I have seen your post, it is very nice and detailed :-)

I am, however, not going to argue about my emotional perception of the dialogue, you can't change that logically.

All depends on which character you've become attached to, I guess.

:P

Dragon Age and both Mass Effect 1 and 2 considered, there hasn't been one squadmate or companion that I didn't like.

...Except Morrigan. That sneaky... witch thief.

I actually liked her most as a character, she had the most personality, as in her own grand strategy (with the baby and all).

I was pleasantly suprised when I found out too :-)

EDIT: this is getting awfully off-topic

I loved Elevators the conversations were really good and in ME3 why not either have an elevator or s skip button where you jut go to s loading screen?

One word: Nostalgia.

And if anything, elevators > loading screens. I never complained about them.

This perfectely shows a decision we request for the devs that bited us in the a**. :wizard:

The same goes for the Mako, a lot of people hate him to the death (I've always found it rather fun to use).
Specially against a Thresher Maw. :D
Then, the same people complain when the Mako and planet exploration gone and realized that the problem wasn't the Mako itself, but the missions.

I really hope that Bioware don't do the same with the Hammerhead, it was rather fun to use it in Overlod and jump through lava.

That's how we learn, by trial and error: you analyse the error, look where you did wrong, make the necessary changes and do it again.

I have to say the loading screens in the second are terrible. I want the elevators back or a loading screen of images taken in game eg; mass relay, citadel.

I didn't mind the Citadel elevators, but the one on the Normandy can... do something or other (insert appropriate expletive[s]).  I'm more than happy with the Normandy's load screens, though it would be cool to instead have a really fast elevator that's a "fake load screen."  However, I am not at all complaining about there being no elevators (banter, on the other hand, I do miss).

But...but... I hate both of them!  Well I didn't "hate" the Mako, but the Hammerhead is so much more fun.

I laughed quite hard at that.  I still do every time I play DA.  And Morrigan was one of my favorite RPG characters ever... I loved all the stuff she had to say to Allistair.

I completely hated the very slow moving elevators. So I asked myself this question why do I miss them so much. I came to this conclusion, it's because I feel like a choice has been taken away from. In ME1 if you didn't want to wait on the long elevator you could always take the citadel transit(except for the places that didn't have a transit center ahem noveria:pinched:) anyways you had the choice of the loading screen or the elevator. Once they took that choice away from me I felt slapped in the face. Now I'm just forced to watch a loading screen that isn't even all that appealing to me and I think that's why I miss the elevators so much.

You would fit in well on the Deus Ex 3 boards.

funny that I've never played any Dues Ex game ever.

but yes I want elevators back bring me back my choice dammit <_<

You didn't have a choice if you want Tali to appear in ME2, even if you treat her very bad in the first game and denied the geth data (Wrex is dead, so no concerns about it).
What makes you think we have such choices, my dear Padawan?

Cheers

PS: I was viewing "The Empire Strikes Back"  yesterday (for the millionth time), so sorry about the Padawan.

The elevator wasnt a pointless waste of time, while you were in the elevator the game was loading it beats a loading screen imo.

it was not until i read the old forums that i even noticed how long the elevators took. they never bothered me. the only issue i had with the elevators was having to listen to the inane chat between different squad members 10,000 times over.

I think people miss the squad banter rather then the elevators...there were many funny things they said to each other. It's lacking in ME2 for some reason.

Cost.
Having every squad member have a conversation they initiate with each other squad mate in ME1 represents 30 conversations at a quick estimation. By contrast, given that Samara and Morinth would require different lines, you'd need 144 conversations to do the same in ME2. Voice actors cost money.

Time-killers while the next area loads are necessary.

That said, it's much better to be IN a slow elevator, listening to your squadmates or the news, than it is to watch an orange external diagram of an elevator slowly moving across the screen.

Plus, removing the elevators removed the glorious elevator music. This is a very bad thing. Such a great tune, reduced to a couple of cameos.

Elevator Music for ME3 Squadmate!
