Really? So what do you build with? Can I try it?
I figure my 2nd Rogue would...
Level Dex/Strength evenly... 16 Cun to make out persuade
Take DW to get Riposte/Momentum....
Max out Combat, Lv. 3 Poison... Deft Hands... Below the Belt...
Still unsure...... I like disarming/unlocking/persuading...

I highly recommend 20 points in strength, yes. With 20 strength plus some items, you can wear Felon's Coat, Cadash Stompers, and the Helm of Honnleath, all of which together gives you (effectively) medium armor with great offensive stats--better than what you'll find on massive/heavy armor. You can pretty easily get armor up to around 24 without ever raising your strength above 20. In massive armor, unless you really focus on items to boost your armor value, you'll probably only beat that by about 10 points.hmmm... would that be because of the armor? Dex relies on how the player gets hit right? You'd hit less because strength makes armor heavier?
Sorry...think I'm finally getting used to what the stats mean...sorta....
while dex/cun makes the rogue...able to hit faster and dodge?
BUT
would... lets... say...20 in strength just to wear Tier 2 armor be bad? Just...some extra padding?
I find high strength builds inferior because they waste a lot of stats, grant a bonus I feel is unneeded, fail to leverage various talents, and get less talent usage. You're wasting stats because you still need at least 30 cunning for skills and traps/locks. I don't feel like I need the armor because stealth, crowd control, and/or a tank makes high armor less necessary. Assassin and Bard talents rely on cunning to grant higher benefits. You're using less talents because without the warrior talent Powerful, rogues are taking a large hit to fatigue from armor, and rogues are already less efficient at using activated talents. Some people are apparently happy autoattacking, but I'm not.

Interesting. I'd suck to be a glass cannon, I suppose? At least that's what it looks like to me I think......
So best rogue would be the Dex/Cun.... with Assassin/Duelist?

There is no best build, as it is subjective to the goals you want to achieve as well as what you enjoy.
I suggest for the first time, you take the common route of DEX 34+/ Cunning and Lethality, and STR 20-24. If you start to get crunched too often and begin to get frustrated, then add more STR to 38 and wear some heavier armor.

hmmmm.... I'll try that
How did you get so good at balancing points and stuff?
How do you play a warrior? Ususally I just take the first three shield slots in each tree and crank up strength/dex.....

That's pretty much all there is to it, except I recommend taking shield expertise and mastery as well.

You shouldn't be getting crunched at all with a high dex and stealth.

Oh.....does constitution help a warrior at all? Cuz you do need a lot of stamina.....

Overwhelm, Grab, Dragon Chew Toy, Crushing Prison - dex and stealth not helping there. Only Health and AR.Jestina wrote...

They have to be able to see you first.

^ Eventually you have to unstealth and attack. Unless you just run by every encounter in stealth. I have yet to play a game yet where I was never grabed/overwhelmed/chewed on.

Combat stealth is wonderful. The only thing that I couldn't stealth against was the Archdemon. You can get rogue gear that adds to your dodge rate and lowers hostility. As long as you always flank you shouldn't have any trouble at all. Armor is just for big lumbering warriors or those that don't know how to move out of the way when something is coming towards them. A rogue should always be seeking to flank targets, and the bigger a target is the more area you have for backstabbing. If it turns it's attention towards you, then poof and gone or incapacitate it with a talent. Good rogue armor is fairly easy to get too and early on.
If I want to waddle around in plate, i'll play a warrior.

The few CON pts gained from the Fade are usually good enough. I try and get somewhere between 12-16 as a base.
But stamina and mana are created from Willpower score; not CON. I like extra doses myself, but it is not a primary ability like STR and DEX.
And who says one cannnot Stealth in armor? Kinda fun walking past guards in Evon's mail, or Warden Commander plate!
