I haven't found such a thread, so here it goes- If given a choice in ME3, with whom would you cooperate? Why?

I'd rather work for Cerberus- black ops, no restrictions, unlimited budget- yeah they're racist but they aren't all bad- they let an old buddy fly, brought Shep back and... "leather seats!"

I gotta say- I'm surprised how many people (not in number- in percentage) want to go Spectre or... Geth?... So do you Spectre guys(and girls respectively) really want to fight directly FOR the council?
Regardless of whether the council is human or not or Anderson is on it- these people essentualy hung you out to dry, even the "reinstatement" which was just a "Get off our backs" b***hslap was NO help what so ever.

:ph34r:And was anyone irritated by the fact that you can't really side with TIM?
Even if it's a human council, even if you... made the last renegade choice in saving that particular piece of alien tech, even if you choose the renegade options to be relatively nice to him you still sound like you hate TIM and mistrust him greatly. What's up with that? I don't want to yell at him, in one of my playthroughs I imported a very, very racist Shep I had made just for fun and it was kinda ridiculus to see this Shep who voted for and defended TerraFirma and was just THE greates xenophobe EVER say: I'm gonna save the galaxy, sc**w Cerberus- u r just racist.
What the protheans is going on? I wanted to be a racist d**sh but in the end I was confined to just a bland heroic icon... that was kinda sad

In ME3 there should be a non-combatant Volus brought on board hired for the purpose of procuring funding through investments. That's how Saren got his funding...

And they're not the same.  The Alliance may be a bureaucratic mire, but they at least have some level of ethical caliber.  Cerberus may work outside the bounds, but their moral compass is so corrupt that I wouldn't use it to find my way out of a paper bag.

Are they?

ME1 spoiler

What did Kahoku say to Shepard?
"They're an Alliance black ops group called Cerberus, they dissapeared a couple of months ago (...) They're completely ROGUE."

I could also give an example from ME2 but it's hardly neceseary

none, both sucks

I'm joining Geth and Quarians

That would certainly be an interesting crew...
SomeQuarian: Who broke the coffee machine?
Geth: MURDER!!! Revenge!

I'm more 'on my own' but I prefer Alliance. Less racism and inhumane experiments (and they call themselves a pro-human group?)

I don't see how anyone who played ME1 wouldn't see Cerberus as the bad guys. They do anything to accomplish their goals. Sounds like Saren, huh? Replay it for confirmation, as there are many Cerberus-related assignments.

Cerberus is somewhat justified by the fact that those experiments were conducted by cells not under direct supervision. Ofcourse that begs the question- WHY isn't anyone keeping an eye on experiments with aliens and zombies but... Tim has glowing eyes! How can you say no to those baby blues?

Cerberus is evil terrorist organisation that does it's job, while Alliance is cliche.

I'm not saying they're not connected but they're hardly the same- maybe high ranking alliance brass is working with them on the down-low. Bottom line- Alliance may be working with Cerberus but in the end- Cerberus doesn't work FOR the alliance. That's a hell of a difference when it comes to sharing advanced alien tech (avoiding spoiler about ME2 ending)

Funny thing about that.  For at least twenty years before ME1, his willingness to do anything to accomplish his goals made Saren a hero and the council's right hand man.  Only by cooperating with the genocidal robots, which Cerberus hasn't done (that we know of) did he cross the line.

Exactly. For some reason many people here hold the council and alliance in high esteem while forgetting how often they work underhandedly.

Cerberus gets the job done. They're not afraid to get their hands dirty for the greater good.

The Systems Alliance hasn't even offered me my job back. All I got was that one lousy message from Hackett and a conversation with Anderson. What a bunch of jerks.

I don't remember paying for fuel or probes when I worked for the Alliance.

I was offered my job back from the Alliance when I visited the Citadel.

Has anyone ever noticed you never see any retired Cerebus agents? or even Old Cerebus agents? the answer is they don't live long enough to retire...TIM has some plan and then everyone either dies or gets Husked.

and the Alliance now has a dental plan

The problem with "getting your hands dirty for the greater good" is assuming that you know what the greater good is. In the case of novels and games, we frequently have more information and better perspective than most (if not all) of the characters do.

This is why I'd choose the Alliance over Cerberus. The Alliance may be tied down by red tape, but they're far less likely to cross as many ethical lines (or rather to leapfrog over ethical lines without a backwards glance as Cerberus tends to do).

I'd drop both of them- the Alliance for their mistrust and their lack of appreciation, and Cerberus for its opposed ideology. I'd try founding a multiracial organization with the purpose of preparing the galaxy for an eventual fight with the Reapers.

I highly doubt that will be a choice, though.

Cerberus get the job done and the Alliance always hold back. Cerberus are terrorists though and they did kill Admiral coco-pops. Shepard, Zaeed, Ashley, Tali, and the biotic god will kill all in their way.
