Yes, it was meant toward you. And I'm certain Alistair hates you too <_<

Indeed. Never ****** off or seek to ill will against those who are pure hearted. Those are the ones that will commit the most bloodshed if turned. Muahahahaha!!

Morrigan, Leliana and Alistair should make a comeback IMO.

Don't forget Zevran. All romance options from Origins should return as playables

Your prob not gonna ever see him agian in any role besides a cameo. A character like Alistair is a double edged sword. On one hand you can really mold him and his destiny. On the other hand, because he can go down so many possible roads, it is a very very VERY tricky task to incorporate him into a future title. You would have to account for every single one of his possible outcomes. With EA up their **** bioware has to decide what is and what isn't worth the trouble. Brining back Alistair would be a challenge and take up allot of time. Not impossible but prob not worth it.

Characters who can very easily die (Zevran, Leliana, ect) are even less likley to return as it's certainly not worth putting in the loads of effort towards making a companion if a considerable amount of people won't even HAVE the chance to use them.

If there is another DA, I would love to see Alistair back. A lot of people mention Morrigan and the Dark Ritual. But if you want to follow up on the Dark Ritual, Alistair should be back, too. Personally, I would like to see more NPC's from Origins reappear in a DA sequel/expansion pack. I want the decisions I made in Origins to actually affect what happens in a sequel, and I was disappointed that Awakening didn't really seem to do this.

But, back to Alistair...he was one of my favorite NPC's in Origins and I was very disappointed not to see him in Awakening. Alistair was useful in combat, a source of humour, likeable, and a sort of moral judge. And what with the Landsmeet and all, he was an important part of the game even if you didn't usually keep him in your party. Plus, I went through all the trouble of building a romance with him and then he just disappeared in Awakening with no explanation whatsoever. A little frustrating since I was hoping the Origins storyline to carry over more.

So do other people want to see Alistair back, too?

Look I love Alistair and everything but he is king. I doubt he will be returning to the party.... ever.

i'd love to see more of him in future installments, preferably more than just 30 second cameos too :)

regardless of however you slice it, alistair was/is an intergral part of fereldan's story in the DA:O universe. if there's going to be some kind of mentioning of fereldan, he should be mentioned as well.

edit: ugh....now that i think about this, isn't this the no spoilers forums? Posted Image

chances are, he'll be the king during the 10 year span of Dragon Age 2, although very likely end up dead because kings and queens in a dark fantasy story usually die at some point. *cough* Cailen *cough* i suggest all the alistair fans out there be prepared.

Seriously, at this point I could care less what happens in future games - I'm not going to waste my money on them. I am so disappointed in Bioware and its devs/representative's comments and feedback that I feel nauseated just thinking about a sequel to DA:O.

You're hoping that Zevran has persuaded him to "hop borders"?

I love Alistair...but he's the most awkward of all the companions (well other than the secret companion) to bring back because he's so hugely impacted by the players choices in the game...unless you bring him back in one canonical form (most probably King of Ferelden), there are too many possibilities...and it's so easy for him to be dead, in which case you have a plot hole that needs to be filled by someone else if his role in the game is significant.

Anyway, the game is taking place in the Free Marches, so probably any relevance to the game will have to be flashbacks to the past...unless you want to see the broken drunk Alistair...

I will give you that, I hated the fact that you could never please him. Think of this situation as his own personal beef with your leadership. Every companion always has a moment where he/she or IT (Shale) will completely hound on you for your decisions. Trust me, as a female Warden, it is a baaaaad idea to turn down Zev when he prepares the tent and all that. Friend of my room mate hated him because of that.

You do realize that at the time he says that, he doesn't know that there's any alternative?  It's only afterward that he learns that going to the Circle Tower for help is an option...the game designers might have made it easier to predict his reaction if they'd had him jump on that idea when it's offered, but it's not surprising that it's his preference.

So long as both are willing to share with my female Hawke, sure, why not?

DA 2 has a completely different protagonist, though it has been confirmed that data from DA:O will carry over since it is in the same time frame, during the blight.

The main character is Hawke, a survivor from Lothering. Your saves WILL be "imported" in the sense that the choices your character made in DA:O and DA:A will have an affect on the story of DA2. So it takes place during the time period just during the "blight, or just after the "blight" is quelled. I personally felt that the changes made to it are a step in the right direction. Dragon Age: Origins was set to establish the basis of the story for the entire world. It wasn't meant to be the ONLY story. Hence...Origins, now that a story is established there is no need for an Origins system.

And as far as the decision wheel, it's pretty the same as it was anyway, and I like that they are putting what type of comment it is with it. Cause honestly I felt some of the choices you had in DA:O were vague....they didn't have the result I would personally expect from the choice, because for some reason the comment was meant to be mean spirited, when that wasn't my intent at all. I lost lots approval points because of that. (not that it's hard to max, but still shouldn't have to happen).

Bioware games all have similarities regardless of the genre or style and the reason is cause it WORKS, so I say just enjoy the story and the gameplay will fall right into line.

What does Zev do?  All you really have to do is get his approval rating above neutral and he'll stick with you when you fight the Crows in Denerim.  One of my male Wardens turned down his sexual advances, and it didn't harm the relationship at all.  How many relationship points does a female Warden lose?

If you have a relationship with Alistair and become his "queen" in Origins he shows up at the beginning of Awakening saying that he has important business back home and he acknowledges you as his queen and even gives you a peck on the cheek.

I am grateful the focus is being shifted /away/ from the two Grey Wardens, in spite of my fondness for Alistair and all the hero Warden's companions. So, no, I don't want to see Alistair back again.  I made Anora queen for the most part, anyway.

Wow!  That sounds cool.  I'll have to try that.  Does she have to be a human noble?

My friend's Warden, who already entered his relationship with Leliana, got TWENTY SIX points of disapproval from Zevran for turning him down, and I dialogued his Warden to be KIND in turning him down.
