I am seeing people constantly flame ME2 for plot holes but is it really that bad? Most plot holes are hard to notice anyway and many are there to benefit gameplay (ex. Intact Dog Tags in crates on Normandy crash site mission). In my opinion, Mass Effect 2 has one of the best stories of any game ever, a few plot holes don't bother me, yet for some reason so many people are bothered by them to a ridiculous extent. Things as insignificant as "The SR2 was allowed to dock at the Citadel despite being Cerberus" or "The Human Reaper doesn't make any sense" are blown out of proportion and used as reasons to not like the game.

Just sayin', don't let a few plot holes ruin a game for you.

It is really that bad.

This isn't about the game.  It's about the plot.  No plot, and the game = pew pew pew.

So a fantastic game needs a good plot? Well then I guess Super Mario Brother is a crappy game then!

It always bugged me, ever since my first ME2 run: Why didn't they call it "Mario Effect"? I mean it's 90% arcade anyway.

Funny that you say that since ME2 had more dialog then ME. So no, it's not 90% arcade.

I personally never noticed the myriad plot-holes that seem to cover half of these forums, or at least I never let them bother me. Most stories I read have plot-holes and unless they're so jarring that my experience is ruined, I tend to just brush them aside and enjoy the story for what it is.

I care not that a Cerberus ship can somehow dock at the Citadel, nor do I care about the illogical aspects of the human Reaper, nor am I yelling at Bioware for the Council's dismissal of Sovereign. I simply enjoy the game for what it is.

Not to say I don't critique the game where it's deserved (level design, argh), but I don't obsess over the minor stuff (such as the above).

Agreed. Freakin' agreed, good sir.:)

Personally, I really couldn't give a sh*t about how implausible a plot hole is, so long as it isn't so bad that it stops me from playing the game ever again. ME2 has failed to do this so much that not only did nothing at all in ME2 strike me as particularly odd the first time through, but I've accepted the reasons behind the changes, completed it 3 times, and I'm aiming to have another 7-9 more playthroughs completed by the time ME3 comes out. Yep, you read that right.

The way some of these people complain, you'd think that they played it through once, went 'WTF?', and immediately decided to break their game disc so that they'd keep their data in the hope of ME3 being good, but would never have to play ME2 again.<_<

EDIT: Wow, and Jean managed to ninja me in almost all of that...

My take on it. there is plotholes but there is only a few that are jarring, the minor ones don't bug me one bit and some of these "plotholes" are not even plotholes, it's things some people don't understand.

It also had more mineral mining and weapon upgrading. So the remaining 10% of ME2 were a crappy TBS.

It's a videogame forum. Pretty much 90% of the discussion on this thing is people ****ing about one thing or another.

How about this?

BTW, looks like a perfect box cover art for the "ME3: Stuart Little Edition"... Don't you think?

I'm not the biggest fan of Zulu, but even I find that unfair. He also comes out to defend TIM and Cerberus and to say that Zorya was Zaeed's misson, not Shep's. Also that ME1's Renegade is better than ME2's, and that Renegade is better than Paragon. Did I miss something, Zulu?

Some people do this.  It is unfortunate.

It is also unfortuate that you can see small and big holes in every main plot point, and then some on recruitment and loyalty missions.

Oh realy? Name me a few.

Miranda Miranda's father is established as controlling scum, like Miranda. But he never implants his girls with control chips like Miranda wanted to do to Shepard?

Thane Complains about how noisy you are when you first meet, then asks you to help stalk someone.

Jacob 1 No kids.
2 All those robots survive but not one shuttle on a ship that big?

Grunt/Mordin If the Krogan were evolving to cope with the Genophage then it isn't magic and there should be a way to take old bones from before the genophage to see what it's done and how to help get around it. Also how are they able to find all Krogan populations in the galaxy when it is pretty easy to get lost and generally stay out in space for long periods of time and given the Krogan lifespan there could be pockets of Krogan out there able to breed normally. Also if they did it once they will do it again unless the Salarians have found a way to turn off evolution.

Tali Wait why couldn't you guys have just colonized a dead planet or moon instead of staying on the ships? Wait, even if you're activating Geth why armed Geth? Why not just take out the "brains" and activate those?

Any Biotics user Waaaay more powerful in the introduction scene.

I've seen that too, and I agree with most of that, but it all somehow manages to come back to ME2's plot being "swiss cheese" while praising ME1. it's kind of annoying.

So what, I hate a great deal of what's discussed here but if that's what people want to talk about then fine. I'd rather have a forum full of Debbie Downers than one where you can't say one bad thing about bioware without being jumped on and or banned.

IIRC, my profile is open. You can always check out the "Forums" tab there to see what I'm interested in. Or links in my signature.

My favorite: Jack wasn't supposed to use biotics at all, since the Humans need BioAmps to do that, and Jack's should have been confiscated for the term of incarceration. Or was Kuril that huge a moron?

Oh, I like the proficiencies you listed. That's cute. And people accuse me of trying to audition for a BioWare job...

Here's a tip: If you're trying to prove that you're not the same whiner, don't post on the OTHER account immediately after being accused of it. That just makes it even more suspicious, especially when that account hasn't replied to anything in the last 8 hours.

Umm, that's suspicious at best Ecael, we need more. That is if you're serious about this of course.  Or are you just being provocative and a little facetious because of the topic at hand?
