I'm confused why the Codex image for Protheans is a husk thing

Well, the statues on Illos look like the husk things, but in the Joab vision, we see the Protheans in Collector form,

But, the Codex image is so humanoid... Does this mean Protheans are related to humans somehow?

Satire? You decide...

Protheans look like Husks because the Dragon's Teeth technology was originally developed by the PROTHEANS and used by the Reapers. The reason why almost no other races existed during their time was because they turned most of them into their own race (or could take corpses and do the same thing). The Reapers re-used them and redesigned them to turn people into mindless husks, but without losing much of the Prothean look.

When the Illusive Man used Reaper technology for the Lazarus Project, it could have included the Dragon's Teeth. Therefore, Shepard is, in fact, Prothean!

Also, the reason the Reapers couldn't use the Protheans for making one of their own could be because the Protheans used these devices on themselves (and everyone else) to ensure they don't get harvested. They did, however, get eliminated - but not before leaving technology around the galaxy for others to use.

No this doesn't mean Protheans and Collectors had similar physical appearance. Don't you remember what Mordin said about Protheans' transformation into Collectors?

Does that mean Asari, Turians, Quarians, Volus, Drell, and Batarians are too?  Are Elcor more closely related to Gorilla gorilla because they are knuckle-walkers?  Are Hanar truly big stupid jellyfish? Well, smart jellyfish, really, but whatever. Are Reapers just really large, really mean and spaceworthy brine shrimp?

Deep-fried Reaper sounds nice.

I have to say, though, that that Codex image for the Protheans bugs me.

Of course they are. That much ice to form a moon around that mass relay indicates that the Sol system was supposed to be cut of from the Reapers. It doesn't form naturally, which tells me that the Protheans didn't want the Human race found.

What does that have to do with being biologically related to humans? Yes, they were in the solar system 50,000 years ago.  We already knew this.  We also already know that anatomically modern humans had been around since about 150,000 years before that.  We also also already know the Reapers would have wiped the Protheans out if they'd been using mass relays way back then.

My theory is that the statues on Ilos are in reality the reapers "true form"
(can be only a design change)
on the codex image of the protheans in mass effect 2 the statues look like husks that are based on reaper technology...
Maybe the protheans built the statues for the reapers after enslavement...

(O__O)

(sorry for my bad english)

The general appearance of the Protheans bothers me, or rather, the lack of confirmed looks. Guess we will find out more in the From Ashes missions. Certainly hope so!
