After completing a number of playthroughs with no problems I now have the situation where even with the paragon bar at between 75 to 100% the blue paragon response is just greyed out in both the Samara/Morinth confrontation and the Miranda/Jack confrontation.  this seems to be since I downloaded the Overlord dlc and the latest ME2 patch.

I have un-installed and re-installed the game 3 times now, leaving the patch or the dlc out but the problem still exixts.  Its getting quite frustrating to get so far into the game and having loyalty only to lose it.

Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone have a solution?  thanks in advance

You might just wanna make sure you're paragon isn't between 75 and 100%, but 100% outright. Also, if you have to take a side, you can reconcile with the other person later.

Yeah I did that. Tried playing through 3 times with with varying amounts of paragon including 100% but still just get greyed out paragon responses. Didn't have this issue before the patch or Overlord so not sure why I have it now. Now I've started yet another new game without Overlord or the latest patch to see if that fixes the problem.



I guess I'm just obsessed with having all my squad loyal before I go through the Omega 4 relay and now I have to choose between Miranda and Jack, and I like both of them, lol.

The meter actually doesn't matter quite so much as how thoroughly you have stuck to picking Paragon options (and how thoroughly you have done side quests/conversations that can have them come up). See this thread, specifically the third section, if you want the specifics.



IIRC one of the devs said the Miranda/Jack fight is supposed to be one of the hardest situations in the game to use Paragon persuasion in. On the other side, Tali/Legion is supposed to be one of the hardest for Renegades.

thanks Kloreep I will check that thread out. I wasn't having the problem before I downloaded both the dlc and patch 1.0.2 so not sure why its happening now and just wondered whether anyone else had run into it. I've played the game more than 10 times and I pretty much stuck to paragon I usually do) in the playthroughs that are giving me problems.
