Well, I turned on my X Box, and put ME2 in. The message saying "an update is required to play this game" popped, and I accepted of course. Then, all my saved games were erased and the game doesn't recognize that I downloaded anything (like Zaeed) when the XB Dashboard says I have it downloaded. Any ways to fix this?

I would like to say that I recently transferred the content to a new X-Box. However, I do not think this caused the save game erases because after i transferred the data I played on my saved games multiple times in the past week.

Not a lot of support here huh? I am experiencing problems with Mass Effect 2 not recognizing my Mass Effect 1 saves... I just transferred to a new XBOX as well using an external hard drive.

That problem probably has to do with the ME1 saves that are used for importing being hidden. I will copy an answer I just posted in another thread. Hopefully you still have your old hard drive?

"If you transfer using an external drive, like a flash drive, then you
have to transfer something called "publisher data" or something like
that. This is not regular save files listed under Mass Effect. This data
cannot even be seen except during the transfer process of selecting
what content you want to transfer. The Publisher data should have a name
corresponding to one of your Shepards, so it should be easy to
identify. Though it only seems like one file when you select it all your
save data should be in that file. (The publisher data is located at the
bottom of the list of games, videos, demos etc when you go to the
transfer content selection screen.) To check that your transfer has gone
well boot up ME2 and try to start a new career by importing data from
ME1. Then choose your external drive as the source and see if you find
your save files there. If not, something has gone wrong."

And as I also mentioned in the other thread, this answer may seem a little vague. That's because I'm writing this down from my memory. I'm in the process of changing xboxes and I don't have one at home right now.

The 'hidden' files used to import into ME2 can be easily re-created - if you changed Xboxes and hard drives, and have copied/moved your ME1 saves to the new HDD, then load up your autosave from 1/2 way through the last ME1 fight on your new Xbox, re-finish the game, and the 'hidden' file will be recreated, and ready for import into ME2.
