So, Dragon Age's second story will not be in the dragon age? That sounds weird. Source?

I'm not saying it won't be, and to the best of my knowledge Bioware hasn't confirmed the setting one way or the other yet, or even if they are making a second game any time soon for that matter. I'm not going to dig through a years worth of Dev posts to find the one I referenced, you can take my word or not :P

If you refering to my post that is a joke. As for DA 2 it is likely to follow up on Awaking and Origins but how many years past is not known. It could even follow the path of the child (if dark ritual is the canon) . Wouldn't surprise me cause that was what BG was about a bastard god child.

Dragon Age: Origins takes place either 30 or 31 years into Dragon Age. Each Age is about a century.

I'm not sure how integrated Alistair will be in future DA games since there are pretty varied endings to Origins. He could be dead, a wandering drunk, married to your Warden, etc etc... I would assume if there is a DAO:2 in the same time frame as the first game, then you have the option to either import your game or start fresh. I'd be interested in seeing what the 'default' storyline would be if you start over. I assume Alistair would have slept with Morrigan, became King and ruled alone, but we'll see.

Oh no, sorry. I forgot to quote Relhart.

I better elaborate.
So Dragon Age>Ferelden>the King > his son The whole story thusfar. And we're about 30 years into the hundred year "Age" span. Add to that the blatant evidence of no visual death, no matter what you tell Anora to do, and there suddenly is a real good chance we'll see him again, right?

By blatant evidence I mean they totally could have used the visual bloody beheading they already made for Logain and used it for Alistair, but they mysteriously chose not to. Forshadowing?

Secretly, I'm firmly convinced Anders is Alistair's half brother and this makes his reappearance even more likely.

Yes I loved Alistair. I am an Alistair fangirl, but I wouldnt mind something different like the setting to be during the first Blight. That would be awesome in my opinion, but I guess thats not really a new storyline ur going to try to defeat the Blight and save the day again.BUT I think it would be very interesting to see how the GW formed and they figured out what to do. Who was the very first GW :V

I want to see how it all started. I want to see the devastating effect it had on everyone. Man that would be a great game >.< To see the dwarven civilization the way it was before. There were a lot more dragons too back then right? Where did the first Blight happen anyway? I need to read my codex more often >.> And what an accomplishment that would be to help save the world from the very first Blight. Its sad that this game will probably never happen ;~;

Oh and GRIFFINS!

First, let me say that I would definitely like to see Alistair back but probably more of a supporting role as king. I am coming from the perspective that the cannon ending has him and Morrigan in the Dark Ritual and surviving to become king of Fereldan. He is afterall, Meric's son, and the rightful heir.

Their god-child could certainly come into play as heir to the throne of Fereldan.

To the people who do not like Alistair, rejoice, he can only survive 28 or so DA years more, at best.

If there is another DA, I would love to see Alistair back. A lot of people mention Morrigan and the Dark Ritual. But if you want to follow up on the Dark Ritual, Alistair should be back, too. Personally, I would like to see more NPC's from Origins reappear in a DA sequel/expansion pack. I want the decisions I made in Origins to actually affect what happens in a sequel, and I was disappointed that Awakening didn't really seem to do this.

But, back to Alistair...he was one of my favorite NPC's in Origins and I was very disappointed not to see him in Awakening. Alistair was useful in combat, a source of humour, likeable, and a sort of moral judge. And what with the Landsmeet and all, he was an important part of the game even if you didn't usually keep him in your party. Plus, I went through all the trouble of building a romance with him and then he just disappeared in Awakening with no explanation whatsoever. A little frustrating since I was hoping the Origins storyline to carry over more.

So do other people want to see Alistair back, too?

Oh yes Alistair fangirl all the way here! (Zevran next) I want my husband/lover back at my side for fighting and other extra-curricular activities of course! Posted ImagePosted ImageBut seriously yes my charcter enjoys his company and humor. He is one of my favorite tank fighters and I almost always have him in my party.

My Cousland male considers Alistair his best bud and would love to see him back as a fighting partner. My boys will be boys!

It may sound unrealistic to want this, but:

I would like the next expansion, if there is one, to have all Origins characters return as playables, as well as whichever Awakening characters choose to stick with the Warden, and a few new characters specially for the next expansion. I know... Relatively impractical, whatever.

But yes I want Alistair and Morrigan especially to return in the next expansion, BOTH as playables :wizard:

@Bahlgan, to me not unrealistic in my world and i agree. To Bioware maybe. But I think it would fun to have a rather large choice my problem would is who to choose to go. I definately want Anders, he makes a badass mage in my opinion.Posted Image Just please please let the conversation be system like DAO.

Everything depends on what the sequel is like yes totally. I really do want an expansion pack, that you know expands.. With the same characters and companions we've come to love. Alistair is my favorite too I would love to see more of him.

I absolutely want Alistair back. He is he my favorite companion, my PCs are married to him and he is a huge part of my PC's story-line - I definitely want carry over from Origins. My PC's story has too many loose ends and her story is far from over.  I will not even consider purchasing a DA2 title if there is no proper storyline continuation from DA:O. Considering how Awakening turned out and the crap DLC they have been releasing, I am afraid a DA 2 title will be an enormous disappointment.

Der, she didn't ask who doesn't want him back... now scram.

Not using Alistair in the next game would be as stupid as if Luke Skywalker was only in the first Star Wars movie. Besides, we need to see him grow up and become like Luke "a jedi badass".

Why create such a decent, engaging character only to use it once and have instead more crap Velanna characters instead? I wanted to throw that freaking elf in a tree.

It's like "Hmm do I want vanilla flavour ice cream or barf flavor?"

Of course I'd like to see Alistair back, as a king of Ferelden - normal NPC to talk with. He could be little older, thus more mature or even an really old man, but the taint makes it a bit difficult, doesn't it? What's more, I'd like to be a Fereldan in DA2, somehow I'm really attached to this country. :)
