So I assigned kaidan to kirrahe, started the attack, destroyed the communications, satellite and fuel of the geth, deactivated the alarm and until the deactivation of the first AA turret all was well, then when I arrive to the bomb site and ashley starts to plant it, Kaidan calls saying thet kirrahe is dead! What went wrong? is there some kind of trick to keep him alive or what? I saved him in a previuos playthrough, but now he dies! I'd like to keep him alive, I really appreciate salarians!

By "deactivated the alarm", do you mean you left the guys inside for YOU to fight or made Kirrahe fight them? I've left the guys inside for me to fight every time, and doing everything else, he's lived every time.

I left the guys inside for me to fight! I also received confirmation from the team, and the journal tells me I've been good! I received paragon points! as for the other things, I did them... The entire mission is scripted, so if I waste time trying to find every crate it shouldnt matter...
Maybe when the bomb arrives the game makes a dice htrow...

Did you destroy the drones?

If you mean the refueling ones, yes, destroyed everything that moved!

Or perhaps the kirrahe is dead message is a default thing, and then it reappears?

No, it isn't. If you're told he's dead, then it literally means he's dead.
I'm guessing you should reload and do it all over again then, but be a little more careful and observant. Also try to be quick. I know it's not timed, but judging by my recent playthrough's, it kind of has to do with how quickly you are. But I'm not sure.
By the way, at the very first geth base you walk into after splitting up with Kirrahe, there is something you need to shut down. I don't really remember what it is exactly, but I know it's in the first base and is critical to helping Kirrahe. In addition, it's very easy to miss.

When you destroyed the fuel tanks, did you destroy all the drones that were around it?

I asked him that above. Apparently he did.Pacifien wrote...

I retried the missione, been more quick, done everything, he's dead...

Then I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're missing...

Man, I really just don't know. I might load up one of my games and find every little detail about the entire Virmire mission. Something that happened even before you got to the Salarian camp?

Mind you, Pacifien, saving Kirrahe can be a total pain in the butt. I remember it drove me bonkers at some point; I reloaded the mission at least 4 times before I finally got it right. At the same time, there are playthrough's where I saved him on the very first try, without reloading once.Pacifien wrote...

I can attest to the fact that even by doing EVERY task there is to help the captain, he can still die. Why, is the question, though.

I'd really like to know when is the death triggered! I've done everything! Ive done it super fast, doing nothing outside quest objectives, and he keeps dying! Seconds before the normandy arrives, i even get the comm in which he says he plants the bomb and tells everybody to get down... How is it calculated? Maybe it's something I should do before starting the mission...

There is nothing you can do to help him before splitting up. That I know for sure.

In case you come up with something I'm here!
EDIT: I was born in Italy 23 years ago, and I've always been proud of it! Now I'm proud no more! Kirrahe wasn't dead at all, it was the poorest translation I've seen in ages that tricked me! In the italian version, you hear your teammate say that the salarians are all dead (he mentions heavy losses and the captain's death), then when you go to the AA gun to save them and take off from virmire, everyone is safe and sound in the cargo hold! I remained silent as the Italian football team was swept away from the FIFA world cup, now I wont! I HATE MY COUNTRY! I WANT TO BE AMERICAN! OR CANADIAN! I WOULD EVEN BE ENGLISH!

I know some people didn't even know the salarians survived unless they visited the cargo hold. Especially those who went back to the bomb site, they just assumed the salarians must have died!
In any case, England? Didn't some Germans kick their butt hardcore last weekend?

Yep. It's what we do when building the english team - get a bunch of semi-literate retards, throw a load of money at them, and tell them to do their best.
I am wondering when we'll figure that such a strategy sucks...

Well, any English speaking country would do the trick! It was the Italian version that made me start this topic!
And yes Jaegerbane, here in Italy we choose football players the same way!
