No romance for Dwarves.

Why couldn't we have a Dwarf like Gorim in the party? They come up with that lame thing about him getting a gimped leg and wife in Denerim so you couldn't pursue anything further with him...bleh.

There's a new dwarven companion in the Leliana DLC called Tug by the way. He looks handsome, too...

so why should dwarves get a special romance option?
there's the same options for all...you're just not happy with them...but you're not the only one...I don't like that my human female can only romance whiny king-wannabe or a bisexual stererotypical loose-legged elf forcing her to go bisexual with an insane tart bard if she wants any kind of lovin.
So basically...QQ more..maybe others will care

No one's suggesting a dwarf-only romance, just a romance option that happened to be a dwarf.so why should dwarves get a special romance option?
Although if you were looking to romance a human you had two options for either gender but if you wanted to romance an elf than you were pretty much stuck with Zevran who wasn't everyone's first choice of a romantic partner (especially if you're RP a heterosexual male Warden) so just HAVING one dwarven LI wouldn't mean that they'd be universally appealing and I'm half-expecting that when the day finally does come and a dwarven LI arrives that I won't like them romantically or they'll be some other reason for me not to romance them.

I would be happy to see a dwarven LI, as long as it's done well. I think you could get a great story line out of a Legion of the Dead and a Grey Warden- both orders who are not supposed to think about a future- pondering a future together.

If you're a female/male dwarf and you romance Zevran, you reach the tip of his nose.
If you're a male dwarf and you romance Leli/Morri, you are the perfect height for a motorboat.
By heights alone, certain activities are very much, uh, doable. I have measured this for science, I'll have you know.

And I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about dwarf romances. If you're playing a dwarf and you think it's weird, then my suggestion would be not to romance anyone. One day, however, we WILL do a dwarf-specific romance. I swear it.

The height disparity is definitely more noticeable than elf + dwarf, but I think it's cute. One of the things we swoon over in the Alistair thread is how in an Alistair-elf kiss, he kind of scoops her up a little. And like I said, the kneeling is also awesome. It's the disparities that make a romance interesting, I think. Not just the physical of course, I mean the cultural ones too.DiablosShadows wrote...
the thing about dwarf + human romance is it just dont look right

Either way it's obvious that the game was not designed for human-dwarf relations. The first time Alistair asked me to his tent, the kiss or whatever just before the "love scene" montage was *very* awkward. I say "or whatever" because I couldn't even tell what they were doing, whether they were kissing or had thrown their arms around each others' necks or if Alistair was trying to give my Warden a noogie or what.

Yes, I'm referring to the new mod from tmp7704. Gilsa's got some videos up.Morwen Eledhwen wrote...
That's weird, my character is a dwarf in a relationship with Alistair and he doesn't kneel to kiss her. He bends down a little bit but most often the Warden suddenly looks a little bit taller for those scenes. Or maybe Alistair gets shorter. But their heads are definitely closer together than in non-romantic scenes and there's no kneeling. I wonder if this is a platform-related thing? I'm playing on the PS3. Maybe he kneels in the PC version?

This is true. . .or it seemed to be for the 10 seconds of video accompanying Alistair's first time. Silly, silly boy. . .

Zevran-dwarf is really cute, too. It's got the same proportions as Alistair-elf, like you could nicely tuck yourself under the guy's arm. I do wish they gave more race-specific romance lines. There are only a few places where your LI acknowledges your race and none are very... I guess "special" is the word I'm looking for. I suppose they wanted to leave RP room.
