Calling you a dick does not also mean I'm indignatious. Indignatious of what? You seem to have a horrible concept of the meaning of words.

No, it means you are an hypocrite. First you insult someone quite evidently ("dick" is a clear cut insult).
Then you proceed to complain about a perceived "insult" (that actually isn't an insult).

Good job there.

Playing devil's advocate

He said that insulting folks isn't a way to get someone to do work, and he isn't trying to get any work out of you, just a rise, so...

All those patch things sound good. The crashing issue is the only one that affects me very much, but it all looks good.

The letters are a good idea, although I bet you raised some hackles calling them 'former' love interests. ;) Re: the one that shows up, Alistair--it would be nice to have a letter from him if he is a warden and not the king, something that while I don't choose that ending, many do. Also, it would be very nice to get a letter from him as King/husband/lover that he wouldn't be back as he said he would. I spent the entire game expecting him to show up again, and was very surprised and disappointed when he didn't. I mean, he said he'd be back! ;)

Can't approve of the rampant use of the words "troll" or "fanboy" in this thread. I prefer down-right direct insults myself. That said, I agree with 99.9% of Abriael's opinions as always. Spouted mostly the same sorts of vitriol and such myself over the last many months. I'm just plum tired of carrying the load and fighting the fight. Good to see someone still willing to stand up for what's right...

To the opposition: I still can't believe you don't get it. Ah well maybe when you are on your own, struggling to pay bills, and competing with everyone for EVERYTHING it'll start making more sense to you.

In other news:

I just logged in on PSN and got a patch. Been logged in many times recently so I suspect this is the much awaited/decried/etc patch. Says my game is Version 1.03? Odd. Perhaps not.

all the new changes are welcomed, but they only make me more anxious about the fact it's not out yet! What happaned to good old days when companies simply released patches without warnings, then we complained about all the things not fixed yet, and repeat the cycle! The system worked...

Less posting, more releasing!

Sylph,

That patch is likely the new DLC trophies patch. Not checked yet.

Sadly Aratak it appears you are correct.

More DLC still no patch. And here I thought taking a 3 month hiatus from DAO would have me come back to good news. Guess my DAA will still grow dust and remain uninstalled. No new DLC for me until they fix what I have already purchased.

And to add injury to insult, now the severs are down. Yay!!

Oh, get the **** over
it... the rest of us have been playing it fine enough. how about at
least installing it instead of behaving like this? you come across as if
someone wronged you... makes you look real spoiled. how about fixing it
yourself, it's working perfectly for many of us. It's real aggrevating
sitting here, mine performing fine listening to this babble. every
gamebreaking bug so far has a counterfix, either by mod or by some easy
steps. Bury your pride and try to enjoy what you have.

is it that hard? Really? i think a lot of you are making a bigger problem than it is. please, just play what you can and come back when your save is corrupted after 124 turns as Austria because the British AI ****s up, ok? If you think there are gamebreakers in THIS game, then welcome to gaming, where the hell have you been the past 30 years, especially during the inlicensed NES carthridge era?

On the other side of the coin... patching is slow as hell. it's very critizisable. Patches fixing severe bugs in games are usually out VERY soon after a release, not 2 moths and 14 days later.

I don't care if they say we're wrongly angered, they give us no redeeming circumstances as to why on the other hand, they do not tell us to shut up either. still, getting the facts would relieve alot of anger.

Players on consoles don't have the (debatable) luxury of player created fixes for the game, or the expansion. I don't use them either, out of respect for those that don't have the option.

I was reading in another thread that this patch will be released on friday. Sorry for the ignorance but haven't read through the thread and want to start awakening after I have this patch.

I'll say it again. These huge patches don't do me any good if my game crashes every 5 minutes. Please consider, in future, to release as rapidly as possible, crash fixes as soon as tested. Game rules issues must be secondary to stability issues. I'd rather wait on rules/balance issues and be able to play asap.

Putting stability fixes on hold to complete a huge patch does nothing but irritate those of us who really can't play at all.

No it wasn't from an employee of Bioware.

I believe the post said "I won't buy this dlc until the patch this friday."

Starcraft 2 is going to be released in a couple months, Bioware better hurry up and release the patch, at least roll out a stability patch.

What about those players that are waiting on those rule fixes, and have been for close to nine months? Should they have to wait longer? I'd rather Bioware fixed as much as they can and not have to put multiple patches through console compliance testing in a short period of time.

To my knowledge, there is no release date for the 1.04 patch. I'm sure when it's ready, BioWare will post an official announcement. There have been weekly updates on patch progress every Friday, so maybe that's where the poster got confused.

No, they obviously haven't. A 5 second glance into the tech support forum would tell you otherwise. But we should just ignore a blatantly flawed product because you think it's fine right?

you come across as if
someone wronged you... makes you look real spoiled.

Expecting something I PAID FOR to work properly is spoiled? No, I suppose saying and doing nothing is the right thing to do. Yes, silence sure does accomplish a whole lot doesn't it?

Fallacious argument. I am neither a software coder nor do I have access to the source code necessary to do such a thing. Also, since I own the console version of the game I would actually be violating the terms of my contract with Microsoft by doing so.

It's real aggrevating
sitting here, mine performing fine listening to this babble.

It's real aggravating listening to people you like you being aggravated by PAYING CUSTOMERS wanting proper support for their purchases. I didn't pay $65 (tax included) for a shiny coaster which this game currently is.

Tell that to all the PC people whose games crash every 5 minutes despite being over spec and all drivers updated. Or the Xbox players whose saves have been corrupted despite spreading their selling around. This statement is pure hogwash.

is it that hard? Really? i think a lot of you are making a bigger problem than it is.

I have been here the last 30 years and you know what....most games I play have NEVER had this number of game breakers. And if they did, I would never have supported or followed the company for 15 years as I've done with Bioware. What imaginary world are you pulling that out of?

On the other side of the coin... patching is slow as hell. it's very critizisable. Patches fixing severe bugs in games are usually out VERY soon after a release, not 2 moths and 14 days later.

I was relating to another REALLY ****ING broken game called Empire: Total War. you'd be certain to have a corrupted save before you ever finished the game, unlike this game which works fine.

Awakening, which most people are being Melodramatic about never having touched because of lacking patches fixing gameberakers they can't have experienced since they haven't installed it, was released about two and a half month ago.

Changing sides? what? no! I'm VERY confused and annoyed with melodramatic users talking about broken games when even the worls bugs require but a reload. (anyone who plays this knows and should have a reflex to quicksave multiple times in each area.) the only REAL problem are memory leaks, which i don't face... but that's one i can relate to since it really does plague average computers.

What i AM annoyed about is the fact that they seem to take months to fix a handfull of serious errors that provoke the need to reload or bring about these memory leaks. that's really one thing that i'm angry about. that's not "changing sides" i'm on my side, where a Gamebreaker is one that definitively breaks the game for you, like corrupted saves or so and a company that leaves serious bugs unfixed for well over two months after release is a bad one.

so, yeah. you haven't experienced a gamebreaker unless you, by accident, quicksaved over your only slot while your weapons were missind due to a bug, your whole party is naked in the silverite mines due to another bug or your next group of foes have become invulnerable.

So far, this game has no problems that aren't navigatable by using the last autosave or whatever. as critizisable as this is, it's not a gamebreaker.

So, i'm tired of kids exagerating and i'm dead tired of developers working slow and not even telling us why.

as far as i'm concerned, you're the ignorant one. reloading is ****** easy. playing past animation flaws, hell, even with the dexterity and dagger bugs wasn't any real problem. This is making a whole deal of little things. I've seen games working far worse than this and i think you're spewing pure bull**** when you call this games state one of the worst you've seen.

I dunno... at least you guys could get realistic about your complaints and drop the whole "my game is broken" charade and return to the "something is not working as it should, i want it fix" since that's all it is.

I and plenty others are not on a PS3 for this game. and it is not some insane game of rummy fitting stuff together for a PS3. I do believe that they have a genuinely good reason, i just think that as long as it isn't given, it's not a wonder why people critizise how they SEEM to work.
