I want to give some creatures a PlayAnimation command, and it is absolutely crucial that it fires, regardless of where the player is. I thought adding it as a static command might work, but alas, no. I could use Ambient Animation and whatever override flag for that, but it would be very messy to add what I need to the 2DA, so I'd prefer just being able to use PlayAnimation.

Right now I'm just spawning them behind a wall near the player and teleporting them as soon as the animation begins, but I feel that this solution lacks elegance. :P

Hum, is the location of the player really important? I have a creature far from player's perception range and when he spawns I add a PlayAnimation command to his command queue. It is working fine.

Animations only play within 50m of the player by default, as far as I am aware. Right now, if I spawn them nearby they play the animation, if I spawn them far away they do not.

Is your creature playing the animation when you get close, or when he spawns? I need it to play when the creatures spawn, such that the player will never actually see it.
