I am just in the first village (Lothgoren?) - I can't rememember the name. Either way, as I tilt the camera and see the windmill in the distance, it looks GREAT but could look AMAZING with some sun rays or some sort of enhanced lighting a la the tower in Ostagar.
Any possibilities?
Mod request: Sun rays or enhanced lighting?

Not likely, probably not possible within the limitations of the engine. At the moment the Toolset isn't rendering lightmaps correctly so I think most of us will settle for a world that isn't completely black

The glittery crepuscular rays you see streaming through windows in some of the levels are actually faked, as far as I know, by models in the level editor with that glittery glowing ray texture on them. It would be tricky rigging that up with something that moves like a windmill blade, you might need to make a new model for something like that.
Afraid I don't know the name of the sun ray models offhand.

It would be really nice to get some kind of comment from Bioware regarding the lightmaps and non-existant water. We know you're reading this

The engine doesn't use dynamic lighting (atleast not a lot of it) and thus doing this would probably be very difficult: and it still wouldn't be as good as the real effect you see in other engines.

Holy... it's almost 2010 and we can't get dynamic lighting or any sort of sun ray effects outside? The game looks good but it could look AMAZING. Hopefully someone can come up with something.
The fight inside the tower at Ostagar, fake or not, look amazing with those "fake" light rays...

Xbox + 5 year dev cycle. Call of Juarez does it but the environments are simple.Holy... it's almost 2010 and we can't get dynamic lighting or any sort of sun ray effects outside?
