I don't know what the world record for shoe size is, but I'm sure an American extra wide 23 is big enough for one of my Dwarves to use in the Proving.

Anyone know how that converts to the rest of the world?

Seven.

I rarely wear shoes even though I own a lot of them. I buy them because they are pretty, but in general my feet would rather be naked.

Uhm, I already knew I've quite small feet, but some numbers in this thread are just... wow :P

Euro size would be 39 1/2 (sometimes 39, sometimes 40, depending on the brand and model), that is... 7? in us size? As such I happen to mostly wear shoes that are made for both genders (like, Adidas Samba or Chucks), and just pick a "female" one.

Since it's summer atm, I prefer Flip Flops anyway. No idea how those are called in english though. ;)

It would be more accurate to say I used to buy them. I haven't bought a new pair since I moved to Canada.  But yes, shoes can be a luxury. They are like little symetrical art installations and I enjoy looking at them.

@Merci - Flip flops are flip flops all over! Just don't call them thongs... :)

Wasn't sure because we use lots of "english" words in german, that have a very different meaning (or none at all) in english, like "handy" (=mobile), "beamer" (=projector)

Okay, learned something today, thanks Lilith & November :)

45/11 (Euro/American size) for boots. Luckily, combat boots (what I use on a regular basis) tend to be wider than normal shoes and that´s not generaly an issue. For shoes, well, I have a couple very nice Italian ones since those were the only ones my feet fit into.

For sneakers it´s a bit easier and pretty much any 46/11.5 will work.

Size 7 1/2, or 8 for uncomfortable feet-threatening shoes (heels, sandal heel things)
