I just finished the crypt in Blackmarsh undying and cannot get past the gates (essence of willpower is behind the gates). There doesn't seem to be anywhere else to go in the fade.

If you go to the main gate of the castle you can join up with Justice to fight the Baroness

Am at the gates but nothing is happening. I can't open the doors.

You are at the gate where Justice is yelling at the castle? There'll be a crowd there. If so try talking to Justice

you need to talk to justice to open the gates and start the battle

There's no crowd. I think where I'm at is more of a village. There are docks in front of the village and a crypt where I killed the hunger demon on the north side of the city.

You can't open that on yet.

Where do I go from here then?

Pass the village watch and turn left down the path to an [ESSENCE OF STRENGTH]

and [BOOK] on [CODEX 166: THE BLACKMARSH]. Hug the western wall and run to the

[ESSENCE OF DEXTERITY], east from it is an [ESSENCE OF WILLPOWER]. Head to the

center of town and speak with Justice. You can side with him and charge the

gates to start a fight with The First or speak with the Baroness first and make

a deal with her. Either way a battle ensues, it ends when The First is defeated

so gang up on him and crowd control the remaining enemies by either freezing or

stunning them. If you sided with the Baroness temporarily then you get the

following options

I overlooked a doorway in the crypt. I had left the crypt using the entrance. Am now looking for the dragon skeleton so I can put the bones back.
