Effect 2 graphics (to whoever said that some months ago).

If you want to know what I mean, check this post from someone experiencing the same problem (he couldn't solve it):
http://meforums.biow...&forum=127&sp=0

He also included a screenshot.

In my case, however, this issue affects not only planet textures, but EVERYTHING in the game, even the faces look pixellated.

I tried the fix someone provided in that post, and while the setting did show an incorrect level of detail, changing that did not solve the problem.

Reinstalling and wiping the game cache didn't work either. Same goes for the NVidia graphics drivers, I've tried many choices from 80.something to 257.21. Such a wide range of driver versions clearly demonstrates the problem is not related to this, don't you think?  And, before you ask, yes, I did uninstall and install the drivers properly.

Reinstalling the game didn't work, either. And I haven't changed any hardware element ever since I played the game for the first time (when I didn't experience this problem).

The only thing I know for certain, is that this problem happened at some point after installing Pinnacle Station. I don't know if it's just a coincidence or a possible issue.

System information:

-OS: Vista Home Premium 32 bit
-Graphics: NVidia 8700m GT 512 GB SLI
-Processor: Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2.5 Ghz
-RAM: 4 GB physically installed, 2 available + 1 GB turbo memory
-Hard drive: 500 GB Seagate @ 7,200 RPM

Someone please help me with this, the game looks so awful it breaks the immersion. I cant' stand watching pixellated character eyes during chat sequences.

You don't have enough performance for "Max" settings. That's only a mainline graphics card, not a high end part. To run maxed image settings requires dialing down the screen resolution to low settings. Your card is a medium card, for medium settings at medium resolutions.

Have you tried running the game with the correct settings?

I normally run the game at 1600x1024, even though my screen can support 1920x1200. I have also tried running it at this resolution. The fact is, the game didn't look awful at first. It got messed up somehow and now it still looks awful even after I set everything to max at the expense of lag. Every possible setting there's in the game, set to max.

However, and I must apologize for being so blunt, but I don't think you're paying close attention to the actual problem. Regardless of the setup (which has been the only constant) the game used to run fine before, and now it does not.

The game used to look the way it should during my first 4 playthroughs. Afterwards, I got that crappy pixellation I couldn't solve. Check the screenshots from the link I posted, the first one from the guy with the problem, and the one from the last reply.

In my case, the game used to look like the one from the last reply. Now, it doesn't look like that anymore, it looks like the first screenshot and I can't fix it.

I have also tried medium settings, lowest settings, and the problem remains.

I don't know how I couldn't  have noticed after such a long time, but I managed to fix the problem.

It turned out to be a texture filtering setting malfunction. I had set my filter to Anisotropic directly within the game. I checked it out in the Configuration Utility (something I had never done before), and even though the option in the game said Anisotropic, the option in the config utility was set to Point filtering. Needless to say, changing this within the utility fixed the issue.

I was thinking that maybe, when I installed Pinnacle Station (which, as I said, was about the time when the issue started happening) the texture filtering setting was reset after the installation. Also, it is possible Pinnacle Station introduced the filtering setting malfunction.

If anyone else has this problem, I hope they see this thread. Confirmed: ISSUE FIXED

Thank you for providing assistance, Gorath
